Hrh, an idea in a ring

Many jewels and an acronym that alludes to nobility: these are the characteristics of Hrh Jewels.

In 2005, in Beirut, was killed in an terroristic attack the country’s prime minister, Rafik Hariri: it was been one of the many episodes of a civil war that lasted 20 years. Ten years later, at the end of May 2016, the daughter of Rafik Hariri opened a high-quality jewelry. Her name is Hind and called his brand of Hrh Jewels jewelry. The name needs to be explained, because the acronym has two meanings.

In Anglo-Saxon countries, hrh refers to princes and queens. Her Royal Highness, Her Royal Highness.

In this case it means that the jewels are proposed for the king or queens, but also that the customer will be welcomed as if it were. But Hrh also are the initials of the family, as explained by the founder: Hind Rafik, and more the father’s name, Hariri. “It’s my way of paying tribute to him,” said Hind. She made it big: he opened a boutique in the Pavillons of Monte Carlo, Monaco. He debuted with two collections of major impact, plus a series of fine jewelry pieces. In addition, it wanted to give a special mark or, better, ideal, to her proposal. Her latest collection is called The Rose of hope: a reference to the ideals that should never be put in the attic. She knows something about.

Some of the protagonists have chosen Damiani jewels. The collaboration between the festival and the Italian jewelery Maison stems from the relationship of mutual esteem and friendship that binds Giorgio Damiani to Ezio Greggio, promoter and organizer of the Festival. Giorgio Damiani presided over the awards ceremony as a representative of the Maison and of the creative excellence that made the company an ambassador of Made in Italy in the world. Damiani also made the awards awarded. Among the actresses who chose to wear Damiani jewels for the awards ceremony, Micaela Ramazzotti, Rocio Morales, Elisa Isoardi and Desiree Popper.

Monte Carlo succulent with Zeades

//

From the Maison of bijoux Zeades a collection that is inspired by the succulent plants of Monte Carlo ♦ ︎

In 2012 the fashion jewelry ambitions welcomed a new protagonist: Zeades. It is a brand that has a story of its own: it proposes, in fact, bijoux, not only in metal but also in leather. Bracelets, above all, in a dual role of leather goods and jewelers. Danielle Devreese and Frédéric Brega invented this double soul, which also appeared at the last Baselworld.

Both architects have decided to base themselves in Monte Carlo: the principality of Monaco gives bijoux a particular, selective flavor, regardless of the materials used for bracelets and necklaces. Furthermore, Monte Carlo is also a source of inspiration. The Exotic Garden line, for example, was born by observing the succulent plants of the Exotic Garden of Monaco, and interprets extravagant plant forms. Danielle Devreese is the artistic director: in 1992 she won the Bruynseraede-De Witte Award, which selects the greatest hope every year at the Royal Academy of Belgium. Alessia Mongrando

Zebrak, the best of the past

Vintage jewelry collected and offered for sale by the two Zebrak boutiques in London and the Principality of Monaco ♦
If you have a passion for antique jewelry with charm, extremely rare, that have a history, take note of this address: 139th New Bond Street, London. Or, if you are near the French Riviera, you can go to Monte Carlo, in the Principality of Monaco, at 1 Boulevard du Jardin Exotique. In both towns you will find a boutique Zebrak, company founded in 1985 by brother and sister, Adam and Tracy Zebrak. With 30 years of experience behind it, instead of designing new lines of jewelry, they have preferred to hunt for the best, in the past. They are jewels that, as good wine, improve with the passing of years, and have even more charm.

A profession that the two can do well because Adam and Tracy have a fantastic knowledge of jewelry and antiques. In recent years they have managed to put together one of the most important collections of jewelery, carefully selected. Tracy has been a member for 30 years of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain and was often called by its wealthy clients for expertise on gems and jewelry. An activity that has enabled her to buy a profound experience of vintage jewelry. In Zebrak boutique, whose spirit they chose as a brand two zebras, you can find anything from vintage Cartier to rare Lalique jewelry. A small paradise for fans and collectors. Federico Graglia

Jewels in Monte-Carlo with Artcurial

Artcurial jewels and diamonds july auction at the Hôtel Hermitage in Monte-Carlo ♦ ︎

Taste of the sea, taste of jewels. Artcurial, the French auction house, is organizing a sale of fine jewelery for 18 and 19 July, in Monte-Carlo, as befits the prestigious location. The auction will be held at the Hôtel Hermitage and involves the sale of about 800 pieces, including vintage and modern, of prestigious Maison with Harry Winston, Van Cleef & Arpels, Lalique. But also Hermès, because the sale also includes some bags of the Parisian brand and some watches, selected by the founder of Colette, Sarah Andelman, and photographed by Koto Bolofo, who set some of the most prestigious jewels in an unusual context of vegetables, mushrooms, berries.
The most precious piece is, perhaps, a rivière necklace by Harry Winston, with emeralds, diamonds, on platinum and 18-karat gold, circa 1985-1990, accompanied by a certificate of SSEF certifying the origin of Colombia of emeralds. A platinum ring of Boucheron should also arouse interest, with a diamond of over 11 carats, round cut. And always in the genre, in the catalog also appears a ring with emerald cut diamond of 7 carats, color D, good overall quality.

The 50 Rubies of the Imperial Necklace

The Imperial Necklace with the finest rubies in the world in Monte Carlo ♦ ︎
Burmese rubies are the most sought after for their quality. But it is rare that many stones are used together as in the Imperial Necklace, an exquisite necklace, which was shown in preview, worn by a Russian model, by Ravi Lunia, director of Faidee, the largest Burmese specialized company in rubies. The occasion was an exhibition at Hotel Hermitage in the Principality of Monaco dedicated to Burmese ruby. The rubies of the necklace have a “pigeon blood” color that is considered the most intense hue. Red stones, all of the same quality, weigh about 130 carats, and are assembled together with colorless and perfect diamonds. The Monaco exhibition includes over one hundred jewels made of Faidee stones, with unheated Burmese rubies. Hotel Hermitage until August 21st. The imperial necklace contains 50 rubies, with eight gems weighing more than 5 carats each. The rubies exposed in Monte Carlo are part of a personal collection covering four generations. Sabbadini in Monte Carlo

Sabbadini from Monte Napoleone in Monte Carlo at top of jewelry.
There will also Sabbadini at Top Marques in Monte Carlo, scheduled 20-23 April in the Principality. The brand, which has its main selling point in the center of Milan, in via Monte Napoleone, in Monaco shows its latest creations of fine jewelry. Sabbadini is a unique example in the Italian. La Maison was founded in 1940 by Bruno Sabbadini, but was active in the high-quality precious stones trade. The story continued with Alberto, who opened the doors to the jewelry, with the first showroom in New York in 1983. After Alberto, here is the son Pierandrea, joined the family after a long stay in the United States. Sabbadini has emerged as a virtuoso in the use of stones, in particular with the invisible setting. One example is the famous collection of the brand, the shaped brooches of Bees. But even the last set of rings with a pavé square stones forming a texture, and a central coarser stone in sugar loaf shape. Lavinia Andorno

Demetra, jewelry goddess

Demetra’s jewels, made in Italy and sold in Monte Carlo, in the name of tradition.

Demeter, according to Greek mythology, was the sister of Zeus, goddess of wheat and agriculture, protector of marriage and sacred laws. Today, however, it is a company based in Valenza (Piedmont) and Monte Carlo (Principality of Monaco). Instead of wheat and threshing, we collect pearls, diamonds and precious stones, especially aquamarine. In the reserved stage of Monte Carlo, however, Demetra sells jewels that are made in the cradle of the Italian goldsmith tradition. Demetra is keen to underline that “natural diamonds that illuminate jewels do not come from illicit sources and without exploitation of women and minors as our suppliers certify”. The company was founded by Alberto Pertosa in the Principality of Monaco in June 2016.

The jewels of the goddess Demeter, in any case, have a more classic style. Pearls adorn rings, earrings or pendants, rubies that color the center of a ring surrounded by small diamonds, often mounted on platinum or gold: all in the traditional goldsmith tradition and, despite Montecarlo is a luxury darling, with very competitive prices compared to those offered on average in jewelry.

Buccellati at top in Monte Carlo

A Buccellati ring on top in the first auction 2017 of jewelery organized by Artcurial in Monte Carlo.
It’s scheduled in Monaco the first auction 2017 by Artcurial dedicated to jewels. As always it is organized at the Yacht Club de Monte-Carlo, January 19 to 21 and is dedicated to jewelry and watches. Among the items for sale are not lacking the jewels of the big names, such as Boucheron, Bulgari, Cartier, Chopard, Chaumet, Buccellati and Van Cleef & Arpels. Among the most remarkable pieces there are also jewelry made of gold and diamonds signed Suzanne Belperron, or a set of different jewelry including a yellow gold ring with an emerald-cut diamond, 15,40 carats by Buccellati. It is the top rod piece, with a evaluation of 240 to 260,000 euros: belonged to an unspecified royal family, which obviously needs to accomplish. Soon after, always in the estimates, is in the catalog a bracelet-watch in platinum and white gold with diamonds by Cartier. Quite impressive, it has a rating of 120-150.00 euros. Federico Graglia

Bulgari, 250 pieces of High Jewelry

In 2015 in Portofino, in 2016 a few meters from Monte Carlo, in Port de Cap d’Ail: Bulgari likes to present the new collections of fine jewelry in a beautiful environment, rich and evocative. With the outline of a gala evening, guests (perhaps customers) of honor, models, celebrities like Juliette Binoche and Luke Evans, as well as the ambassador of the Maison, Carla Bruni Sarkozy. And then, of course, there were the jewelry. At the eyes of a hundred invited to the event in the heart of Monaco appeared 250 unique pieces presented by the number one of the LVMH group, Christophe Babin, who leads the French empire which also includes Bulgari. But if the wallet of Maison is French, it remains Italian in style. Which incorporates some of the usual allusions to classicism, as parure with ancient coins of the Roman Empire, along with cabochon stones. Obviously there are snakes (as we had anticipated here) of Mediterranean Eden line, with the heads of lovable creatures (when they are jewels) that are able to accommodate pendants precious stones such as rubies and sapphires of different sizes and color. The collection Italian Extravaganza tip instead of platinum chains studded with diamonds, and made even richer by Colombian emeralds. But the king of the evening was a bracelet of colored diamonds, but of purity D, to form a kind of luminous waterfall.
