Leo Pizzo, an Italian maison from Valencia, knows these things very well and for this reason he conceived the Amore collection, which uses the eternal silhouette of the heart to symbolize the passion of the couple.

Back in Italy, Marco Dal Maso has focused on men’s jewelry, which is on the rise and quite underestimated by most of the manufacturers in the sector.

He has decided to expand his production also to women’s jewelry, without however losing the decisive style and the handcrafted aspect of his creations and some references to myths and dreams. Dreams have surprising shapes, unpredictable developments, color sensations. And the jewels of the Milanese Maison Dreamboule are like dreams captured within small stages. Miniature shows, to be worn like a jewel. The rings conceived by Ben Crocco, a designer-entrepreneur who has a long experience in Geneva in the fine watchmaking sector, are unique in the world of jewelry. As evidenced by the new My Secret Glasshouse Limited Edition collection, presented at Vicenzaoro together with a line for men (which we will discuss shortly). These are small and efficient micro worlds synthesized into extraordinarily creative jewels.

The Glasshouse collection is a new variation on the theme introduced by Dreamboule: transparent spheres enclosing precious creatures. In this case, the Maison has used the special Nanosital glass: it is an optically transparent material, which is formed by the crystallization of glass and has superior physical and chemical properties compared to traditional crystal. It is also a material specifically optimized for jewelery and is very resistant (at 7 on the Mohs scale), plus it is faceted and scratch resistant. This transparent surface contains a secret world of insects. The bubbles hide an openable mechanism that contains the goldsmith’s synthesis of bees, dragonflies or cicadas made of gold, diamonds, sapphires, amethysts, topaz and so on. You won’t find any other jewelry like it.

Hortus deliciarum (Garden of Delights) is the title of a medieval manuscript by Herrad of Landsberg, located in the abbey of Hohenburg, in Alsace, better known as Mont Sainte-Odile. And today a pearl necklace can also be worn very well on jeans. So, wear pearls even if you are under 30.

When to wear diamonds before 6pm

Know that, according to some, this rule is still in effect. But only a few are required to respect it, for example members of the British royal family. Yes, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle (who probably does not think about it after their farewell in London) cannot wear diamond jewelry before evening, that is by convention before 6pm. What poem is more beautiful than love? It is, therefore, natural that Poesia Gioielli, a Crieri brand, dedicates a collection to the celebration of love, i.e. Valentine’s Day. Consistently, the collection is called Innamorata. The new jewelry line consists of a series of three rings and mini-hoop earrings inspired by the immortal shape of the heart. They are simple and precious jewels. The heart at the center of all the jewels is created with the use of natural rhodolite, a stone of the garnet family with an intense pink color tending towards red. The central stone is flanked by white diamonds in a game of asymmetries which are the hallmark of the collection.

Heart rings become a version of the classic diamond solitaire. The jewel is available in different versions: simple, with a pair of diamonds flanking the heart-shaped stone, or with brilliants set along the edge of the gold band. And there is also a double ring, with two circles side by side, one smooth and one with diamonds. Gold is offered in three versions yellow, white and pink. Even the hoop earrings take up the same style as the rings.

In view of the Valentine’s Day comes a love knot to wear. It is that of Breil, a Binda Italia brand, which offers the new B&ME Knot Love collection. The knot, if it is shared, is one of the symbols of the union of the couple. But in this case it is not a simple way to join two different personalities, but rather a symbolic interpretation, because the knot actually forms the stylized shape of the heart. The original design is, in fact, one of the characteristics of Breil.

The B&ME Knot Love collection is made with a steel wire that forms a heart-knot in a single movement, without interruptions. The metal is available in a glossy, silver and IP gold finish. The golden steel version of the Knot Love ring is also offered with a glossy, white or black enamel finish (49 euros). The bracelets in silver and IP gold steel have an adjustable closure with a snap hook (60 euros in silver steel, 70 euros in IP gold steel). The collection also includes semi-rigid bracelets, with a thin chain and adjustable closure (49 euros in silver steel; 60 euros in IP gold steel).

A pure love is the dream of lovers. And the color of purity is white, at least in the West. And how to combine purity with passion, sensuality, desire? Crieri takes care of it, with jewels paired with the party of lovers. High-end jewels that use the purest gem there is: the diamond, together with the precious metal par excellence, gold. White, of course. The Valenza-based company specializes, among other things, in tennis-like jewels, but not only. For Valentine’s Day Crieri suggests a necklace and ring with a classic shape and inspiration, with heart-cut diamonds, surrounded by a crown of other small round-cut gems.

The jewels are part of the Allure collection, which however also includes jewels in rose gold and with brown or black diamonds. Those proposed for Cupid’s party, however, are the white gold version and with the addition of the heart shape, which is a variant of the original line, which features more traditional cut diamonds.

In recent years, too much has been written about the separation of Ludovica Andreoni from the former president of Ferrari, Ludovico Cordero di Montezemolo. And it is unfair to label Ludovica Andreoni as an ex, because her activity is different and that of a jewelry designer in Rome. The di lei are jewels that have an undoubted value, both for the materials used, such as gold, precious stones (even small blue diamonds) and for the design, to which are added reworkings of vintage pieces.

Everything is designed in the designer’s studio in the Parioli district of Rome.

Then, the project is entrusted to craftsmen who have the task of translating the design and the mold into finished jewellery. Ludovica Andreoni has thrown herself headlong into what she assures is her favorite activity, also with the production of unique pieces of undoubted value, which are added to the collections also offered through a convenient online shop. The style is quite eclectic, with numerous variations of the classic jewel models, for example, with the proposal of rings in the trumpet version, next to bands that show the letter L in relief. Which, obviously, is that of the designer’s name.
