For Tiffany pop-up with stars

There are those who open a shop by inviting a few friends. There are those who invite journalists. And there are also those who, like Tiffany, organize a mega inauguration for the opening of a pop-up store, i.e. a temporary point of sale, often to celebrate an event or sell a particular product, with the participation of a host of actresses and models. This is what happened in Miami, in conjunction with the start of Art Basel, a fair dedicated to the art market. A few steps from the permanent store of Tiffany & Co, in the Miami Design District, the American Maison has opened the first pop-up café and shop. The link with the artistic world is represented by the inspiration from archival drawings of the father of pop-art, Andy Warhol, who worked with Tiffany from 1956 to 1962.

The neon with the name of the brand, which today belongs to the French group Lvmh, is precisely a reference to the pop atmosphere. Tiffany also commissioned artists Kai & Sunny to transform the two-level storefront using a colorful palette. The façade also forms a backdrop for the Christmas pop-up shop which features a curated assortment of the House’s gold and diamond jewellery. Indeed sympathetic to a pop-up shop.

Swiss jewelry designer Suzanne Syz collaborates with artist Kerstin Brätsch at Design Miami / Basel ♦ ︎

The Maison is called Suzanne Syz Art Jewels. The name itself indicates two interests: jewelry and art. Usually these two aspects are cultivated by Suzanne Syz with her work: creative, surprising jewels that overcome difficult technicals.

But sometimes the Geneva designer chooses to focus on the other aspect, art. Suzanne Syz, for example, will collaborate with the artist Kerstin Brätsch at Design Miami / Basel, from 11 to 16 June. It’s her fourth year at the fair and Suzanne invited Kerstin Brätsch to collaborate with the Syz Art Jewels stand, producing a wallpaper based on images of marbled rocks, with 3D renderings of overlapping dinosaurs, which symbolize an ancient extinct life in contrast to the new technology.

Brätsch has also designed six unique amorphous glass jewelry cases filled with volcanic stones. For Brätsch, the connections between these natural materials create a dialogue as old as the diamonds present at the beginning of mother earth. Those stones used for jewels survive until today, exhaling their telluric vibrations and their vibrant presence. Past Miami Design / Basel collaborations have included Sylvie Fleury, Alex Israel and John Armeleder.

A ring made from a single diamond, even if artificial. It is designed by the designer father of iPhone, iMac, iPad … This exceptional creation will be on sale on December 5 in Miami, in an auction organized by Sotheby’s. The proceeds will go to charity, for an organization, Red, which deals with AIDS patients.

The ring was designed by Apple’s chief design officer, Sir Jony Ive, in collaboration with industrial designer Marc Newsom.

The artificial diamond, on the other hand, was produced by Diamond Foundry. The ring has no metallic part. Diamond Foundry is the leading American producer of stone produced in the laboratory and aims to present itself as a sustainable company. It boasts the star of Blood Diamond and among the shareholders there is Leonardo DiCaprio, who was the protagonist of a film about the extraction of illegal diamonds.

The diamond used for the ring is about 45 carats, one of the largest laboratory stones in the world.

The ring, however, does not yet exist: if a buyer is found, the rough diamond created in the laboratories of the Bay Area of Diamond Foundry will be sent to master cutters in Antwerp to be customized to the extent of the finger of the new owner.
To realize the ring’s design, which has 2-3,000 almost microscopic facets, Ive and Newsom have also designed special tools, including a device that will project a laser beam through a micrometric water jet to create the cylindrical cut of the interior ring. The beauty of the cocktail ring is its great versatility and Tous knows it perfectly. Come abbiamo già anticipato (https://gioiellis.com/show-mosca-per-pasquale-bruni/), all’ambasciata italiana di Mosca Eugenia Bruni, direttrice creativa, è stata ospite d’onore per un evento durante il quale sono state presentate parure uniche delle collezioni Ghirlanda e Prato Fiorito. La serata ha visto all’opera lo chef stellato Davide Oldani e la cantante italiana Malika Ayane la quale, durante il concerto privato, ha indossato la speciale parure Prato Fiorito Grace, composta da una leggera fila di 1.075 piccoli fiori di diamanti bianchi e neri, per un totale di 40,26 carati, con un’unica preziosa goccia centrale di onice dal taglio sfaccettato per 11,35 carati: una forma appositamente creata da Pasquale Bruni per questi gioielli. Dall’altra parte del mondo, a Miami, in Florida, c’era invece il fondatore e presidente, Pasquale Bruni, per il lancio del brand nel luxury jewelry store Mayors ad Aventura.
