Countdown to VicenzaOro Winter, scheduled from 18 to 23 January 2014. This year there will also be a novelty that should be of great interest to producers: the introduction of 3D technology. 3D printing is, in fact, already used in jewellery. The Polytechnic University of Milan has therefore carried out research for the Vicenza Fair on new technologies, materials, and jewellery. The result: the exhibition «Around the future: 3D printing for jewellery», curated by Alba Cappellieri, scheduled within VicenzaOro Winter. The exhibition presents the works of 32 international designers who have designed jewellery with 3D printers, a technology that allows for optimising time and costs and customising products quickly. Also on display will be some of the printers that make these productions possible, such as the Vicenza-based DWS Systems or the Padua-based 3D Fast. 1,500 brands are expected in Vicenza.
