It’s inevitably, therefore, that sooner or later a Maison of jewelery will face this type of jewel, as is now the case with de Grisogono. The brand created by Fawaz Gruosi presents the Toi & Moi collection which has all the trappings of the genre just described. Beyond the poetic presentations and romantic dedications to the love of a couple, reality is more concrete: jewels with two poles have their own charm. Perhaps because they double the points of attention, are twice as valuable, can be seen and often worn in two different perspectives. It’s real that this kind of jewel always like even a single woman and this is enough to put aside the flights of fancy love symbolized in a jewel. Fascinated by Indian traditions, culture and philosophy, designer Eugenia Bruni uses the metaphor of the number 4 chakra for the new collection, which is summarized in the word Love. The chakras, according to ancient Indian spirituality, represent the vital points, within the body, that are connected with an immaterial dimension.
The fourth chakra, in fact, is that of the heart. That is, that not only has an essential function for the life of the body, but it is also a bridge to the world of affectivity, at least on a symbolic level (“The heart is the chakra whose gem is love”, he says Eugenia Bruni). And here is the collection of Pasquale Bruni dedicated to love in an unequivocal way. The jewels, in fact, show the rounded shape of the heart or completely report the word Love. The jewels use rose quartz and emerald, placed at the center of each piece, while the frame in pink or white gold is embellished with white or champagne diamonds. By the way, the stones have a new cut, called by Pasquale Bruni “cut chakra of the heart”.
The Amore 4 Chakra collection includes band rings and rigid bracelets. Another new aspect for the Maison: the flex bracelet is born, with two white gold threads that can accommodate any message. The watches-jewels are rather jewelry-watches: precious bracelets in which, among other things, a dial appears that marks the hours. Because, let’s face it, a bracelet with timepiece does not need to count the minutes that pass. This is why jewelry houses often offer bracelets that are more of an ornament than a practical tool. As in the case of Charriol, a Swiss brand famous for its jewels made from a shape that resembles that of industrial steel cables, naturally also using metals and precious stones. One of the most successful lines of the Maison de Genève is called St-Tropez. On the occasion of Baselworld (22-27 March 2018) Charriol presents Invisible, a jewel-watch with a white gold case enriched with 135 white baguette-cut diamonds. The watch uses an exclusive stone embedding technique that makes the frame invisible. The diamonds are placed next to each other so as to hide the gold meshes on which they are embedded, so as to create a seemingly compact surface of brilliant gems. The diamond circle encloses a white mother-of-pearl dial with 12 princess-cut white diamonds placed in place of the hour numbers. Riviére, a Roman Maison that has been back in the foreground from few years thanks to a new entrepreneurial impulse, has decided to present itself to the public with seven categories of collections: a Rule of Art, Savoir-faire, Allure, Timeless, Mandalay, Myriad and Savoir-vivre. The same style is common to all collections but, of course, with different ideas and paths. They range from the pearls that a couple of years ago have conquered the place of honor at the Couture Show, to jewelry like those of Savoir-vivre that focus on modern geometries made of white or pink gold, with the addition of diamonds or precious stones like rubies and sapphires. In short, the classic jewel revisited, rounded, made modern by curves that intersect or double without meeting. An exercise that would have pleased Moebius, but probably also like those who are not interested in geometric theorems, but look at simple, dear, inexhaustible vanity. Gold buttons. A simple element, always used for clothing. From this small round metal, one of the largest jewelery Maison, Van Cleef & Arpels, launched the Bouton d’or collection, inspired by a jewelery design introduced in 1939. Launched in the spring of 2016, the collection now enriches with five new pieces. Not only: in addition to the jewelery line it also introduces a watch. New arrivals are a necklace, a ring, a bracelet, earrings and a pendant, always in pink gold and white gold rhodium-plated to enhance brilliance, with a diamond in the center of the button, embossed in castone. Diamonds are chosen among the finest quality classes: D, E or F for color, IF and VVS for purity. The structure consisting of so many small metal elements contributes to increasing the volume and reflections of jewelery. It is no coincidence that the shape resembles the luxury version of the sequins. New jewels are added to those that use corniola, mother of pearl, chrysoprase and yellow gold.
The Bouton d’or collection is inspired by the paillette pattern that is recorded in the archives of the Maison in 1939. In the forties, yellow pastilles are used in a variety of ways, for example with buttons assembled on a ring or along the threads of a double necklace. The motif was later evoked in the 1950s, with simple or crossed bracelets, ornamented earrings, until it reached 2016, with the rebirth of the buttons.

Precious reflections to celebrate the winter season: Souffle de Diamants by Van Cleef & Arpels ♦ ︎
White is the color of snow, but is also of the most classic diamonds. Perhaps this is why Van Cleef & Arpels has decided to celebrate the most renowned and desired precious stone with Souffle de Diamants. The edition 2018 by the great Maison event, coincides with the months of winter festivities and snowfalls: in fact, it’s from November 2017 to mid-January 2018.
The jewels are, of course, exclusively made of gold and diamonds. The novelties are inside the lines Lotus and Frivole, in both cases with light, fresh, bright flowers with extensive use of pavé with diamonds. But there is also a technological aspect, a sign of the times: the five most representative boutiques of Van Cleef & Arpels will be equipped with an interactive mirror. But we come to the jewels: lotus flower is one of the most popular jewels in the East as well as in the West. While in India, China and Asian countries the lotus also assumes significance related to the philosophical or religious tradition, in Europe and America it is simply a delicate, ornamental flower. Van Cleef’s lotus jewels have a finely perforated pattern and appropriate proportions. The last pieces added to the pre-existing collection are a bracelet, earrings and a white gold pendant. The petals are distributed on two levels with a relief and movement effect. On the occasion of Souffle de Diamants, the Maison also reveals a reinterpretation of the emblematic Bague Entre les Doigts Lotus, a ring with a smooth body and accentuated tunnel motifs to optimize the circulation of light.
Brilliant frivolity
Equally bright the pieces that make up the Frivole collection, consisting of ring, necklace, earrings and pendant. They are always flowers, but with different petals than Lotus, but with the same impression of lightness. But the most obvious aspect is the stylistic choice of the company, born in 2005 at the initiative of Alessandro Saracino and Cristiano Annaratone, namely the idea of pointing everything as tennis bracelet. One of the peculiarities of Alfieri St. John is to tie their collections to significant dates. It’s not an exception is the 1953 collection. The number is the year that Elizabeth II wore the historic Imperial Crown and became Queen of England. Giorgio Visconti looks to the Future. And more, he is even able to create it. The designer of Valenza, however, did not become a magician. Futuro is the name of the new jewelery line presented at VicenzaOro. The collection consists of 21 different lines. Some of these lines have the same name as collections launched in recent years but, indeed, the design has been completely refurbished.
These are jewelery designed to be worn with ease. It’s not unnecessary to say it: there are jewels that can be worn only in specific situations and with proper clothes. Others, as a whole those of the 21 lines of Giorgio Visconti, which were created in order to be paired in a less selective manner. This does not mean that they haven’t a plus.
Among other things, jewels are so many that within this production of the Piedmont Maison are pieces of different impact, although all the bracelets, rings, pendants and earrings are faithful to the company’s established style. Objective: to understand their views on the prospects of the jewelry market. Result: 56 percent of respondents expect steady sales for 2017. The 28 percent is optimistic and sees an increase in sales.
Prices: 69 percent think that they will be substantially stationary, while 23 percent are expected to rise. Another trend expected by the operators (there was also a large Italian delegation led by Italian Exhibition Group) is the jewelry with affordable prices, which is destined to grow. Also according to the participants at the fair, they are on the rise the jewels related to fashion brands (72 percent of respondents), while they are always jewelry for weddings and special occasions (58 percent) and those high-end (58 percent). In terms of the price range, 54 percent of respondents expect a success for jewelry between 100 and $ 500, followed by those between 500 and 1000 US dollars (it provides 51 per cent) of the price range.
Also interesting is the judgment on the materials. After the hangover of pink gold, 43 percent of respondents see now in pole position the white gold (33 percent), followed yellow gold (23 percent). No surprise, however, for the stones: as always is the diamond to attract more favors (41 percent), although the percentage is lower than that of last year (was 54 percent). Much also listed aquamarine (14%) and emerald (13%).
Finally, the eyes of the operators are focused on market fluctuations, conditioned by the economic policies of governments: the prices of gold, platinum and stones, as well as the citizens’ willingness to buy the jewels, also depend on the decisions of Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping and so on. The collection Love Me by Recarlo, groumette in white gold and diamonds.
What is love if not a link that is mutually desired? And the symbol is a wire of life that weaves like a thread, to form a fabric that is the life that flows. Behind this philosophical premise is the classic form of groumette, that is the sort of mesh that forms in jewelry necklaces, bracelets and even rings. And that was adopted by the Piedmont Maison Recarlo for his new collection Love Me. It is choice, but also a revisit, a re-interpretation, a resurrection. The metal mesh, in fact, is actually a plot which uses the shape of the heart, on which to focus the the eye on the different pieces. In any case, the brand does not betray its own interpretation of the jewelry. As in its most classic collections, including Love Me, the jewels are made of white gold and diamonds. The company also emphasizes the merit from the technical point of view, with a accuracy setting, “emphasized by models that highlight the centrality of diamonds.”

It’s the wedding season. And for every marriage it takes three faiths: one is the one that unites the two spouses, that is mutual trust, the other two are the ones that fit on your finger. Damiani has a special prerogative in this: the Piedmontese Maison has always offered many variations of rings for the occasion, also with the option to design a jewel. In this case, however, it offers a new line, Batticuore (means Heartbeat). The rings are made of white gold. They have a snug fit and the center of the band is recessed, thanks to a retractable frame, a special heart, available in white diamond or in deep red ruby. The heart that will beat probably is that of the recipient. The hearts on rings can be visible or hidden inside the ring, in direct contact with the ring finger.
