Vancleef-Arpels buys Turin-based Marchisio. Or, rather, the Richemont Group purchases one of the most famous jewelery companies in Turin. The Swiss luxury giant, which controls brands such as Piaget, Vancleef-Arpels, Dunhil, Officine Panerai, Vacheron Costantin, Montblanc, Baume & Mercier, has in fact acquired the shares of Antica Ditta Marchisio. In turn, the company was acquired twenty years ago by the Mattioli family, and also produces for third parties, including Compagnie Financière Richemont. The company had a turnover (in 2011) of around 22 million euros. But the news doesn’t end there. Luciano Mattioli and his daughter Licia, who is also president of the Industrial Union of Turin, simultaneously created a new company, Mattioli Spa, thus remaining in the jewelery sector, but with their own brand. «The Turin production site was chosen as one of the strategic reference points that we intend to consolidate and enhance. It is just the beginning of an important path of production and market growth”, is the comment of the entrepreneur.
