Three precious yellow for Picchiotti

Among the rings destined for engagement, marriage or anniversary by Picchiotti, emerge three exceptional diamonds fancy yellow ♦ ︎

Love does not want compromises. Especially for those who can afford it, when love translates into a concrete, sparkling, eternal engagement ring or marriage. A precious ring is not only a sentimental investment, the sign of a promise and a premise, but also a good to be handed down to children and grandchildren. In short, an important investment from all points of view. To satisfy the desire to choose the best, which in some cases is also a necessity (to spend their money well), it is better to choose who guarantees the highest quality. As in the case of Picchiotti, an Italian jeweler who uses high-end precious stones and is one of the top players in the category.
In September Picchiotti presented a new collection consisting of engagement rings, wedding bands, wedding jewelry and anniversary.

The collection includes 60 pieces and, in addition to making the eyes shine, it adds an innovative technology to solve problems such as the sizing of the ring and the weight of the dangling earrings.

Platinum Ring, natural color fancy intense yellow SI1, 10,10 carati

The new bridal collection uses rings and straps from Picchiotti’s Xpandable collection, which with a special patented technology allows the ring to adapt to the finger up to two sizes. To be clear: when you wear the ring, there are not springs to see out of stem. Outside you can not see anything different, but the jewel is soft as if it were elastic.
This system also has another advantage: a man can surprise his girlfriend or bride without knowing exactly the size of the ring. In addition, the ring can be adapted to the finger even when the body buys a few extra pounds (and it happens, it happens).
In this collection there are also three particularly precious rings: these are jewels that mount fancy yellow, intense or natural diamonds, of maximum purity, with cushioned and flown cuts, mounted on platinum or gold. They are notable for their beauty and weight, respectively 11.07, 10.10 and 7.3 carats. Price on request.

Rings for asymmetrics bridal

The asymmetric rings of the British designer (awarded at Couture 2016) Polly Wales ♦

Are you getting married? You have an engagement you want to seal with a jewel? Take a look at the designer who in 2016 won the Couture Awards in Las Vegas for the bridal category: Polly Wales. If you like her jewelry, you can also buy them online (the headquarters of the Maison are in the UK). Designer and owner of the brand that bears her name, says she prefers an natural “imperfect beauty ” to the  mass produced jewelry. Polly studied jewelery at the Royal College of Art, in London, and before that she was focusing on sculpture. But the jewels, she explains, have enabled her to get in touch directly with people. Her style? It’s a mix that also includes Byzantine and Indian jewelry. The shapes of the rings, even the engagement and wedding ones, are slightly irregular, and small stones embedded in the metal are arranged without always having the usual symmetry. But this doesn’t make them seem less valuable: white, yellow or pink gold is matched with sapphires, diamonds and rubies. And even the solitaires are rather original. Margherita Donato

Roberto Coin unique

Unique pieces: the rings of Roberto Coin with gold and large precious stones color ♦ ︎
Roberto Coin is rightly famous for his fine jewelry, that is for the precious collections, but also that they are worn without problems, day or night, without it being necessary to rob a bank to buy them. But the Venetian designer is able to propose, every year, even special pieces, unique jewels, which reveal the ability of the Maison to deal with high-jewelery and top-of-the-range brands. This is the case, for example, of these jewels brought together under the definition of Unique Collection, although in reality each one makes a separate story. They are rings that in common have the genre cocktail, that is they are sufficiently vivacious and with generous dimensions. In addition, next to the white gold, blackened or pink, they show off stones of great impact, such as tourmaline, blue topaz, tanzanite, alternating with classic diamonds. In short, one more chance to admire the lively fantasy of Roberto Coin applied to the aesthetics of high jewelery. Giulia Netrese

Spring smiles with Mini Rosa

/

The bijoux of the Mini Rosa brand, now also with small diamonds ♦ ︎
Mini Rosa is a brand born in 2013 a few years ago from the imagination of Rosa Rossignol, an Italian-French manager specialized in the management of human resources who has transferred her experience in the creativity of accessories, notebooks and jewels. It is a young brand, and just as young is the public it addresses. Mini Rosa is symbolized by a figure drawn in style almost like a comic and has the goal, achieved, to instill a bit ‘of good humor. All products are handmade, from quality raw materials, to responsible and ecological consumption. But, as often happens, we get from low to high. At the moment Mini Rosa is an intermediate: from small bijoux she has come to propose jewels, even with 9-carat gold. The last rings in pink, yellow or white gold also have a pavé and in some cases letters of the alphabet drawn with small diamonds. Mini Rosa bijoux can be found in France and in Italy (the list of shops is on the web site http://minirosa.net.

All are for one with Giovanni Ferraris

//

The stacked rings of the Diva collection by Giovanni Ferraris: precious stones together with a skilful goldsmith’s technique ♦ ︎
Stacking different rings can be fun. But it is a game that has some contraindications. The first: if the rings on the same finger are many, it is difficult to remember the best sequence. Furthermore, it is easy for one of the rings to be lost. Third, it is easy that not all rings are of the same quality. Yet the game is nice. The solution has devised the skillful technique of Giovanni Ferraris, one of the leading names in the great jewelry of Valenza. His collection Divina, in fact, has divinely interpreted the game with the solution to avoid problems and get all the benefits from stacking rings. In fact, the seven circles that make up each ring in this collection are softly linked by a virtually invisible griffe. The ring, therefore, can be spread like an accordion or remain compressed as a single element. In short, as for the musketeers of Alexander Dumas: one for all and all for one.
As these are stacked rings, each circle has its own personality: shiny or satin gold, white, pink or yellow, with colored stones or diamonds, rubies or emeralds. Anchor: with stones of the same size or different. Or all these categories together. Certainly they are not rings that bore.

Two cocktails for Roberto Coin

Two new cocktail rings for Roberto Coin. They use jade and malachite next to gold and diamonds ♦ ︎

It is well known that the cocktail ring was invented by the flapper, the new generation of women who in the 1920s, during Prohibition in the United States, began to use shorter skirts, shorter hair, listen to jazz music, and in general to show off their contempt for the good manners. Attitude that included wearing fancy rings, much larger and brighter than normal solitaire or simple wedding rings. The concept of cocktail ring was then elaborated to become a jewelery type. Rings that you see, with generous sizes. But, of course, every designer has his way of interpreting cocktail rings. Like Roberto Coin, a Venetian designer with an international passport, has added new cocktail rings to his catalog: the jewel of maxi proportions is reinterpreted through a universe of shapes and nuances that use the colors of jade and malachite next to diamonds and gold. The latest fantastic of Wendy Yue

If you think that Eastern designers are linked to the traditional style, you must change idea: an example is that of Wendy Yue, which not coincidentally also studied in Vienna. His unique pieces (we’ve talked about here) are visionaries and nothing related to images of dragons and pagodas. She, who now lives and works in Hong Kong, has just finished a new set of rings, a series called Luscious Shrine, and describes his artistic inspiration: “A journey through the ancient pyramids of Cairo, a humble shelter in Buddhist temples sacred of Burma, an exotic expedition green hell of the Amazon…” And so the world is small for Wendy. But it is also a fantasy world, which is transformed into figures of butterflies or flowers with colors sometimes ambiguous, sometimes solid. Everyone, including the latest jewels, don’t have no copies or have very few, and so they have priced accordingly, which fluctuates from 8 thousand to 20 thousand dollars. But at least you are sure that this jewel is like a work of a painter. Although to produce them are the 200 artisans who work in the employ of the designer. Rudy Serra

Garavelli in four colors

The Garavelli formula (tradition plus innovation) works: it introduces jewels a few at a time, with a cautious but sure proposal of new pieces, it’s good for the Piedmont Maison. Now, for example, the brand that is close to reaching the milestone of a century of history, adds to its collection Dune four cocktails rings of considerable proportions and bright colors: yellow, white, pink and blackened gold. A surprise, if you compare with the now classic collections of the company led by Elisabetta Molina. Although the company was born and remains active in an area from the conservative professional attitudes (in a good way) as that of Valenza, Garavelli loves the introduction of technological issues. In this case, for example, a special galvanic finish with micro-ceramic components, that is, nano ceramic. One technique that has allowed to preserve the aesthetics together with the robustness. But not only: this system, they explain in Garavelli, it allows you to restore the color after many years, if it is tarnished. As for repair, you can simply return the ring to the jeweler to have it as new.

Jovane, a specialist in rings

/

Why limit yourself to import watches and jewelry produced by others when you can give rein to their imagination and do it yourself? In 2005, in Milan, Joseph Telio has created a new brand, Jovane, with the idea of transforming what he had in mind: portability of classic jewelry. And with an ambition: to present the public with valuable collections, yet at prices no exaggerated. The result is a small company with high hopes and a discreet positioning between the specialized companies, particularly in the realization of rings. The Jovane brand it really offers so many, in most cases with the same category: white gold, yellow or pink, with white diamonds, blacks or brown, but other colors such as blue fancy. As an alternative to diamond rings are adorned with precious stones, such as rubies or emeralds. The workmanship is very used in pavé. The jewelry form is quite traditional, but with its own style, recognizable. Giulia Netrese

By Kirk Kara the most rewarded rings

You want to know what are the engagement rings the most awarded in the world? They are those of Kirk Kara. It is the only jewelry designer who arrives in first place for nine consecutive years of Jck Jeweller Choice Awards, prize for the best for engagement or wedding ring. If you do not know Kim Kara, now you have some pictures that helps you. The story of the brand is long: it begins in 1890, when Kirk Karaguezian, grandfather of the current owner, opened a small workshop of jewelery engraved by hand. Designs inspired by the very specific sculptures that are part of the Armenian culture. In 1915 Kirk, however, was killed in the genocide that has dogged the Armenian people. But the son, Artin, was able to escape and opened a new workshop in Beirut, Lebanon, was then the Paris of the Middle East. Thanks to his talent has also been known by travelers and visitors from Europe. In the eighties, however, the family emigrated to the United States. And their art, especially those applicable to the rings for special occasions, has become famous. This year, the Jck award has been won with a sophisticated engagement ring pink diamond. But also the rest of the production is finished on the podium. Margherita Donato

Picchiotti becomes more expansive

The tradition embraces the 21st century in the Xpandable collection by Picchiotti. A wide range of rings band and bracelets, to suit all sizes of wrists and fingers thanks to a hidden mechanism constructed with the utmost care, as well as the setting and the cut of the stones are executed with the perfection of fine jewelery. The design is original, the technology is advanced because the jewelry is flexible and provides maximum comfort and fit, crafting instead is the classic one. And in fact, they are made by the same goldsmiths that have replicated over the years one of the icon jewel of Valenza brand: the Rose brooch  with a pavé 400 diamonds pavé.

Of course, the Xpandable collection is certainly more wearable, from  bangles to rings band with diamonds, rubies and sapphires, emerald cut, sapphires buff-top cut, which is slightly cabochon on top and faceted at the bottom to give more luster and shine to the stone, the juxtaposition of coral, turquoise, onyx, black enamel, white and green mother of pearl, with pink gold and diamonds. Some models are more sporty with geometric details, other very elegant, others more subtle and stackable, but all precious, feminine and very beautiful. M.B.

(Italiano) Tutti al circo di Copenhagen

From Copenhagen to Basel: here is presented the latest collections of Ole Lynggard, Danish brand that stands for a rather refined image, more than other competitors born in the same city. The novelty of 2016 is called Magic Circus and, as its name suggests, is inspired by the circus world. But to the ancient circus world. So much so that Ole Lynggard has decided to set the presentation of the collection with an advertise campaign on a old wagon in 1950, with a model (she seems not as a circus woman, actually) wearing the jewelry. The collection includes necklaces chain in yellow gold bracelets with tiny diamond stars, rings with precious stones. Inside Magic Circus stand out different lines: Elephant, Shooting stars, Blooming, all designed by creative director, Charlotte Lynggaard. The atmosphere is exotic and a little sensual, retro style, and it was portrayed by fashion photographer Anders Overgaard, while the model is Swedish, and his name is Mona Johannesson. Difficult, though, that you can meet her at the circus. Rudy Serra

(Italiano) Garavelli in orbita con un pendente

The Drago Collection has become a classic brand Garavelli Aldo (https://gioiellis.com/garavelli-95-anni-con-il-drago). But like all continuous collections, it is renewed. The style remains the same, but you add new pieces, which the company of Valenza is carrying around the world, from Hong Kong to New York and VicenzaOro, of course. Drago is also a very innovative collection from the technical point of view, 18 carat gold elements that run like the surface at scales of a dragon, in fact. The pieces take on different colors, from gold yellow gold rose to paved diamonds, the color black, smoked or champagne. Among the novelties of Garavelli is also a tribute to the Star Wars space saga: an elaborate pendant six-pointed gold pink and white and brown diamonds that would like for sure Princess Leia (and not only her). The Minù games

/

Giovanni Ferraris is a noble and valuable brand of homonym Piedmont company. But it is also the “father” of a brand dedicated to the young, or at least at an affordable price, without losing sight of what is the trademarks of the made jewel in Valenza. The young way by Giovanni Ferraris, from some time, is called Minù. But do not think either one of the many proposals of silver jewelry (or even steel), perhaps with a little galvanic gilding to make golden tone. No, here there is gold, although you can choose from two versions: a 9 carat, less expensive, and a 18K. Minù offers real jewels with precious stones like diamonds and topaz, along with natural semi-precious stones. A true jewelery, in short, but with greater accessibility than the elaborate and valuable suggestions of the parent company Giovanni Ferraris. Just look at some collection that we publish on this page, and which are part of lines with names that also play on the similarities with the brand sound:SognaMi, DoreMinù, amaMi, MInuetto, MInousa… Margherita Donato

Preview: Bronzallure new collections

It’s already time for the spring-summer of Bronzallure. The young jewelery brand, born only four years ago in Milan, is preparing to market the new season in 2016 with a series of pieces that we present a preview. For the summer designers Atelier Bronzallure were inspired by an urban environment, with the use of semi-precious stones such as chalcedony, aquamarine milky and rose quartz. Rings, rose gold plated, are all made of natural precious stones and bright colors. The rings Mon Contrarié, for instance, use chalcedony, quartz and zirconia. Remember that the brand uses a special metal alloy, called Bronzallure, rosé hue: the idea is to combine the strength of bronze in a wet mixture in 18 carat gold. The alloy was produced with the help of the University of Padua, who has developed this process, and has also been patented (patent number 1415168). Now the brand that was founded on the initiative of the Milan of Lebanese origin Milor Group aims high and has booked a place in the next Baselworld. Giulia Netrese

Jewels on the fly with Blackbird

If Katy Perry sign a collections of jewelry with Claire’s, another American singer though far less famous, Marie-Juliette Bird, decided to emulate and become a jewelry designer. The result is a collection with a name reminiscent of the singer: Blackbird and the Snow. While many lines of modern jewelry are created using a computer and a software program Cad, for Blackbird and the snow they have been used traditional techniques. The jewels are rhodium black, with cut stone and delicate chains. As well as a singer (as you can see from the movie), Marie-Juliette Bird was decade in London to work under the guidance of master jeweler David Courts, the one who created the strange ring with skull shape of Keith Richards. While was in London, Marie-Juliette also collected jewelry from the Victorian era from antique markets. From these pendants he was inspired to create her own line. Who also was liked to Vogue Us, where she appeared in the May. Insects, wings, stars and moons are elements that appear in the collection, together with the use of recycled metal and stones ethically certified. Each piece is designed and hand crafted in the United States. Lavinia Andorno

Fabergé forever

Fabergé, ancient Maison, who was resurrected from the group Gemfields, uses a tongue twister to publicize his creations: the big rings of Devotion collection, with emeralds, rubies and sapphires. His campaign, in fact, has the slogan “Forever. And ever “, that means Forever. And ever. The collection focuses on color throughout, without longing for the very famous eggs collected from the tsar, that made him famous worldwide brand. The motto of advertising, however, refers to those special moments in life when the words “forevere and ever” mean a turning point: weddings, anniversaries, engagements. The stones, set in elegant frames of white gold, on which small diamonds are sorted, they become signals that remind these moments for being together forever.

Necklace or candy?

/

[wzslider]Remember the candy bracelets? It was every’s little child dream but, it seems, continue to be appreciated by the older girls. As the Scottish designer, Rosie Kimber, which creates earrings, necklaces, rings and brooches made of brass, resin, silicone and crystal sugar in abstract forms, but composed of elements so colorful they seem edible. The shades are lit: fluorescent pink, orange sorbet, candied violet, all inviting colors such as sweets of childhood. Not surprisingly, the collection was called Sugar. But do not let yourself be tempted: they are stodgy. L.A.

Theo Fennell, a book in a ring

Theo Fennell is a jeweler who lives in London with his wife Louise. Fennell is one of the most original designers and saw rapidly growing success, so much so that at one point he decided to list his company on the stock market, but without great success. Remain a success, instead, his imaginative creations. As these jewels that were embedded inside the cavity as caskets: are whole fantastic worlds that refer to the Wizard of Oz, or the Chronicles of Narnia. Or a ring dedicated to two of the animals of the English literary tradition: the good-natured Mole and Toad, arrogant but lovable. Perched on a golden bridge in miniature, the two characters seem locked in deep conversation. The ring is made entirely of gold, with a dome, which can be opened, surrounded by small diamonds. In short, the rings that will make happy those who love to read, or at least show off the refined cultural preferences. Among other things, these rings are also very refined also from a point of view craft: the construction of small abbreviated architecture requires hours of work. The price is proportionate to the creativity and commitment needed for this series of literary rings. They cost about 20 thousand euro. Giulia Netrese

Pandora Fall 2015

Pandora has showed officially also in Italy the the collection Fall 2015. As we anticipated, the themes are those of the forest, enchanted, where live there fairies, and legendary phoenix with its mighty wings. And the new collection is inspired by the real feathers with jewels that imitate the shape finished in every detail. For example, the ring has 132 cubic zirconia stones mounted by hand. But in reality, the manual processing is applied to all the different models because, it says the company, is focusing on the rings: in the past the focus was on full charm and drawings were almost abandoned for reasons perforated, to give a ‘ idea of lightness and allow greater freedom in matching bracelets. For two seasons however, the group of Copenhagen has expanded the number and styles of rings. There are many, the new versions of the continuous lines as Shimmering Leaves and Lace, those with pearls in two sizes, with double wings of the Phoenix already mentioned, the two kinds of tiara, those brand new but with a decidedly vintage, classic frames of traditional jewelry with cubic zirconia center stone of colorless or cushion cut diamond, surrounded by other stones that are also on the stem. And more, whiskers gold and sterling silver with geometric patterns, small balls or cobbles and band rings openwork version romantic or modern. The glitter of the stones is the common denominator throughout the season for the new coin charm with synthetic quartz faceted center surrounded by pavé. Here are pictures of the upcoming season.
