Giuseppe Conte and the jewels of Conte Diamonds

Now Giuseppe Conte is not only the name of the founder of Conte Diamonds, but also the name of a jewelry line that bears the name of the founder of the company. The brand, which is based in the center of the Tarì di Marcianise (Caserta), while the commercial headquarters and gemological laboratory are located in Milan, is the evolution of the family business, which has been in the world of jewelery for some time. A tradition that Giuseppe Conte wanted to continue with a diploma in gemology and a predilection for diamonds and precious stones. Thus was born Conte Diamonds, which now offers the line that takes the name of the founder of the brand.

The two stars of Conte Diamonds

It’s called Conte Diamonds, but in its catalog there are not only diamonds. Indeed, stones with other colors abound, from Colombian emeralds to tanzanite, from sapphires to rubies. Gems are, in any case, the focus around which the company’s activity takes place, an evolution born in 2011 from the family tradition, which has been operating in the precious sector since the 1970s. Conte Diamonds is also a company with two poles: it was born in the Naples area and has an office at the Centro Orafo il Tarì in Caserta, while the commercial headquarters and gemological laboratory are located in Milan. Furthermore, the company combines the production of jewels with that of the diamond trade.

The gem business is linked to contacts and partnerships with the operators of the Antwerp Diamond Exchange, but only with natural precious stones that comply with the principles of ethics shared by the Kimberley Process, which guarantees the origin of the raw material from conflict-free areas. Conte Diamonds jewels are completely classic, in the usual design that combines diamonds and selected colored stones, mounted on rings and earrings ready for the jewelery showcases. The Maison also has a younger line, Conte Prime, which offers more accessible jewels. Furthermore, Giuseppe Conte has launched a parallel activity with an original online shopping initiative with the PayBond company.

Colors and tradition for Labriò

After Labriola jewelery, in 2017 Mario Labriola, supported by the entrepreneur Cinzia Pastore, founded Labriò, a jewelery company that operates from the Il Tarì Goldsmith Center in Marcianise (Caserta, Italy). The brand does not neglect the stylistic heritage of the family, on the contrary, it strengthens it. The jewels have regular shapes and are made of 18-karat gold or silver, with two separate product lines. Furthermore, rings, necklaces and earrings are often enriched with the addition of natural stones, such as sapphire and amethyst, or mother of pearl, but also in some cases with the possibility of choosing a synthetic variant.

The jewels are handcrafted, the company specifies, even with the use of the burin, without computerized technologies. “Fascinated by the ancient Neapolitan goldsmith art and mindful of family creations, in particular of tortoiseshell combs, Mario Labriola pours this heritage of style into his creations”, is the designer’s self-portrait. The prices are quite low.

Salvatore Collaro between pearls and coral

Coral and pearls: Salvatore Collaro continues the tradition of jewelry with the sons of the sea ♦ ︎

If you, in italian language, anagram the word coral, you can get Collaro. Who knows, maybe that’s also what the Collaro family has tied to the red son of the sea. Founded at the end of the 1950s by Salvatore and Lella Collaro, the Torre del Greco (Naples) company continues to observe the tradition of the founders. The coral, however, has adapted to the times and the jewels have a modern look, with volumes not prone to chisel work but rather with smooth, smooth surfaces.

At Centro Orafo il Tarì, where Salvatore Collaro has the headquarters, another type of sea fruit is still working: the pearl. Australian, Chinese, Japanese or Thaiti, pearls are used for jewels created by the fantasy of Liliana and Lucia, who continue the family tradition. Jewelery with pearls also have the advantage of being interpreted in a younger, lighter way, while jewelery with coral, often adorned with a diamond pavé, are more demanding. Here are some of the latest creations of the Neapolitan Maison.

With the first edition of Open !, which took place last October, Tarì has developed an effective and highly appreciated organization model. The protocols tested ensured an optimal business experience thanks to the simplification of access systems to the Center and the rigorous organization of services. Today, with the May appointment we find ourselves facing a new challenge: transferring to the Italian gold sector a sign of confidence towards a summer recovery, as well as all the professional support necessary to support their needs.

No physical barrier, rapidity in the phases of accreditation and recognition of guests, opening of the exhibition spaces towards the internal gardens aimed at guaranteeing the optimal circulation of people, are just some of the measures recently adopted by the Goldsmith Center which has reviewed in recent months, in a rigorous and punctual way, security systems and anti-covid protocols to offer the public, but also to established companies, a place where they can do business safely, move freely and organize business meetings.
The May event will also kick off the celebrations for the centre’s 25th anniversary. Il Tarì will also present its new value identity, dedicated to an innovative and increasingly emotional vision of jewelery.I

Giannotti (Tarì) vice president of Confindustria Caserta

x

The president of the Tarì goldsmith center in Marcianise (Caserta), Vincenzo Giannotti, was elected vice president of Confindustria (association of companies) Caserta. He pointed this out to the assembly of the association of industrialists of the province. Giannotti supports the new president Beniamino Schiavone.

Esterno del Tarì
Esterno del Tarì

I accepted with great pleasure the invitation to make my contribution to the association’s action, and I feel honored for the great attestation of esteem I have received in recent days from the business world of the province of Caserta. For me, a Neapolitan like many of the entrepreneurs I represent in my role as president of Tarì, Caserta has been a second home for many years now, to which I owe a lot. Not only for having welcomed the Tarì from the very beginning as a great resource for the area, but also for having always offered excellent skills, services and attention to our reality at all levels. The particular role that has been entrusted to me, the delegation of territorial competitiveness, will allow me to reciprocate this willingness and to transfer the experience gained over the years to the service of an economic and entrepreneurial context that presents extraordinary development opportunities. I am sure that the excellent team formed by President Schiavone will be able to give, with his leadership, an extraordinary contribution to the enhancement of this extraordinary area of the country, already successfully mapped out by his predecessor Traettino .

Tarì challenges the covid and plans an event

Despite the health emergency, Tarì, the distribution and production center in Marcianise (Caserta, Italy), is returning to an usual, not digital, event. From 12 to 15 March the goldsmith center will be the first in Italy to resume with the events physically on site, confirming the holding of Open Anteprime. The event, dedicated to jewelery, is intended as an opportunity for sector operators to preview the new spring 2021 collections in person and will be an anticipation of the usual events in May and October, considered the most important events in Italy dedicated to the B2B goldsmith market.

2020 was a very tough year for the entire jewelry sector in Italy. According to the public statistical body, Istat, in the months between March and July the market saw production halve, with a decrease of 54.3% compared to the same period of 2019, with a simultaneous rise in production prices, also due to the surge in the cost of gold. The subsequent lockdowns and limitations of the autumn and winter months did not allow to recover the large losses.

With this event we want to stimulate the market in a proactive way, working concretely to reverse the negative trend of last year and at the same time giving a signal of confidence to the whole sector.

The goldsmith center, however, has never stopped since last May, with over 400 companies actively present and operating from production to distribution. The goldsmith center also specifies that the Tarì will be “a safe environment equipped with the most advanced technologies, which will allow each guest company to devote themselves exclusively to business, with the possibility of managing their own agenda of meetings in complete safety”. Provided that the general situation does not get worse again.

Since VicenzaOro has been canceled, the appointment can be more interesting for jewelry operators. In anticipation of Open! Tarì has remodeled the outdoor spaces and all the work environments to facilitate movement and simplify contacts in compliance with the prevention rules. In any case, the Center has been operating at full capacity since the first days of May.

We are ready to welcome operators and retailers from all over Italy in full safety and with the hospitality that has always distinguished Il Tarì. The name of the event itself is synonymous with organization, planning, experience, but also normality.
