Okay, you don’t have to believe it, but there are those who have designed jewels that capture the kinetic energy of the human body. Strange, right? And even more unusual is the shape: they are worn at the beginning of the nose, between the two eyes. Or hanging on the back. If you like them, know that they were developed by the Israeli industrial designer Naomi Kizhner in Jerusalem. She claims that our body is a source of natural resources. The prototype developed by Naomi, for now, is a completion of a work that focused on the global energy crisis. The result is that we ourselves are a source of renewable energy, at least as long as we can move. The jewels are made of gold and printed on 3D biopolymer. They are fixed to the skin through a simple needle perforation. Energy is captured through simple and unconscious movements, such as the heartbeat or blood flow.
There are three different pieces in the collection, each of which has its own peculiarities. Blinker is placed on the bridge of the nose, between the eyebrows and the eyes and generates electricity by blinking the eyes. E-Pulse is instead at the base of the neck, along the spine and generates electrical energy from the neurological system. Finally, there is the Ponte Blood model, inserted in the forearm to collect energy through the blood pumped into the veins. According to the designer, the most important part of this project is not only the technology used, but in human psychology. The invention brings to the fore some questions, such as: who will be willing to sacrifice our body to produce more energy? In short, if you want to become small alternative energy power plants, all you have to do is try…
