Stephen Webster, the Prince of London jeweler, is inspired by the British Isles. He presents new jewelry collections that pay homage to the best of British history, culture, art and design. What does this homage consist of? A series of high-quality pieces, with a design that takes inspiration from images of classic England. For example, a set with a marquise-cut rainbow that depicts the iridescent plumage of the pheasant, a bird that is always present in the English countryside. But not only that: the Lady Stardust collection is inspired by a British icon, but of another kind, like David Bowie. In fact, one jewel depicts the famous lightning motif on the famous cover of the album Aladdin Sane. «I was intrigued by the image and the story of Albion Rose, an illustration by William Blake that depicts a mythological giant, Albion, who in ancient times gave his name to the island that became England. So I started to create a collection inspired by alternative interpretations of being British,” explains Stephen Webster, the house’s creative director.
