Here, then, the first novelties of VicenzaOro September, which this year is anticipated from 7 to 11 September. The Design Room, located inside the Icon pavilion, will complement some of the most important international innovations with appearances now consolidated in Vicenzaoro such as Marie Mas, Lydia Courteille and Alessio Boschi. Among these, also Tomasz Donocik, a Polish designer who lives and works in London, already named Jeweler of the year in the United Kingdom: we have written about him other times on gioiellis.com. Stylistically very contemporary, with a language that speaks to a sophisticated and mature public, he works in an artisanal way, exclusively in 18-carat gold, pink or white, use the best precious stones and has succeeded over time to innovate while respecting the harmony of forms.

Also Yeprem, a Lebanese designer famous for his diamond creations, and the Greek Lefteris Margaritis will also be present in the Design Room. Sicis, Mattia Cielo and Alessa Jewelry are also back. Finally, the presences of Eclats Jewelry, Cedille Paris and Netali Nissim are planned, with its iconic collection of prêt-à-porter talismans.

At VicenzaOro January there is also Sicis Jewels, a Ravenna company specialized in micromosaic technique. The tiny Venetian glass tesserae that make up figures and a kind of pavé, according to an ancient type of workmanship, decided to participate in the jewelery fair to present the latest collections.

The micro mosaic tiles are used by Sicis Jewels along with precious stones and gold.

In addition to unique pieces of fine jewelry, the Maison offers entire collections, always handmade with endless combinations of colors and shades. VicenzaOro warms the engines and anticipates the names of the 12 creatives who will be in the Design Room in January. The Design Room, introduced a couple of years ago by the previous management of the event, is a space dedicated to niche brands, and of high value. Young designers, but also established names in the jewelry scene, but always with strong creative skills.

So here are the 12 designers of VicenzaOro January: Alessio Boschi, Alessa Jewelry, Anna Maccieri Rossi, Bee Goddess, Cedille, Lydia Courteille, Eclats Jewels, Mattia Cielo, Magerit, Marie Mas, Monica Rich Kosann, Sicis.

Some, like Alessio Boschi, Alessa or Magerit, have already been present at the Design Room of VicenzaOro, while others are making their debut. For Mattia Cielo, for example, it is a return to VicenzaOro after many seasons of Baselworld, while for the micromosaics of Sicis it is an absolute first.
The characteristics of the designers are also very different: Alessio Boschi or Lydia Courteille are part of the world of high jewelery, even if with creative features that make them unique. Bee Goddess or Anna Maccieri Rossi proposes, instead, an original fine jewelry, Magerit prefers a late baroque sculptural style, Monica Rich Kosann is a brand of fine jewelry of wide consumption, Cedille puts the accent on an ethnic style, and Mattia Cielo on a technological design.

The Universe collection by Sicis: the micromosaic becomes a modern jewel ♦ ︎

Sicis Jewels micromosaic abandons the concept of a single piece to become a collection. This time the Maison of Ravenna presents Universe, a line of jewelry that includes bracelets, rings and earrings made in gold, precious stones and micromosaic. In Ravenna there are some of the most precious mosaics in the world and the Italian city has preserved the tradition of the art of composing images with small tesserae.

The micromosaic makes appreciate this ancient art and combines it with the professionalism of goldsmiths.

The jewels made with this technique are, therefore, special not only for their shape, but also for the meticulous care with which they must be made. But even if the micromosaic refers to an ancient tradition, the Universe collection is tuned with our time. The jewelry line, in fact, was created with the creative contribution of Katerina Perez, a name known on the web among jewelry experts. Two new pieces of high jewelery made by Sicis with the technique of micromosaic, combined with diamonds and rubies, the Arabesque parure ♦ ︎
The micromosaic becomes a jewel: it is one of the Sicis skills, a company from Ravenna specialized in the art of combining tiny colored pieces. And it is no coincidence that this skill is developed in a city that houses some of the most beautiful and important mosaics in the world. Given this, here is the new effort of Sicis: the Arabesque set. It is a pair of earrings and a ring, which whit the micromosaic design have an oriental echo. The micromosaic, supported by a set of white gold, is also embellished with lines of white diamonds and a red rubies. The same composition is repeated for ring and hanging earrings, which use rubies at the height of the closure. In this case the geometric drop shape is made with diamonds, which is superimposed on the jewel: it’s a movable set and therefore oscillates according to the movements of the wearer’s body. Sicis’s micro mosaic is made in Ravenna, a city that houses some of the most famous Romanesque mosaics in the world. It’s not a casuality. Virtuosism in the realization of these micro mosaics manifests itself from time to time in the creation of fancy jewelery, where the merit is not only in the materials used, but also in the difficult to applying the technique to the high jewelery. After a series of animal-inspired jewels, now is a plant, the oldest in the world: the fern, which dates back some 350 million years ago. It is made up of hundreds of hand-laid worked micro-tiles, which form the leaves: a special spinning and cutting technique makes it possible to obtain shades of several colors a single splinter. On these soft shapes are cut emeralds drops-cut.

The gods, impressed by such courage, they promoted the fish, transformed as dragon, a symbol of those who aspire to achieve great things and is not afraid to face the adversities of life. To this story is inspired by the Koi necklace, constancy and perseverance emblem. The jewel is entirely in white gold, while the line that draws a branch of coral is covered in Micro Mosaic, 14,69 carats of white diamonds and 13.84 carats of orange sapphires. Sicis has accustomed us to unique pieces. Unique and amazing. This time it is the case of Cosmic Egg. That is not going to end up in a pan, but means “the cosmic forces of nature and regeneration by means of them.” The jewel is designed and manufactured by the Atelier Sicis: the company of Ravenna, it should be remembered, is specialized in mosaics and micromosaics. A processing technique for this very complicated and rather rare. But this series, in addition to being complicated to implement, it is also valuable: it is composed of over 900 diamonds (totaling 9.25 carats) and 1200 sapphires (for 23,22 carats), seven Tanzanite cabochon of 43.77 carats. The tanzanite, a recently discovered stone considered to get good luck, is extremely rare and sought after for its color, an intense blue that changes when viewed from different angles. The necklace is composed of oval elements surrounded by two irregular ellipses with diamonds and sapphires, which refer to the orbits of the planets. A cosmos, in fact. Sicis also took the opportunity to add an astronomical note: according to cosmologists, over 14 billion years ago the entire mass of the universe was compressed into a volume of about 30 times the size of our sun. There is a kind of bracelet that is classified as watches, but in fact is part of the category of jewelry: now Sicis proposes three new creations to become part of this category.
