In 18 for Haute Jewels Geneva

The time has come for the small Baselworld of jewelry, as some have dubbed it. From March 30 to April 5, at the Fairmont Grand Hotel in Geneva, 18 great names in jewelry give life to Haute Jewels Geneva. This is an event born after the evaporation of Baselworld and in conjunction with Watches and Wonders, a fair centered on fine watchmaking that takes place on the same days in the Swiss city. A first experiment had already been organized in 2019, but with only four exhibitors and with the subsequent suspension due to the covid. Now, however, the organizers led by Michael Hakimian, CEO of Yoko London, are back and with greater participation.

In all, therefore, the brands present at the Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva are 18, with a majority of Italian Maison: Yoko London, Roberto Coin, Sutra, Crivelli, Bayco, Etho Maria, Stenzhorn, Marco Bicego, Mariani, Palmiero, Picchiotti, Gorgoglione , Hans D. Krieger, Leo Pizzo, Verdi Gioielli, Annamaria Cammilli, Barakà, Sicis.

Roberto Coin’s fiesta in Navarre

Among the new jewels by Roberto Coin there is a collection that has miles of history and stories behind it. The novelty is called, in fact, Navarre. It is the name of a region of the Basque Country, in the north of Spain, famous for its traditions and its epic. The capital of Navarre is Pamplona, where once a year the famous bull races take place in the streets during the Fiesta celebrated by Ernest Hemingway (they are called encierro and there are six, one a day). And he was the son of Navarre Don José, the protagonist in love, like everyone, with Carmen in the homonymous opera by Georges Bizet. We could go on.

The myths of that land, in any case, are inspired by the collection of jewels which incorporates the ancient coat of arms of the kingdom, consisting of 16 chains arranged in a radial pattern and surmounted by a large crown. The collection, presented in 2022, is now enriched with new pieces. The chains, therefore, are the dominant motif of the collection but, of course, reinterpreted: solid as in the bracelets and rings, or mobile as in the earrings and necklaces. Although inspired by the past, the jewels have a contemporary and powerful look precisely because they lack artificial details and instead have an imposing essentiality. Like the character of the people of Navarre.

Haute Jewels expands with Barakà and Sicis

The group of brands that will participate in Haute Jewels Geneva, an event designed for an international audience, at the same time as Watches and Wonders, focused on fine watchmaking, is expanding. The two events will take place, in fact, on the same dates, from March 30 to April 5. Two Italian companies are now added to the patrol of brands announced in the autumn: Baraka and Sicis. The first specializes in jewelry for the male world. The second, on the other hand, is famous for the use of the micromosaic technique. In all, therefore, the brands exhibiting at the Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva will be 18: Yoko London, Roberto Coin, Sutra, Crivelli, Bayco, Etho Maria, Stenzhorn, Marco Bicego, Mariani, Palmiero, Picchiotti, Gorgoglione, Hans D. Krieger, Leo Pizzo, Verdi Gioielli, Annamaria Cammilli, Barakà, Sicis.

We are delighted to have had the opportunity to add two more prestigious global brands to the line-up at Haute Jewels Geneva. Sicis and Baraka will bring added allure and excitement to the group and it promises to be a magnificent event

What promises to be a small exclusive fair was born from the need of jewelry companies to present themselves to an audience that no longer has the stage of Baselworld, which ended two years ago, at its disposal. A first taste of Haute Jewels Geneva took place already in 2019, with the first four jewelry brands (they were Yoko London, Crivelli, Sutra and Roberto Coin), while in the two previous years the idea was frozen by the epidemic. Visitors, in the organizers’ program, “will experience an intimate and luxurious environment for jewelry buyers and suppliers to conduct business, a concept that seems even more relevant after the restrictions imposed by the pandemic. With the opportunity to see each other face to face again, it promises to be a dynamic event, which combines the strength, creativity and experience of the participating brands “. Visitor registration is done on the site dedicated to the event.

Roberto Coin on the moon with Pois Moi

///

One of the funniest collections by Roberto Coin, Pois Moi, is renewed and adds a new line. Pois Moi Luna adds variations to the collection that was born from the inspiration of the old sixties television screens. Those square boxes, but with a rounded edge, have been transformed by the Venetian jeweler into a series of jewels with a hint of non-conformism. In the first version of Pois Moi, gold was an absolute element. Then came a second more luxurious release, covered with a diamond pavé, also with a retro flavor, but this time with a touch of the Thirties.

Bracciali Pois Moi Luna in oro e diamanti
Bracciali Pois Moi Luna in oro e diamanti

Pois Moi Luna, third version, instead has a retro-futuristic approach: they mix the charm of vintage with spatial atmospheres, with jewels that reproduce the lunar surface with its gold craters, surrounded by a pavé of diamonds or by the smooth surface of the metal in pink, yellow, or white version. A motif that is also repeated inside the jewels, with the result of lightening their weight and making them more pleasant to wear.

Haute Jewels Geneva with 16 major brands

Farewell Baselworld. The Maisons of jewelry organize their fair, in combination with Watches and Wonders, the event dedicated to the top timepiece brands. The novelty, on the other hand, is called Haute Jewels Geneva, the international fair of high jewelery, which will be held at the Fairmont Grand Hotel from 30 March to 5 April 2022, simultaneously with the event dedicated to watches. In short, no return to Basel. The first taste of Haute Jewels Geneva was in 2019, in January, with the participation of four brands (Yoko London, Roberto Coin, Crivelli and Sutra). The idea was liked and in 2020 the event was to be repeated with eight brands. But the pandemic forced the appointment to be canceled both in 2020 and in 2021.

In 2022, however, Haute Jewels Geneva will return with 16 major jewelry brands: Yoko London, Roberto Coin, Sutra, Crivelli, Bayco, Eto Maria, Stenzhorn, Marco Bicego, Mariani, Palmiero, Picchiotti, Gorgoglione, Hans D. Krieger, Leo Pizzo, Verdi, Annamaria Cammilli. The decision of the brands marks, perhaps, the tombstone on the former great Baselworld watch and jewelry fair. On the other hand, the world changes quickly.

The new Princess Flowers by Roberto Coin

Beautiful things do not go away. And the things you like are renewed over time. Years ago Roberto Coin launched the Princess Flower collection, which met with widespread approval. The collection, therefore, was cultivated as a plant that ripens fruit every year. In fact, also for the 2021-2022 season, the Venetian Maison presents new pieces from the collection. But these are not just small variations on the theme, because completely new elements have also been introduced. However, the creative style that characterizes the Princess line remains unchanged, including the Princess Flower variant, which consists of the characteristic processing of the twisted thread, a tradition of ancient Venetian goldsmiths, used here as a three-dimensional frame surrounding the icon of the flower.

Orecchini in oro rosa con pavé di diamanti e lapislazzuli

The collection is always inspired by the floral decorations of the Venetian palaces. The small decorative flower designed in Princess jewels is reworked to become the protagonist of the collection. The corolla is revealed in all its shades made of gold and precious stones. The production process of Princess Flower involves a work of perfect balance between the technology that develops the entire internal structure of the jewel and the hands of the craftsmen who assemble flower by flower and decorate its petals, which feature a pavé of diamonds, or surfaces made with malachite, onyx, mother of pearl.

Vicenzaoro September, here are the first brands

The trade fair sector wakes up, with Vicenzaoro ready to return from 10 to 14 September, in attendance. Waiting for other jewelry big names to return to occupy the booths of the fair. We are confident that in Vicenza we will reap the first fruits of the sacrifices made in this year and a half of restrictions given the good feeling of the market for the Italian product and the willingness of companies to get back into the game to return to business in person and safely.

According to the latest sample survey prepared for Federorafi by the Confindustria Moda Study Center, in January-March 2021 24% of the Italian companies interviewed reported an increase in turnover compared to the first quarter of 2020. And the sentiment of the sample sees 25% with a start of recovery already in spring 2021, 39% starting from autumn 2021. About half of the sample (48%) reports a renewed dynamism of foreign markets, United States, France, United Arab Emirates / Qatar on the others.

Other confirmations come from foreign buyers, who are planning their visit to the event. The VBI, Vicenzaoro Buyer Index, which periodically detects the attitudes of a representative panel of global operators, highlights in June that confidence in future business has more than doubled compared to last year. The propensity to participate in the fair in presence from the Middle East and North America, but also from Europe and Italy, is growing at the same pace. According to a survey by Confcommercio Federpreziosi, the participation intentions of retailers and operators are positive: 75% plan to return to the Vicenza pavilions to renew or expand the product range (33.2%), but above all to resume relations direct professionals with suppliers, customers, colleagues (41.7%).

Tassels and fringes for Roberto Coin’s princesses

//

There are women who tend to extreme judgment on themselves: they feel like Cinderella or princesses. Sometimes a jewel is enough to help the former to consider themselves better. And Roberto Coin‘s Princess collection can be the right way, also because the series of jewels, divided into different product lines, is designed to be clearly visible and, therefore, self-rewarding. The Princess collection is now enriched with tassels, fringes and pendants that accentuate the romantic style, with art deco accents of the jewelry. Necklaces, bracelets and rings are available in rose, yellow or white gold, with brilliant cut diamonds set nicely in the metal.

Each jewel is engraved by hand through a delicate manufacturing process, which is inspired by the decorative lace of the flowery Gothic, used by the ancient Venetian palaces. The articulated structure hidden in the inner part of each jewel was also used in the Venetian Princess and Princess Flower lines.

Love in Verona for Roberto Coin

//

Roberto Coin‘s tour of Italy through the places most loved by tourists and art lovers makes a stop in Verona. The city of love, the literary homeland of Romeo and Juliet, continues to attract sighs and visits to the supposed balcony mentioned in William Shakespeare’s tragedy. Here, then, is the Love in Verona collection. The city was once part of the Republic of Venice. And, therefore, also from an artistic point of view it maintains an affinity with the atmosphere of the lagoon city that has marked the Palazzo Ducale collection.

Even the jewels of the Love in Verona collection, for example, take up the four-petal diamond flower, already used in other collections of the brand. But the constant repetition of this flower over the entire surface of the jewels is also an aesthetic reference to the architectural structure of the Verona Arena, another emblem of the city. The jewels are offered in the three colors of gold, shiny or satin. Diamonds are used in abundance, for ultra bright surfaces, alongside sapphires, emeralds and rubies.

Roberto Coin renews Sauvage Privé

Launched in 2018 with the idea of a transgression authorized to the canons of classic jewelry, the Sauvage Privé collection by Roberto Coin  has been renewed over the years, but without losing the restless luxury character that characterized it at its debut. In the first version, for example, black jade was used for the decisive shape of the jewels, a stone difficult to cut, together with malachite, together with pink and white gold in which small diamonds were set.

Rose gold charm earrings with diamonds

The jewels of the Sauvage Privé collection were then enriched with other variations. For example, with a more precious version, the latest in the series: Roberto Coin now offers jewels made exclusively in pink and white gold with the addition of diamonds. The lines of the design are always very aggressive, with asymmetrical volumes, but without forgetting the right balance of geometries. In short, the result is a line of jewels a little less sauvage, but a little more private.

Voice-Vicenzaoro with 300 companies and many big names

Vicenzaoro has been suspended. Long live Vicenzaoro. Which, however, in September is called Voice. If the health emergency led Ieg (the company that organizes Vicenzaoro) to transform the format of the event by also changing the name, the companies in the sector have a strong need to show their production to buyers, that the appointment is called Vicenzaoro o Voice doesn’t matter. This is what can be deduced from the announcement that, in July, the companies that have chosen to exhibit their jewels at Voice-Vicenzaoro International Community Event (12 to 14 September) exceed 300.

About 300 companies means a very limited drop of about 15% compared to last year’s attendance. And taking into account that the major fairs, not only of jewelery, have been postponed to next year, number of registration to Voice is a success, perhaps unexpected. In short, Vicenzaoro, ops, Voice has a strong attraction. The names that have already reserved their space also testify to this.

Roberto Coin gives 100 pendants to American nurses

/

Roberto Coin gives 100 Princess Flower collection pendants in 18 carat yellow gold to as many nurses. But only American nurses. The initiative, between marketing and charity, was adopted for the United States. Until May 6, which is National Nurses Day for the US, the Italian jewelry brand has asked to identify a hundred nurses. The road to selection goes through Instagram. Those who know a nurse and want to propose it to Roberto Coin must provide their social network address and that of the chosen one.

In addition, anyone proposing a candidate will have to tell the nurse’s story with a maximum of 200 words. “During the COVID-19 crisis, nurses are leaving their homes and families every day to make the ultimate sacrifice for others. While many of our daily lives have drastically changed, our nurses are still showing up and standing up for their patients” you can read on the press release from Roberto Coin who announced the contest. Warning: the initiative is valid only for the United States: therefore, if you know a nurse from another country, will be you to giving her a gift.

The new petals by Roberto Coin

/

Launched in 2018, the Roberto Coin Petals collection is enriched with other floral elements. The jewels-petals with their lanceolate shape, have in fact also become a rich necklace in white gold with pavé of diamonds, which is added to the rings with three elements, a species of the classic toi & moi shape, but with a sort of unknow third (who knows, maybe it represents the lover). But now the number of petals is not always three, as in the first jewels of the collection: there are also rings with only two poles and a bracelet with the same form factor of the necklace, which somewhat resembles that of laurel wreaths.

The precision of the silhouettes of the Roberto Coin collection lights up in color through malachite, mother of pearl, diamonds, jade and a vivid turquoise. From the nude tones that recall the earth, the versions in which the petals are covered with pure gold, Petals goes to the most exotic atmospheres, combining the most exuberant colors in its corollas.

The new Art Deco by Roberto Coin

//

Art deco is one of the styles most used by jewelers, as evidenced by the historic collection of Roberto Coin. Perhaps not everyone knows that the name is a synthesis of Exposition internationale des arts décoratifs et industriels modernes, an event which was held in Paris in 1925 and which gave birth to this style that enhances geometric shapes. A fashion that, in particular, was in vogue in America until 1940. And that left deep traces in the world of jewelry.

Launched a few years ago with a good reception from the public, the Roberto Coin Art Deco collection has continued to renew that style made of zigzag lines, wide curves, pointed corners and soft tassels. The latest pieces have only been presented recently, but more or less every year the Venetian Maison adds some novelties. These are rings that do not go unnoticed, with tassels and inserts of black jade, malachite, mother of pearl and diamonds. Last year rings, earrings and pendants were added with diamonds and malachite or fossil coral: an unusual material, which presents on the surface like small inflorescences. Art Deco, in short, but completely original.

War of the jewelery fairs: Pasquale Bruni returns, but …

Pasquale Bruni returns to participate in an event together with other jewelers. But this are not VicenzaOro and above all Baselworld. The jeweler of Valenza, who about a year ago decided to stop the usual presences in the two major European jewelery fairs, instead decided to join Haute Jewels Geneva, together with Yoko London (who is the promoter of the initiative), Crivelli , Roberto Coin, Sutra, Bayco, Etho Maria and Stenzhorn.

Modella con gioielli di Pasquale Bruni

The surprise concerns both the mode and the choice of data. Haute Jewels Geneva, in fact, is held from 26 to 28 April, coinciding with the Sihh, the event dedicated to haute horlogerie which will always take place in the Swiss city from 26 to 29 April. Not only. Haute Jewels Geneva will precede Baselworld very little (April 30 – May 5).

And it is precisely this concentration of events that advised GemGenève, another high jewelery fair, to postpone research for the whole year (5-8 November). And so, Haute Jewels Geneva, which started last year with the presence of only four companies (Yoko London, Crivelli, Roberto Coin and Sutra), doubles this year. The idea is not to create a simple mini-fair, but to show the jewels in a more intimate and relaxed atmosphere: in fact, it will take place in the ballroom of the Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva (ex Grand Hotel Kempinski) from 10 at 20.

Roberto Coin launches a jewelry collection inspired by the sequel to the film Frozen

///

Winter is frozen for Roberto Coin. The Italian brand has decided to get on the sequel to the animated film Frozen with a special collection. Presented in the USA, the collection is called Disney x Roberto Coin Frozen 2 and includes pendants, earrings, rings and bracelets obviously inspired by the main characters of the film and, more generally, the theme of snow and ice. In short, most of the pieces can be worn even without a connection to the film being immediate. Even though it is linked to the launch of the film’s sequel to the film, therefore, it is not a collection of simple bijoux, as in similar combinations between jewelery and film marketing.

Among the jewels, in fact, there are pendants in the shape of a snowflake in white gold with diamonds, earrings with amethyst and tourmaline in the shape of a kite, earrings with the shape of crystals. The collection is coordinated on two shades: an autumn one, with yellow and orange sapphires, and an ice-colored one, in white gold and diamonds. But there is also a pendant that represents the snowman Olaf, one of the characters in the Disney movie.

But, from an apiage of years, the Roman Barocco is also a collection of Roberto Coin. And to which the House of Vicenza every year adds new pieces.

It should be added that the Roman Barocco collection derives from another Roberto Coin jewelery line, which is simply called Barocco. The jewels of the Roman Barocco collection use some styles of the architecture of Roman buildings, but are divided into two different lines. Both use for the same technique din intertwining with gold threads, between curved and sinuous lines inspired by the theatricality of Roman domes and the play of light typical of the Baroque era. The new pink gold rings in the collection also add stones like white diamonds, amethyst, carnelian, pink sapphires, lapis lazuli, blue sapphires, white quartz and rutilated quartz, mother of pearl.

New princesses for Roberto Coin

New jewels from the Princess Flower collection by Roberto Coin, with the shape of a four-petal flower ♦

Princesses love flowers, especially if they are shaped like jewels. Roberto Coin knows this, and a couple of years ago he launched his Princess Flower collection. As in all the creative bouquets of the Princess line, the characteristic twisted thread processing is also used in Princess Flower, a style which came from tradition of the ancient Venetian jewelery. But it is only in this collection that the flower undresses the clothes of the usual decor and takes the place of a protagonist.

The new jewels from the Princess Flower collection also use gold in different colors, pink and white, along with onyx and diamonds. Or instead of black stone is the malachite green, another favorite stone of Roberto Coin. Another variation is, instead, the one with the mother-of-pearl, always together with small pavé diamonds. The shape of the quadrilobate flower is declined in earrings, necklaces, rings and band bracelets, from which a pendant with the same floral motif is added.

The Art Deco by Roberto Coin

Roberto Coin’s Art Deco collection reworks the style born a century ago in Paris ♦ ︎

There are fads fleeting like winter snow. They are fashions, indeed. But there are also styles that are planted in the memory like the fences of a garden that everyone wants to visit. Time passes and the flowers of that garden continue to fascinate lovers of beauty. Art Deco falls into this category. Not everyone knows that the name derives from the Exposition internationale des arts décoratifs et industriels modernes which was held in Paris in 1925. Since then a century has passed, but the style was baptized on that occasion, and has influenced decorative, visual arts, architecture and fashion, continues to be revisited. And jewelry is no exception.

The last tribute to that taste that combines rigorous geometries with the pleasure of decoration is signed by Roberto Coin. The new collection presented at VicenzaOro is called, precisely, Art Deco and connects the vintage atmosphere with a modern and contemporary design. Precious stones and gold alternate in square or round shapes, without the reference to a style of the past compromising its freshness. Alongside gold, white or pink, jewels use a wide variety of stones, such as diamonds, tourmalines, malachite, rubies, amethysts, garnets, tanzanites, citrines, mother-of-pearl, black jade …
