The gems of Pamela Huizenga

The dance of the stones drives Pamela Huizenga fantasy: unique pieces with gems at the center of her creativity ♦

At 16, in Florida, Pamela Huizenga had already shown her passion for stones. The minerals were collected, as long as were a bit shining, and brought home. She did not suspect, though, that after a few years would become a well-known and appreciated designer. Actually there is a pause in her history: after studying the cutting of stones and the secrets of an accomplished artisan goldsmith in North Carolina, she was married and had three children.

But the passion for the stones has prevailed. The start of the conversion to jewelry designer was a bit casual, with the purchase of an Ethiopian opal on eBay. It was 2009. From this stone began the path that has turned into a jewelry professional, that only creates unique pieces. His creations are made between Florida, New York and Bali, where work an artisan woman specialized in the processing of silver pieces. Needless to say the center of its jewels include especially stones, especially those who have something special: turquoise, jade, opals of different types (Ethiopian or Mexican), but also fossils and petrified wood are the basic elements upon which you exercise the fantasy of Pamela. The prices of her jewels start at about $ 4,000.

The West in Lisa Eisner’s eyes

//

Cheyenne. New York. Paris. Los Angeles. Former Vogue editor. Fashion expert. Rodeo photographer. Book publisher with Greybull Press. And finally, jewelry designers. Lisa Eisner, who lives and works in the city of California, describes herself in these words. Despite many passions, multiple activities and even more numerous projects, the designer launched her first handmade jewelry collection in 2014. And she continued. She loves a certain western atmosphere: the turquoise also are liked by Native Americans, ancient minerals set in bronze or gold. From Wyoming, where she was born, she uses black jade. And even (more rarely), she inserted painted feathers into the jewelry.

Since, with her husband, 30 years ago she moved to Los Angeles, a step away from Hollywood, to inspire her on how to design her jewels was a movie myth: Tony Duquette, costume designer, set designer and also an eclectic jewelry designer . Her pieces are large, original, with a vintage air and a little wild at the same time. Exactly what is expected of her.

Art Deco by Roberto Coin for Emily in Paris

Roberto Coin from jewelry shop windows to television screens. However, it is not the Venetian jeweler who appears in a Netflix series, but a special series from his Art Deco collection. It is a new version of the collection, with turquoise and diamonds, which has become part of the second season of Emily in Paris, a very successful series. It is the story of the loves, friendships and sentimental adventures of Emily Cooper, a young Chicago girl who works in marketing and public relations, who moves to France to assist a small boutique agency in the heart of the city.

For the second season, Roberto Coin’s Art Deco collection was chosen, which is also one of the brand’s best-selling collections. Salvatore Collaro between pearls and coral

Coral and pearls: Salvatore Collaro continues the tradition of jewelry with the sons of the sea ♦ ︎

If you, in italian language, anagram the word coral, you can get Collaro. Who knows, maybe that’s also what the Collaro family has tied to the red son of the sea. Founded at the end of the 1950s by Salvatore and Lella Collaro, the Torre del Greco (Naples) company continues to observe the tradition of the founders. The coral, however, has adapted to the times and the jewels have a modern look, with volumes not prone to chisel work but rather with smooth, smooth surfaces.

At Centro Orafo il Tarì, where Salvatore Collaro has the headquarters, another type of sea fruit is still working: the pearl. Australian, Chinese, Japanese or Thaiti, pearls are used for jewels created by the fantasy of Liliana and Lucia, who continue the family tradition. Jewelery with pearls also have the advantage of being interpreted in a younger, lighter way, while jewelery with coral, often adorned with a diamond pavé, are more demanding. Here are some of the latest creations of the Neapolitan Maison.

Bali collection by Giovanni Raspini

Giovanni Raspini on holiday in Bali. And, for the occasion, the Tuscan king of silver reduces the weight of the metal for a flash collection, the first promoted in the middle of summer. The Bali collection indicates a path of research and experimentation, which focuses on the design of volumes and color combinations. There is silver, but it is in thin discs that alternate with stones, in natural or golden color. The collection has an almost ethnic flavor, deliberately naive, and plays with the colors and irregularities of the stones used for bracelets and necklaces.

The collection features three twin sets: each is declined in a necklace, a bracelet and a pair of cascading earrings, with the combination of hammered metal discs and colored stones. Bali Red is in gilded silver, sand-colored jasper and red madrepora. Bali Blu uses silver in its natural color, along with turquoise and green jasper.

All about turquoise

The turquoise, stone of the month of December. Find out why turquoise can be easily altered and how to clean and store it ♦ ︎

It is the stone that, according to tradition, accompanies the month of December. But turquoise has an even older history than the (recent) custom of combining a stone for each month of the year. In fact, turquoise has been used since antiquity as a precious and ornamental stone.

Orecchini in oro bianco, argento e turchesi
Hemmerle, orecchini in oro bianco, argento e turchesi

History. The Egyptians at the time of the Pharaohs obtained it from the mines of the Wadi Maghara, in the Sinai peninsula. The oldest turquoise is the one used for a bracelet that dates back to about 8000 years ago, discovered in Egypt. And another jewel with turquoise was found in the sarcophagus of a mummy of 7,500 years ago. The blue stone was also used by the Aztecs, the Maya and the Incas, as well as among the Native Americans. It was also known to the ancient Romans: it was used for a bust of the Emperor Tiberio, preserved at the Silver Museum of Florence. Other turquoise stones are found in the Treasure of San Marco, in Venice.
The name. Why is turquoise called with this name? Simple: the word comes from the French term to indicate Turkey. In fact, the mineral was introduced to Europe via Turkey, from mines in the province of Khorasan, in Persia. The first use of the word turquoise to indicate the stone is from 1573.

Where is it. Turquoise is usually found in arid regions, in filler cavities, often with associated limonite and other iron oxides. The largest production is located in Iran, Egypt (Sinai), United States.
Features. Turquoise is a blue-green mineral. It is opaque, with a uniform blue color or some brown or black dendritic veins of limonite. It is very rare in the form of transparent crystals. Its porosity often causes alterations to the original color. The turquoise reaches a maximum hardness of 6 on the Moh scale (the diamond is at 10). In practice it is slightly harder than a window glass. The color is variable: from white to sky blue, up to yellowish green.
Use. The most used cut is cabochon, ie with a curved surface without facets.

Vhernier, orecchini con pasta turchese. Prezzo: 900 euro l’uno

Turquoise care. Since it is a medium hard stone, turquoise is usually treated to improve color and strength. Attention, therefore, because it is difficult to provide all the information to those who buy a jewel with turquoise. For example, turquoise is often subjected to waxing and oiling, to improve color and shine. This is a traditional and generally accepted treatment. However, oiled and waxed stones tend to “sweat” if they are exposed to the sun or to a source of heat. In this case they can develop a film or a white patina. In that case it is better to bring the jewel back to an expert who can make the stone bright again. But there are also turquoises treated with plastic or glass. This process consists of impregnating under pressure the chalky material, an epoxy and plastic resin (such as polystyrene) and glass powder (sodium silicate). Plastic and glass water treatments are much more durable and stable than wax and lubrication. But it is a non-natural method, which is rejected by many. Most of the turquoises in the United States are treated with this method. There is still an even stronger method: using Prussian blue or other dyes. Obviously in this way the stone is even more altered than its natural state.

Orecchini in oro e turchese di Ileana Makri
Orecchini in oro e turchese di Ileana Makri

Treatments for turquoise. The residual fragments of the processing, too small to be used individually, are pulverized and mixed with resin and color to form a solid mass. However, this procedure should be clearly explained. Usually, however, the use of this paste is hidden behind the description of “reconstituted turquoise”. In reality it has little natural stone. In the USA it is often also glued to a material that is the basis of the jewel, to increase its solidity.
How store the turquoise. Turquoise is quite delicate: it is fragile and sensitive to solvents. Perfume and other cosmetics are enemies of turquoise: they can alter the color of the stone. Even the sweat can affect the turquoise. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can discolor or dehydrate the stone: it is better not to wear jewelry with turquoise on the beach or in other places exposed to the long sun. The turquoise should be cleaned gently with a soft cloth to avoid the accumulation of residues and must be stored in a separate container, to avoid scratches from harder buds. But, beware: better let it breathe, so avoid an airtight container.

Tamara Comolli with new colors of India

Tamara Comolli brings India to Arizona. But without moving continents: the link between the two geographical areas is represented by a new version of the popular India Snakewood bracelet. It is an elastic bracelet with single or triple turn, which mounts turquoise gems. And, in particular, turquoise is the gem you can found in Arizona, United States: it was not by chance that it was for centuries the semi-precious stone preferred by the Indians, but those that are born in America. The bracelet is also embellished with gold spheres, but its peculiarity is another: it can also be used as a necklace.

The grandmother’s turquoise for the Queen

Queen Elizabeth appeared on television for a message to the nation. And to make news are (also) her jewels. On the other hand, it was inevitable that, in addition to attention to the topic addressed by the queen (the coronavirus emergency), attention was also focused on the look of the sovereign. Also because the choice of jewelry for such an important moment could not be accidental. And the queen’s main choice fell on pearls. In fact, it is said that they are always fine.

But not only, together with the necklace with three strands of natural pearls, Her Majesty wore a brooch that comes from his vast collection of jewels. It is the brooch that belonged to Queen Mary with turquoise and diamonds. Queen Mary, wife of George V and grandmother of Queen Elizabeth, received the brooch in 1893 as a wedding gift from her in-laws, the future King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, at that time Prince and Princess of Wales.

Queen Elizabeth inherited the brooch, which however remained in the drawer (at least it was not worn in public) until 2014. In this case the brooch was in tune with the turquoise green color of the dress. As a stone, turquoise is often associated with calm, but also with wisdom, care and healing. And it is no coincidence that the queen spoke of the coronavirus.

Real and false stones, how to recognize them

How to recognize a real stone from a fake? Some tricks are often used for jewels and can deceive those who are not experts. Here’s what to check ♦ ︎

Beware of false stones. But also to those who are half-faked. Perhaps you do not know that the ways to simulate precious stones on jewels are many. Here are some aspects you need to consider.

Analisi di un diamante
Analisi di un diamante

False stones. Plastic and glass are materials often used to simulate precious stones. Technology today allows you to create something in the laboratory that is not distinguishable from stones such as rubies or fossil resins such as amber. Naturally, an expert jeweler or a specialized laboratory can identify whether they are authentic stones or imitations. If you have doubts, ask for an expert advice.

Orecchini oro e ambra
Orecchini in oro e ambra

Artificial stones. Cubic zirconia and synthetic moissanite (there is also the natural one, rather rare) are two of the stones created in the laboratory and which have characteristics similar to authentic gems, such as diamonds. Similar, but not the same. Of course, if you want to sell them, they have a very low value, but at the time of purchase, only a gemologist can distinguish a cubic zirconia, often passed through a zircon, which is instead a natural stone. How to be sure not to be cheated? Simple: a diamond, even a small one, always has a certificate attesting to its characteristics such as transparency, color, clarity and, of course, the carats. Cubic zirconia, no.

Anello con cubic zirconia
Anello con cubic zirconia

Composite stones. One of the trends among jewelers is the proposal to superimpose different stones or materials. It is a way to reduce costs: it consists of a kind of sandwich of different stones: which is more valuable is above, the one that serves to create thickness is below. The goal is to make the stones used on the surface appear larger, adding an imitation or a cheap gem, perhaps in the lower part of the stone, hidden by the setting. This system is less common for transparent stones, while it is more easily used in opaque ones, such as opals or turquoise. Sometimes the authentic stone is just a small layer that is glued onto a less valuable mineral. Another system, on the other hand, concerns transparent stones. To obtain an interesting shade, one expedient is to glue two or three different stones with a special invisible adhesive, so as to make them look like one and transform them into a “precious” stone with a fascinating nuance. The best brands do not hide this choice. But how to avoid cheating? In addition to relying on a brand that enjoys your trust, it is good to carefully observe, perhaps with a lens, the processing of the jewel.

Il diamante composito naturale-artificiale
Il diamante composito naturale-artificiale

Fantasy stones. Another idea of those who do not want to be transparent with those who buy jewelry is to change the name of the stones. If you read that a ring has an “oriental emerald”, for example, know that it is a green sapphire, which is less valuable. Other examples: an “American ruby” is actually a garnet, which is worth much, much less. And the “Australian jade”? It is simple treated quartz. Conclusion: when you read slightly exotic names of stones, which you have never heard, check on Google. Or on Gioiellis.com, of course.

Andreoli, anello con opale rosa
Andreoli, anello con opale (vero) rosa

Reconstituted stones. There are stones that are stabilized or rebuilt, as often happens in turquoise. Stabilization consists in subjecting the stone to a pressure to make it more compact and eliminate the chalky consistency. Furthermore, often turquoise or other soft stones are reconstituted by mixing powder with a binder. In short, they are a kind of pasta, to which dye is often added, to make the color more vivid.

Anello con la cosiddetta giada australiana

How to defend yourself. It is not easy to recognize these tricks. A very low price is already an indication that something is wrong: no one will give you for less money a precious stone and the probability that a jeweler offers substantial discounts on an emerald, diamond or ruby is as rare as water in the desert. The certificates, for very expensive stones, are a good start to avoid the purchase of fakes. The opinion of a jeweler who can guarantee the authenticity of a jewel is another element to keep in mind. Finally, greater security can it guaranteed by a expert gemologist. Giulia Netrese

Pomellato renews the series of rings in the Armonie Minerali collection to celebrate its first 50 years ♦ ︎

Pomellato renews the Armonie Minerali collection to celebrate 50 years of life. The new series also has a specific inspiration, they are considered a Portrait of the company: 50, one for each year of the Maison’s life. The rings use stones such as turquoise, jasper, malachite, lapis lazuli, agate, rhodochrosite. The secret of the collection are the refined combinations between the different stones. In addition to the rings, pendants of the same style are also available. For example, half opal, half cachalong divided by a strip of sapphires.

A turquoise for your tanning

Turquoise, the perfect stone to bring out the tan of summer. But pay attention to … ♦ ︎

Which jewel is better for your tanning? The answer is easy: the turquoise (if you want to know everything about turquoise click here. It is one of the stones used in jewelry since antiquity. But the word turquoise is more recent: it dates back to the seventeenth century and derives from the French word used for Turkish, that is to say, from Turkey, and this is because it was brought to Europe right through Turkey, from mines in the historic province of Khorasan in Persia.

Orecchini con turchese, oro rosa, diamanti

The turquoise color has always been used to bring out the hue of the skin darkened by the summer sun. The contrast between deep blue color and brown or beige nuances is immediately visible.

Collana con turchesi e pelle abbronzata
Collana con turchesi e pelle abbronzata

But, be careful: even if the combination of tanning and turquoise is perfect, it isn’t advisable to wear jewelry with turquoise in the sun. There is a reason: often the turquoise stone is treated to improve its color with oil, wax or plastic. The use of wax is a treatment used since antiquity. But the stones treated with oil or wax tend to “sweat” if they are exposed too much to the sun and can develop a white patina on the surface. Of course, you can always bring from the jeweler to restore the original color, but it is better if you can avoid it.
In other cases what you think is a turquoise is, instead, residual powder of the working held together by glues, resins and coloring materials: this is more likely if the jewel has cost very little. It is not true turquoise, even if it is sold as if it were real stone. Also in this case there is a greater risk of damaging the jewel with exposure to the sun or water.

The Mediterranean by de Grisogono

Three pieces of de Grisogono high jewelery dedicated to the Mediterranean sea ♦

La Maison de Grisogono is based in Geneva, on Lake Geneva, but its founder Fawaz Gruosi (now exited from the company), is an Italian of Lebanese origin. Italy and Lebanon, two countries overlooking the Mediterranean sea. Perhaps as a reflection of these origins, between sea and blue sky, strong colors and primary tastes, de Grisogno offers three high jewelery creations dedicated to the Mediterranean, with turquoise stone in the center. The blue of turquoise is combined with the warmth of amethysts or pink sapphires, it evokes the richness and the Mediterranean flora, or, in a creation, it matches the depth of emeralds and blue sapphires that reflect the magnificence of the sea.

Collier in oro bianco 18 carati con 11 turchesi, cabochon (circa 276,45 carati), 217 zaffiri rosa (circa 2,64 carati), 228 ametiste (circa 3,74 carati) e 563 diamanti bianchi (circa 27,54 carati)

The necklace is composed of 11 cabochon cut turquoises. Each of the natural stones has been selected for its size and for the depth of its colors. Each individual stone is set in a fan of amethysts and pink sapphires as a tribute to the Maison’s famous Ventaglio collection.

Anello in oro bianco 18 carati, 1 turchese cabochon (circa 18,08 carati), 18 diamanti bianchi (circa 2,35 carati), di 49 zaffiri rosa (circa 3.519 carati) e 131 ametiste (circa 8,61 carati)

The ring takes up the pattern of the Ventaglio (fan) collection. At the heart of the jewel is an exceptional cabochon cut turquoise. On the two sides of the stone there are the flounces of the fan composed of diamonds, pink sapphires and brilliant-cut amethysts. With an exquisite finish to the touch of the hand, the eye discovers that the wings of the jewel are entirely covered with amethysts also in the lower part.

Orecchini in oro bianco 18 carati e titanio con 2 turchesi taglio goccia (circa 66,84 carati), 418 smeraldi (circa 7,01 carati) e 480 zaffiri blu (circa 11,69 carati)

The earrings evoke the waves of the sea with pendants of turquoise, sapphires and emeralds set with the technique of neige serts, joining like two sensual currents going up towards the ear. The jewel is fluid and light thanks to the titanium structure.

The new Enchanté by Chantecler

//

The Enchanté collection by Chantecler expands: here are the jewels inspired by a street in Capri ♦ ︎

Every year the nostalgia of the sea, of the white Mediterranean houses, of the scents that only summer can bring, is accompanied by the rediscovery of a now classic collection by Chantecler, Enchanté. The Maison born in Capri years ago proposed an original series of jewels that are inspired by the irregular shape of the small stones used to pave a small road carved into the rock of the small island, which connects the Marina Piccola harbor. Stones that have a variable perimeter, but that manage to fit together next to each other, in an essential mosaic.

The name of the Enchanté collection probably derives from the enchantment that visitors who travel the road of Capri experience. The collection renews itself over the years, but it always remains anchored to its original design: domed rings, wide-band sculpture-rings, earrings, chokers, bracelets, all with a pavé decoration of white diamonds interrupted here and there by insertions of stones like turquoise, red and pink coral, kogolong, onyx. Here are the new pieces from the collection. Giulia Netrese

The new Perlée by Van Cleef & Arpels

//

New bracelets from the Perlée collection, one of the successes of Van Cleef & Arpels ♦

A bit ‘is also credit of the most famous Egyptian pharaoh, Tutankhamen, if the Maison Van Cleef & Arpels has created a line of jewelry that appears to have eternal life, as the fame of the Nile King. The Perlée collection, born in 2008, in fact, is inspired by Twenties when, for hemming some jewelry was used the Egyptian-style decoration, which became fashionable after the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb (1922). This shape, with small spheres together to form a border or the shank of a ring, he has created more than half a century later to the Perlée collection. The idea, perhaps thanks to the influence of Pharaoh (who knows), was successful. Perlée was multiplied in Perlée d’or, Perlée couleurs, Perlée diamants, Perlée Trefles, Perlée signature …

In 2019 the Maison introduced a new design of the bracelet in pink, yellow or white gold, to accentuate both semi-precious stones and diamonds.

In 2016, instead, three Entre les Doigts rings were introduced, plus a pendant set with diamonds and matching button earrings. The ring Entre les Doigts is composed of two reasons stem from an open, with two cabochon: one is a hard stone, the other is composed of gold and set with diamonds. For example, yellow gold with malachite, white gold with turquoise, pink gold with carnelian. The pearl shape is revealed on the outline surrounding the two hemispheres. There are, then, the buttons earrings, which always use the cabochon shape, with yellow, white or pink, plus setting of diamonds. One of the aspects that has made the success of the collection, according to Van Cleef & Arpels, is also the ability of this line of jewelry to fit in unusual combinations with other models.

Also according to the Maison, for example, Perlée button earrings nicely blend with embedded or engraved creations as the ring Perlée Trèfles, the Perlée signature bracelets or ring Frivole diamonds. Etc. You can also combine three rings as a sandwiched: two Signature amid a Perlée couleurs. Just try.

//

The Perfetta collection by Morellato, perfect for spring and summer. Images and price ♦ ︎
Since it is Perfetta, Morellato’s spring-summer collection could soon be imitated by many. Who knows. The jewels from the affordable price of the Venetian company have white mother-of-pearl mounted on circles of different sizes in 925 silver. The Perfetta collection consists of pendants, earrings, necklaces, rings and cuff bracelets. The earrings are both in the lobe version finished with zircons, and in the double-round version. There are two proposals for necklaces: a pendant with a chain over long combined and the one with a smaller pendant, with zircons. Both chains are adjustable sliding to define the length quickly. Prices: necklace with mother of pearl 79 euros, bracelet 79 euros, earrings 69 euros, ring 49 euros. In addition to the mother of pearl in the collection are also used coral and turquoise, that is red orange and deep blue: colors usually preferred or, better, perfect for the summer. Just as the collection seems to indicate. Lavinia Andorno

Rebecca overlooking the Mediterranean

Rebecca prepares for summer with two collections dedicated to the Mediterranean ♦ ︎
You may think more of something when it is far away. Summer, for example, is more desired in winter than when the hot season has already begun. Perhaps this aspect can be kept in mind when you take a look at two Rebecca collections, both dedicated to the Mediterranean. The warm colors of summer can be worn in the form of floral elements, oval cameos in coral paste that evoke vacation spots, beaches and sun. It’s out of tune with winter? Not really: rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets are made with warm and luminous shades: turquoise, red and pink corals are combined with gold reflections and the gleam of opalescent zircons. But Rebecca also offers a Mediterranean line that turns black. It can go very well even when the snow falls. The jewels of the two collections are designed and made in Italy. The materials used are rhodium-plated bronze, steel or gold, zircons and coral paste. Margherita Donato

At Coro he designs Palladio

The Palladio di Al Coro collection presented at VicenzaOro by the German-Italian brand ♦ ︎
Andrea Palladio, a great architect of the sixteenth century, who had actually the most prosaic name of Andrea di Pietro della Gondola, is a symbol of Venice, but especially of Vicenza. Between the two towns are spread churches and, above all, the great villas that have made famous Palladio. Not only: during VicenzaOro, also you can found Palladio in one booth. Palladio it’s the name of collection presented by Al Coro, a German brand of Italian origin. It is the legacy left by Giuliano Corolli to his sons Alexander and Daniel, who continue the activity of his father, who was born in Vicenza.
The Palladio collection has nothing of classical architecture, although the turquoise blue color refers to the Italian sea, and light processing is inspired by the traditional jewelery in the Vicenza area. The gold chains have small hearts, flowers and endless signs, delicate earrings are made with a cream-colored mother-of-pearl inlay. Price: necklace with pendant about 1000 euros, necklace with different elements with turquoise rises to 4210, earrings between 1820 and 3000 euros. Lavinia Andorno

Vhernier, three bracelets for Itaca

Vhernier sails for the Onlus Progetto Itaca with three Mini Calla bracelets. Images and price ♦ ︎
A jewel for a good cause. Vhernier has created a series of three Mini Calla bracelets in limited edition to support the Progetto Itaca Onlus. The Foundation from 18 years supports people with mental illness and their families. Itaca Project has managed to assist more than 100,000 people, over 19,000 in 2016. It involves 1,520 volunteers, about 50 prevention, training and rehabilitation projects. Part of the proceeds from the sale of Vhernier bracelets will serve to support Onlus’s business.
Pink gold bracelets recall the colors of the Progetto Itaca logo: the classic cones of the Calla line, one of the continuous collections of Vhernier, are made of turquoise paste, lapis pasta and kogolong pasta, a volcanic stone with white color. “Associations like the Itaca Project, fueled by the passion and dedication of many volunteers, deserve to be supported and encouraged by the private but also by the companies because they play an essential role for society. I think it is a moral duty for all of us entrepreneurs to return to beneficial work at least some of what we get through our business, “says Carlo Traglio, President Vhernier.
The Mini Calla bracelets will be available in the flagship store of the Maison of Milan, or customized in the boutiques of Rome, Venice, Capri and Porto Cervo. Price: 600 euro. Lavinia Andorno

New Vhernier Earrings

A new version of Vhernier earrings from the Vague collection, with turquoise paste. Images and price ♦ ︎
Five years ago Vhernier proposed a pair of limited edition earrings in conjunction with the most famous Italian brand of boats, Riva. They were earrings from the classic Vague collection of Vhernier, but asymmetrical: one was made of turquoise pasta, the other in white gold. Now the brand of Valenza and flagshipstore in Via Monte Napoleone, in Milan, relaunches blue earrings. But the occasion is the opening of the store in Porto Cervo, the port of Costa Smeralda, Sardinia, frequented by notoriously rich tourists. The Vague earrings are perhaps among the Vhernier collections, the one that has long life. However, they are renewed not in the design that simulates a soft wave, but in the materials. In September 2016, for example, were added earring made in titanium, one of the materials used by Maison for its collections. This new version of turquoise paste is sold individually (ie not for pair) at 900 euros. Alessia Mongrando

Chantecler more Enchanté

In Las Vegas, Chantecler also brings the renewed Enchanté collection ♦
In the year of her 70th birthday, Chantecler was sailed from Capri to land in Las Vegas, although there are not sea over there. One news are the red coral earrings and diamond paved on pink gold enriching the already thick Enchanté collection . The collection is inspired by a romantic rock-dug road linking the old town center with Marina Piccola, in Capri. The path is paved with irregular stones and goes down to a blue seas and is unforgettable.
Those variable-shaped stones have become elements that make up a series of jewels in the Maison, which have as a common element a pavé of white diamonds interrupted by placement of hard stones or coral. A tribute to the island of the Mediterranean that saw the birth of the brand, but also to the enchantment that is felt, more generally, facing the sea and the sun. The colors used in the collection are very strong: from red coral, to turquoise, to black onyx, to the kogolong, a white volcanic stone, glossy like ceramic but durable like marble. After all, the Vesuvius volcano is not far away. Giulia Netrese
