The hands of Vo Vintage point to 9.30 on January 19th, when the space dedicated to vintage watches organized by the Italian Exhibition Group is scheduled to return (until January 22nd) at Vicenzaoro. As in past editions, Vo Vintage is a space dedicated to enthusiasts and collectors of timepieces, as well as vintage jewellery. The fifth edition, the organizers announce, will always remain in the foyer location on the first floor of Fiera Vicenza and is the largest ever. The Vo Vintage space, unlike Vicenzaoro, which occupies the area on the ground floor, will be occupied by around forty national and foreign dealers.
For jewelery lovers, the presence of companies such as Il Mercante, Gioielleria la Perla, Gioielleria Piccolo and Aroli Jewels is expected, alongside consolidated presences such as Ela Antichità, Art Deco’ Bijoux, De Maria Fine & Antique Jewelry, Generoso Gioielli, Luise Gioielli , Micol, Preziosi D’Epoca, S. Vaggi & F.Gli, Scala Gioielli & Figli, Tempi D’Oro and Spangaro Jewels.
For vintage watchmaking there will be Mr. Tempo Prezioso, Spangaro Watches, Tenerife Watches, Mida Gioielli and the return of Maurizio De Angelis, as well as Tempus Orologi d’Epoca by Elvio Piva, Vintage Watches by Stefano Mazzariol and Vintage Watches and Cars by Andrea Foffi, Goldfingers Watches by Roberto Verde, Davide Pedretti Luxury Watches, Gioielli e Dintorni, Le Muse, Lo Time by Luigi Loiero, Lucas Relogios-Lucas Re, Mda. Furthermore, talks, meet-ups and workshops are planned for this edition too.
Alarm for the fake watches
Alarm for fake jewelry and watch. The counterfeiting business is on the rise and also involves the jewelery sector. The numbers, announced during an event organized as part of Vo Vintage (the space dedicated to vintage watches and jewelery parallel to Vicenzaoro), leave no doubts: globally, the fake market is worth 464 billion dollars, 134 billion in Europe and 32 billion euros in Italy. «Counterfeiting is a scourge for the watchmaking sector, our duty is to tell the consumer about the phenomenon and educate him on a safe and informed purchase», explained Mario Peserico, president of Assorologi. «Often the final consumer does not notice the mistake when he buys counterfeit products, especially since the web has become the main sales medium. This is the phenomenon of hidden links: posts on social networks that offer the sale of products, such as clothing, shoes, watches, with a code inside. If you click it, a catalog of apparently original, but actually fake products appears. The low price can be alarming. This is why it is essential that sales platforms do everything possible to eradicate the presence of counterfeiters».
According to Bruno Bergamaschi, one of the most recognized watchmaking experts in Italy, «counterfeiting is a problem that is difficult for enthusiasts to solve, the safest thing is to rely on official networks or physical points of sale who can give a guarantee, otherwise it’s really easy run into fakes, even for an expert. Blockchain technology is the only way to protect the consumer and also the brand».

Vo Vintage program
The stopwatch has already started to count down. And timepieces are the protagonists of Vo Vintage, the appointment introduced three years ago by Ieg as an experiment and which has proved to be a valid contribution to Vicenzaoro. So from 20 to 23 January Vo Vintage will be staged for the fourth edition, one day more than the previous ones. The event is always scheduled in the foyer on the first floor of the fair and is aimed at watch enthusiasts, collectors and traders. Unlike Vicenzaoro, in fact, in this case the entrance is open to the public and not only to operators.
35 brands and dealers will be present at Vo Vintage, including Vintage Watches by Stefano Mazzariol, Tempus by Elvio Piva, Goldfingers by Roberto Verde and Vintage Watches and Cars by Andrea Foffi, who returns to Vicenza also as a collector with the second part of the Magister Speedmaster Exhibition (the first at Vicenzaoro September 2022) dedicated to the most famous Omega watch models from his private collection. Representing vintage jewelery are also Art Deco’ Bijoux, Montegrandi Gioielli, Micol, Gioielleria Faelutti and I Santi Medici. Also present with a selection of ten exhibitors is the Watch Passion association, which brings together and promotes the best watch dealers.
Saturday 21 January
The event dedicated to watches (but also to vintage jewellery), has a series of meetings on its agenda. Saturday 21 January Jacopo Spangaro, organizer of The One auction-event and owner of the Spangaro watch shop in Udine, Antonio Follari and Giancarlo Befera, collectors and members of the L’Orologio Club, moderated by Dody Giussani, will talk about What characteristics a collector. The latest trends on the high-end international market will be addressed by Stefano Mazzariol, founder and CEO of Vintage Watches, Elvio Piva, founder and CEO of Tempus Padova, and Roberto Verde, president of the Watch Passion association, in a meeting moderated by Michele Mengoli and Jacopo Giudici , respectively director and founder and publisher of Watch Insanity. Also on Saturday 21 January, the talk is scheduled with speeches by Franco Armentano, founder of DHM, Fabio Bertini, manager of F.lli Pisa in Milan and Michele Corvo, owner of Corvo & C and GMT Italia.
On Saturday 21 January, in the Collecting out of the box talk curated by Andrea Casalegno, watch lover, consultant and signature of IamCasa on Instagram, he will discuss with three young influencers how the way of collecting has changed and the growing role of social networks: Alessandro Fanciulli, collector and hunter of valuable pieces, Joël Laplace, collector and assistant manager at the Zenith Heritage Department, and Lorenzo Maillard, collector and content specialist at Watches and Culture, the cultural hub of FHH.
Sunday 22 January
Bruno Bergamaschi (aka Giorgione), one of the most recognized watchmaking experts in Italy, founder of Watchouse and ambassador of Vicenzaoro for the passion and culture of watchmaking, will instead be among the protagonists of the meeting on Sunday 22 January on the theme Defending passion for counterfeiting and theft, together with Mario Peserico, president of Assorologi, and Lorenzo Lucchinelli, founder of Ipsum – Identity for luxury goods.
With Italian Watch Spotter, space is given to collections from the 1990s and 2000s and to contemporary designs that evoke vintage. For technical training, the appreciated course held by Professor Ugo Pancani, of the Genevan FHH – Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie and member of the GPHG Academy, returns on Sunday 22 January. Sunday 22 January will be the turn of Vintage Game Changers, with another key voice that has changed the rules of the game in the field of collecting: Jasper Lijfering, owner and CEO of Amsterdam Vintage Watches, one of the most prestigious vintage watch boutiques luxury, with an online offer of high-end pieces for collectors from all over the world.
The new Vicenzaoro will have more time
Vicenzaoro returns to its usual place in the calendar and prepares for the next appointment (20-24 January 2023) with some news. This is the new Time community, dedicated to contemporary watchmaking with distribution, which integrates the merchandise offer of the event, which sees the confirmation of VO Vintage (January 20-23, one more day than past editions), an event that takes place in the adjacent spaces and is dedicated to vintage timepieces and jewelery, open to the public. But now Vo will be joined by a B2B area for contemporary watchmaking. Furthermore, as reported to gioiellis.com, the new edition of Vicenzaoro should re-propose the original formula, with personalized booth set-ups for each exhibitor.
Vicenzaoro thus returns to be the forerunner of events dedicated to jewelry. For the occasion, Ieg, the company that organizes the fair, proposes the format The Jewelery Boutique Show. In short, after the long interlude conditioned by covid, the Italian jewelery fair is back to normal, including the program of talks and workshops with international experts and opinion leaders. And with Vicenzaoro will be back T. Gold, the international exhibition of technologies and machinery for goldsmithing, the main showcase of innovation for the sector.
Vo Vintage returns to Vicenza
Together with Vicenzaoro, vintage jewels and watches are back. The Vo Vintage event, first introduced in January 2020, just before the outbreak of the pandemic, takes place in parallel in Vicenzaoro. It is housed on the first floor of the Vicenza Fair, in the foyer, and provides the possibility of access for the public, while Vicenzaoro is reserved for professional users. The new edition of Vo Vintage is scheduled for three days in September (9-11), while Vicenzaoro will continue two more days (9-13). The attendance of the first three editions (this is the fourth) was encouraging and the organizer of Vicenzaoro and Vo, that is Ieg, decided to insist on this path.
Also in the September 2022 edition there will be retailers, but also watch collectors such as Sandro Fratini, with his son Giulio, and Auro Montanari, watchmaking opinion leaders such as Bruno Bergamaschi (aka Giorgione), experts in the technique and watchmaking history such as Ugo Pancani of the Geneva-based FHH (Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie) and the master watchmaker Luca Soprana. Among the exhibitors, Ieg signals the entry of new dealers such as Robert Maron Watches and Andrea Foffi with Hipster, and confirmations such as Lucas Relogios and Lo Time by Luigi Loiero for watchmaking. And, on the jewelery front, by Ela Antichità, Karma Pearls Limited, Montegrandi, F&F by Francesco Pontillo, Barbara Bassi and Art Decò Bijoux for period jewelery and high vintage jewelery. VO Vintage has selected some independent high-end contemporary watchmaking brands from Ahci (Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants).
For timepiece enthusiasts, on the other hand, an exhibition is planned: Magister Speedmaster Exhibition. Birth and evolution of an Icon, promoted with the contribution of Andrea Foffi, owner of Vintage Watches and Cars, with 15 specimens from his private collection representing the history of the Speedmaster: from its debut in 1943 with movement designed by Albert Piguet and which has remained an evergreen to this day. In addition to the exhibition, events related to the world of watches are scheduled.
The VO Vintage program
As he had already anticipated, Italian Exhibition Group confirms with the next Vicenzaoro January (21-26 January 2022) a new edition (the third) of VO Vintage, an event open to the public dedicated to fans and curious of vintage watchmaking and jewelry. The foyer on the first floor of the Vicenza Fair will be reserved for VO Vintage, where Vicenzaoro also takes place, which however is reserved for professional operators.
VO Vintage is also a response to the market that seeks sustainable purchases (given that jewels and watches are already made), but also to those who collect precious items as investment goods. Stefano Mazzariol, one of the greatest Rolex Daytona experts in the world, antique dealer, dealer, expert and consultant of vintage watchmaking, is confirmed among the expected guests. An in-depth session on Newman Master is reserved for him with Carlo Pergola, co-author with Mazzariol of the book Rolex Daytona, from birth to myth.
Some events are planned in the VO Vintage program. On Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd, courses will be held with trainers from the Capac (Polytechnic of Commerce) in Milan to learn the basics of mechanical watchmaking and acquire the skills to assemble and disassemble a mechanical movement. The courses are open to all enthusiasts and no technical skills are required. On Sunday 23 January, however, two technical sessions will be held to learn about the most fascinating mechanisms of watchmaking: the chronograph, the tourbillon and the perpetual calendar. The speaker will be Ugo Pancani of FHH (Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie, which organizes Watches and Wonders in Geneva).
VO Vintage is also an opportunity to admire and learn about the goldsmith-jewelery tradition of the past and to be seduced by the charm of those precious items that have gone down in history as symbols of their era, still current today due to their uniqueness. In fact, there will be selected market operators specializing in period jewelery and high vintage jewelery, including Ela Antichità, Art Decò Bijoux and Montegrandi.
Among the partners of VO Vintage there is also Ahci, Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants, a historic Swiss association dedicated to perpetuating the art of independent watchmaking, and the new Watchouse Forum dedicated to watch enthusiasts and founded by Jacopo Giudici and Giorgione, key opinion leader in the sector.
Vo Vintage is back, here are the news
Together with Vicenzaoro September (10-14 September 2021), Vo Vintage returns, the second edition of the event conceived by Italian Exhibition Group, the company that organizes the jewelery fair. Vo Vintage was born as a space dedicated to collectors, lovers and curious of vintage watchmaking and jewelry. For this reason, unlike Vicenzaoro, reserved for operators, Vo Vintage is open to the public. It will take place from Saturday 11 to Monday 13 September. The four most important dealers in the sector are expected, great enthusiasts even before being market operators, each with a selection of rare and highly sought-after watches such as Stefano Mazzariol, Maurizio De Angelis, Elvio Piva and Corrado Mattarelli. But also selected market operators specializing in vintage precious and high vintage jewelery, including Montegrandi Gioielli, Luise Gioielli and Barbara Bassi.
As in the previous edition, there will also be meetings on the world of vintage with experts and leading figures in the sector, including Dody Giussani and Mario Peserico. Also on the agenda are two training sessions of the highest quality in partnership, each with a prestigious institution: Sunday, technical training held by trainers from the Capac of Milan, Polytechnic of Commerce and Tourism, which represents Lombard excellence in the field of training services in the watch industry. On Monday there is the Watch Essentials Class, an unprecedented course held by Fhh, Federation Haute Horlorogerie, a Geneva institution that has been promoting and disseminating watchmaking excellence and its culture around the world for over ten years, with an exceptional trainer: Ugo Pancani. , professor in Mechanical and Electronic Watchmaking and Ambassador of the same Fhh.
Furthermore, three Vo Vintage partners are Ahci (Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants), a historic Swiss association dedicated to perpetuating the art of independent watchmaking, the new Watchouse Forum dedicated to watch enthusiasts and founded by Bruno Bergamaschi, key opinion leader in the sector, WP (Watch Passion) trade association for traders of new and used, contemporary and vintage watches. But there is also another novelty: Vo ’Clock, a B2B area dedicated to contemporary clocks, a community that already has 25 independent brands on display.
A great little success. The first edition of Vo Vintage, a mini fair inside the VicenzaOro fair, met with great public interest. The area dedicated to watchmaking and vintage jewelery was, in fact, a gamble. Organized in a floor open to the public of VicenzaOro (which is instead an event reserved for operators), and in a more limited period (18-20 January) it saw the participation of 30 exhibitors. A success that pushed the organizers of Ieg to already plan the next edition.
Vo Vintage has attracted collectors of vintage jewelry and watches, a growing market estimated in our country at 1 billion euros. Not only fair, however, but also cultural events, such as Vo Vintage Talk, a dialogue between Michele Mengoli, one of the greatest Italian watchmaking experts and Sandro Fratini, famous Italian collector of vintage watches, with a heritage of over 2000 pieces from the worth approximately 1 billion euros, among which the Rolex, Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet brands stand out. The new format could also count on the valuable contributions of Giulio Papi, director of Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi, Stefano Mazzariol, one of the greatest experts of Rolex Daytona in the world, and Bruno Bergamaschi, with his Watches & Passions forum, Ugo Pancani of the Foundation de la Haute Horlogerie, by the president of Assorologi Mario Peserico.
Even jewelry and watches for VicenzaOro
Italian Exhibition Group launches Vo Vintage centered on vintage jewelry and watches together with VicenzaOro January. It will be open to the public ♦ ︎
Jewels and vintage watches. Collectible jewelery and watches. Jewels and watches that fill the spaces. Italian Exhibition Group has thought about how to expand the VicenzaOro business, a leading event that, however, suffers from the economic situation and some defections (less than Baselworld, however) among the historic jewelery companies. Unlike VicenzaOro, which is dedicated to sector operators, the area for vintage jewelery and watches will be open to the public. The idea could also be related to the postponement of the Sihh at the end of April, the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie which until last year took place in Geneva almost simultaneously with VicenzaOro. And that by 2020 is planned from 25 to 29 April.
The novelty consists of Vo Vintage simultaneously with VicenzaOro Jenuary. The new exhibition area is scheduled from Saturday 18 to Monday 20 January 2020, a shorter time span than VicenzaOro January (17-22 January). The idea is to attract enthusiasts and, of course, companies active in jewelery and vintage watchmaking. For example, there will be Verga Vintage’s master watchmakers who will fix prestigious period clocks live and historic collectors like Sandro Fratini, who boasts a collection of 2 thousand watches for an estimated value of 1 billion euros.
Also present at Vo Vintage will be the main institutions of the sector, such as Assorologi, which for years has been fighting on the themes of the intellectual property against counterfeiting and the trade of fakes, the prestigious Ahci, Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants, which brings together the greatest masters independent watchmakers from all over the world, Orologi & Passioni the main forum of enthusiasts in Italy. Vo Vintage will be organized in the foyer of the first floor of the fair, “in an exclusive and reserved context”.
