Broken lines and new stories, with a bit of ice. Francesca Mo, light and fantastic designer, presents a new collection and new proposals of the most successful lines. The Broken Line collection plays on wavy or rigid lines. The materials used are yellow gold, white gold or bronze. The earrings are available in two models: with three circles to form a pendant, or two circles mounted together, one inside the other. There are also two rings. The first remembers the movement of the sea and is completed when combined with another piece. The rings are available in three materials (gold, silver and copper). There is also a ring that plays on the shape of the rim (this is pretty obvious), but with the overlapping distance of two golden bands. Prices starting from 120 euro.

Ottaviani, an Italian historical brand for bijoux and jewelery, renews its collections for the winter 2017-2018. Proposed jewels use natural stones such as agate, quartz or amber. But the main aspect is the interpretation of pieces as miniature sculptures. Small teapots, leaves, bells, flowers, jars, birds, cats, children, owls emerge from earrings, rings and pendants. Rhodium-plated metal, in some cases with gilding, makes the surface brilliant. Particularity of the collection is the different treatment of silver 925, treated with a white wax, it is very shiny and of great effect. When it is handled with the process of Electroforming, on the other hand, produces large volume elements and shapes, but at the same time easy to read and easy to wear. There is nothing better than a video to communicate something. There is nothing better than a ring to communicate love. The union between these two factors is the contest has involved 42 filmmakers from 11 countries, including Italy, the United States, Canada, France, the United Kingdom, Spain and Russia. The young directors have produced 48 short films. Promoter of this film festival is Recarlo. The theme of the movies was, in fact, a story where the protagonist is Anniversary, a ring by Piedmont Maison and, of course, he and she. And this special strip of fabric is transformed into jewels with Salvini’s Nastro collection. As it is easy to imagine, the shape of jewels is voluptuous, light and refined. It is perhaps the only case where the ribbon is inside a gift box and not out. The ribbon transformed into jewel is made of white or pink gold, in a delicate weave shape. To make jewelery more shining, are used several diamonds round cut, placed in files that alternate with metal, with sudden changes, even color, and volumes. Is there a symbol of the most effective love of the heart? For sure, no. That’s why the Maison Recarlo has decided to continue her Anniversary collection with a new jewelery line, Anniversary Love. The name says it all: love and special occasions are the recipients of these jewels who keep faith in their mission even in their shape. The peculiarity of this collection is, in fact, the choice of the shape of the diamonds used, all in the shape of a heart. From bigger to smallest, even tiny ones, are all stones that have the silhouette of the symbol of love. Let’s say for those who are not expert: it’s not easy to find a cutter that can provide a high number of diamonds with this type of shape, with 58 glossy facets (among other things, it was a cut loved by Louis XVI). Maison Recarlo has managed to center the target and, looking at the many pieces that make up the collection, was not a simple business.
The idea of diamond-shaped on gold is offered in a variety of ways: for example, with diamonds lonely, or with a sole of other small diamonds, in this case with brilliant cut, to make even more bright the jewel. The same shape is proposed in the monachelle and pendant.
Hearts also feature some special creations for the models: the glittering Eternelle glider, where the diamonds alternate (with particular light effects) and the contrarié, with a swirling circle of hearts to climb. The Cartier’s high jewelery virtuosity continues with Résonances. There are not reverberating sounds, but colors, shapes, and volumes. The collection was showed in a gala in New York with Carey Mulligan, Sofia Coppola, Diane Kruger, Martha Stewart, Sofia Boutella, Jason Wu, Fernando Garcia e Laura Kim, Arthur Elgort, Jessica Hart, David Neville and Gucci Westman, Jill Kargman, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Carolyn Murphy and so on, after an exclusive London club to present a new round of exceptional pieces, of those who go directly in the historical collections. But why are Résonances? The explanation is simple, are the echoes of the very history of the French Maison, one of few which resides in the Olympus of jewelery. The many creations that have marked Cartier’s life in the jewelery come back, in short, not as replicas, but as ideas that offer the opportunity to present a series of pieces of great visual impact. The florentine company specializing in silver has long taken the road to an ever more imaginative and elaborated jewel-style interpretation, with collections that over time have also added elements other than simple silver. This is the case for one of the winter collections, Via Lattea (Milky Way), with melted pieces with labradorite inserts. The pieces consist of a stream of small spheres of glossy silver on a burnished background, running in a bright set of textures and opalescence. The effect is as a small galaxy that becomes jewel and is, in fact, produced through the use of labradorite, a stone that has fluctuating reflections in colors ranging from gray to pale blue to blue. Andrea Palladio, a great architect of the sixteenth century, who had actually the most prosaic name of Andrea di Pietro della Gondola, is a symbol of Venice, but especially of Vicenza. Between the two towns are spread churches and, above all, the great villas that have made famous Palladio. Not only: during VicenzaOro, also you can found Palladio in one booth. Palladio it’s the name of collection presented by Al Coro, a German brand of Italian origin. It is the legacy left by Giuliano Corolli to his sons Alexander and Daniel, who continue the activity of his father, who was born in Vicenza.
The Palladio collection has nothing of classical architecture, although the turquoise blue color refers to the Italian sea, and light processing is inspired by the traditional jewelery in the Vicenza area. The gold chains have small hearts, flowers and endless signs, delicate earrings are made with a cream-colored mother-of-pearl inlay. Price: necklace with pendant about 1000 euros, necklace with different elements with turquoise rises to 4210, earrings between 1820 and 3000 euros. Lavinia Andorno
