Christie’s Hong Kong closed its spring auction of Magnificent Jewels with sell for 60.6 million US dollars, and with the jewels sold in sales for the Anniversary has exceeded 85 million. The most important piece was Aurora Green, sold for 16.8 million dollars, a new world auction record for a green diamond. The gem was purchased by Chow Tai Fook Jewellery. The previous record belonged always to Christie’s, which in the sale in Geneva on 14 May had popped to $ 8.6 million for The Ocean Dream, a fancy vivid blue-green diamond of 5.50 carats. The sale of Hong Kong, tells the auction house, it has attracted 197 buyers from 19 countries on five continents. The five additional lots offered for the 30th anniversary of Christie’s, on sale May 30, amounted to $ 24.8 million.
