A third of the purchases of wealthy Chinese in Italy are made up of jewelery products. An interesting fact for those who sell and design earrings, necklaces and bracelets. The data emerges from research by Global Blue presented in Milan. In second place in the Italian shopping of foreigners are the Russians, attracted by the purchases of luxury items offered by the Italian fashion capital, Milan. Of the total tax-free sales, Russia remains first in the ranking with approximately 26%, followed by China (19%), which increased purchases by 68% in one year. However, the average receipt of a Chinese tourist rose to the top with 852 euros compared to the 638 euros spent by a Russian. But according to analysts, the Chinese will soon catch up with the Russians, perhaps they will double them. Among Italian cities, Milan accounts for the lion’s share of purchases with 33%, followed by Rome (19%), Venice (9%) and Florence (8%). But what do Chinese tourists buy in Italy? Two thirds of spending goes on clothing and leather goods, while 27% is represented by jewellery, including watches which are becoming increasingly popular.
