The Cut, (and the challenge), is the latest collection of the Greek designer Lito Karakostanoglou. A tribute to Lucio Fontana, to his paintings with those fissures so clear and precise, changed the way of thinking canvas on which was painted for centuries and conceived them as a space element, that due to the cut becomes infinite. But it is also an allusion to the female sex, for those who love to shock. To the designer are the purple diamonds set in the 14-carat gold opening of rings, pendants, bracelets and earrings emulating the Concept Spatial of the Italian painter and sculptor. An intellectual exercise that in practice turns into sensual objects, almost erotic, or at least look like this in photographs. But once worn they lose that aspect so provocative, maintaining the allure of feminine jewelry. Provocation or homage to art space? You decide. Monica Battistoni
