Ornella Bjoux at Super
Ornella Bjoux is one of the most renowned brands in the world of high costume jewelry. And thanks to the talent of its designer, Maria Vittoria Albani, who confides to Gioiellis her projects, it was selected to participate at Super, the event organized by Pitti Immagine and Fiera Milano, dedicated to young talent and product innovation. «Every jewel is in its little the realization of my vision of nature and art which draw inspiration from the colors, shades and shapes as well as the choices of materials try to reproduce the beauty of these two worlds», says the designer. But why a historical shop in Milan, was chosen from 100 aspirants exhibitors? Just visit the atelier (open to the public by appointment) to understand the motives: Albani’s creations, born in 1929, are unique pieces with techniques generate of 70 years of study and dedication to craftsmanship and unusual or reinvented materials, from enameled metal, shells polished, painted wood, Murano glass, vintage ceramics, Swarovski crystals. Gioiellis saw a preview of the collection that will be presented in September at the fair in Milan: an explosion of colors, a triumph of nature, where owls, spiders, carp, dragonflies and beetles are interpreted in a formal way, with a realistic result and the the same time cheerful and fun. How could it be otherwise if the carp, golden metal instead of the scales has multicolored pearls and is wearing a crown? Designed as a brooch, one of the passions of Albani, that creates it so that you can wear two or three together, could became a penditif from a chain attack. There is s ring porcupine shaped with quills cognac color really harmless, a giant spider with a marbled pink and brown body and legs decorated with glitter, which leans from the finger to the hand , and roosters oversize earrings, framing the face with mother pearl plumage. And yet, the ivy made with green beads pavé on which rests a snail, romantic pastel colored butterflies flutter on a necklace, and set of glittering beetles. So, wear them is like a game. But beware: «The woman today must be able to choose the accessories that are not based on fashion but following her heart, so what door is the mirror of what we feel inside» says Albani. The problem is that looking at the shelves of its windows, there are hundreds and hundreds of pieces, each handmade and with a unique style. Impossible to resist the temptation to try on them all.
