The exhibition of 500 fashion jewelry at the Palazzo Reale, in Milan.
Fashion and jewelry: like saying champagne and bubbles, or sea and tanning. In a nutshell, are two aspects of the same game. The differences are especially those related to the material used which, of course, also affect the shape of the jewels, but not the creativity expressed. And Milan, the Italian fashion capital, joins the wires in the exhibition dedicated to the Fashion Jewelry (Royal Palace, from 8 to November 20, admission free). The exhibition is sponsored and produced by the City of Milan, the Royal Palace and Homi and is curated by Alba Cappellieri, a professor of Jewellery Design and the Attachment to the Politecnico di Milano. Objective: to highlight the relationship between Jewel and Fashion. The exhibition presents 500 significant jewels divided into three sections: Jewels for Fashion, dedicated to the main Italian craft and manufacturing excellence, Jewelry on Fashion, with independent designers and brands, with a focus on the creative processes, and Jewelry with Fashion , dedicated to the main designers and ability of jewel to interact with the dress.
And so, the organizers point out that no mention of jewelry but the real jewels for fashion, since they are not the materials to make a valuable object, but the creativity that is used to think it. At the same time, however, it is difficult to argue that a pair of earrings with emeralds and diamonds are not valuable because it modeled on a style already in use.

De Vecchi rejuvenates its silver
The new design silver jewelry by De Vecchi Milano 1935: pictures and prices.
The most important thing, in sports, is to repeat the successes, perhaps improving them. But also in the jewelry the same principle applies: if something goes well, better to continue on the same road, if anything, adding a dash of novelty. And it is the strategy of many Maison, including De Vecchi Milano 1935, which is known to the general public for its designer silvers. In the flagship store in Via Santo Spirito, a short walk from Via Monte Napoleone, the brand has presented the novelties of the season, including those for jewelery lines. New pieces are added to Maracas lines, Torchon, Contrarié, Tubes and Unchained. The silverware is always brilliant and, above all, have a special design, which is the strong point of the house. The Maracas line, for example, expands with a rigid bracelets, earrings and pendant with thin chain. The name comes from the clink, discreet, produced by mobile elements that distinguish the jewelry. We can show price: earrings 575 euro, bracelet 835 euro, necklace 560 euro. Torchon line: are new a rigid bracelet and two rings in different sizes characterized by the same spiral game. Two measures of the rings: one with a 13 mm thickness is priced at 460 euro, to 9 mm 440 euro. The bracelet, however, costs 790 euro. Contrarié: the new pieces are two rings, one oval and one square section. Tubes: the idea is that of a vague reference to ethnic jewelry, but actually are design. Unchained: to necklace chain are joined by two others with geometric plaques, plus a bracelet. Prices: the necklaces costs 900 euros, while the bracelet 395 euro.

The raw charm of Bjorg
Bjorg back to Milan with a new jewelry collection.
The new proposals by Bjorg go through also at White in Milan, an event somewhere between trendy fashion and accessories. The right time to the collections of the Maison with roots deep in northern Norway, but with residence in India and business in London. In short, the right mix to play the role of design devoted brand, but with a global soul. The company was founded in 2004 by Bjørg Nordli-Mathisen, after living, among others, in Paris and Milan. The artisan tradition with pieces one-of-a-kind along with the desire to translate the Nordic design in jewelry collections have helped spread the fame of the brand outside of the scope of the avant-garde fashion jewelry. As often happens in this type of jewelry, they are not precious stones or the carat of the metal to be important, but the very idea of the pieces. Made of silver and gold-plated with a desired raw finish, ie crude, the Bjorg jewelery were worn by David Bowie, Madonna, Rihanna, Robyn, J and Röyksopp. And with the years it has not lost its charm. The new life of Alfieri & St.John
Alfieri & St.John is relaunching and opens two boutiques in Rome and Milan.
After the sale by the Damiani Group, Alfieri & St. John brand initiated the relaunch strategy. The first step was to reorganize the supply of jewelry, which are now divided into six collections that include around a hundred pieces. The second step was to open its first store Alfieri & St. John. Gens Aurea, the company that bought the brand has chosen Rome to start the turnaround (even if, at the time of writing this article, it is not yet an online site of the House). The shop is in via Frattina, in the center of the city. Not lacking in particular, what is the most recognizable jewel of brand: the Cross 1977, produced in a limited series of 77 pieces. It is made of white gold and diamonds with a design that makes it a very light pendant. That of Rome, however, is only the first step: in the plans of the new owners is coming also a boutique in Milan, from mid-September, always in a central area. Not only that, if all goes well, the company also aims to raise awareness of the brand abroad, with the opening of boutiques in other European cities. On the other hand the words of brand are already half English. Lavinia Andorno
Jovane, a specialist in rings
Why limit yourself to import watches and jewelry produced by others when you can give rein to their imagination and do it yourself? In 2005, in Milan, Joseph Telio has created a new brand, Jovane, with the idea of transforming what he had in mind: portability of classic jewelry. And with an ambition: to present the public with valuable collections, yet at prices no exaggerated. The result is a small company with high hopes and a discreet positioning between the specialized companies, particularly in the realization of rings. The Jovane brand it really offers so many, in most cases with the same category: white gold, yellow or pink, with white diamonds, blacks or brown, but other colors such as blue fancy. As an alternative to diamond rings are adorned with precious stones, such as rubies or emeralds. The workmanship is very used in pavé. The jewelry form is quite traditional, but with its own style, recognizable. Giulia Netrese
Di Gregorio, from Sicily with emerald
He left Sicily with the sea in the heart, but Giovanni Di Gregorio in Milan has found solace in the emeralds and in his wife, Laura Sorrenti, partner in the jewelry brand that bears the name of its founder. Having worked extensively for other brands, De Gregorio decided to throw the heart over the obstacle and opened a corner on the second floor of the department store Brian & Barry in Piazza San Babila, in Milan. The super luxury store formula, proposed in the midst of economic crisis, struggled at first, but now it seems to be paying off. With satisfaction of Di Gregorio, which now tries the challenge of the eastern markets by participating in VicenzaOro Dubai. To potential customers of Emirates and the East, the Sicilian designer brings rich collections, often based on diamonds and emeralds (his favorite stone), with jewelery by design that may remind some architectural elements of the famous Sicilian Baroque, such as Segesta earrings, pendants drop that look like bunches cones that sometimes are in the garlands of stucco mansions of the eighteenth century. Simone so White
At the White Show in Milan (January 6 to 18), an event focused on fashion as research, she decided to participate Simone Vera Bath (stand 41). The designer, born in Berlin, has a strong focus on rings because, he says, “your hands are the part of our body that we do talk more.” But, in addition to jewelry for fingers, also creates bracelets, necklaces and pendants, silver and bronze with stone, wood and leather. Among his proposals is the number of rings with seals, thought to be male, but are often like and are purchased by women. Same goes for other large rings, originally designed for a male audience and appreciated more (or the same) by female shoppers. The jewels are made of gold, silver and bronze. The pieces presented at the White Show, also stand out the technique “smeared” with which they are treated surfaces, which is one of the unique aspects of the jewels of Simone Vera Bath. The style is very geometric, often with sharp corners, in addition to mini sculptures ornament. Or, on the contrary, absolutely smooth stones: rubies, sapphires, emeralds, opals and semi-precious stones.

New jewels for the Ligne C collection by Gaia Repossi. After the homage of twisted C to celebrate 18 years of Colette, the iconic concept store in Paris, the creative director of the historic maison Turin Repossi, but French by adoption, has drawn other rings in three, four, five, six wires. We saw them in the preview. They are thin and simple and twist forming layers that seem to escape in any direction, but they are contained in a schema. In short, the inspiration is always the same of the first objects, the colors are classic: gold and pink gold plated black and gold with a touch of galvanic lilac, while the shape is slightly rounded. A curious detail: the presentation to the press in Milan was organized in a shop of worship, 10 Corso Como. This time the C are double and even jewels appear duplicated in the glass and mirrors showcase that turns on itself, created by the designer. Here are the new images that we captured and prices (ranging from 2.400 to 10.5oo euro).
