Two-color Fope Must Have

Fope still focuses on the combination or, if you prefer, on the contrast between different colors, an idea that he had already proposed with the Essentials collection in 2021. Now gold with two different colors is renewed in the Must Have line, where the classic design of the Venetian maison is combined with the mix of gold used for the flexible links of bracelets of different sizes and rings. Thicknesses and locking washers, in which a small white or black diamond is inserted, are Fope’s usual ones, but the extra touch is represented by the contrast of white and pink gold, or yellow with white or pink.

Must Have is, essentially, a selection of creations from the Vicenza brand (which, by the way, increased its turnover to 66.8 million euros in 2023, with profits unchanged at 10 million). The selection includes all the bracelets that use the Flex’it patent (which makes jewelery elastic and flexible) in their most essential version, but with a different effect.

News and more East for Fope

The Fope brand is an acronym for Fabbrica Oreficeria Preziosi Esportazione. And, in fact, the Italian goldsmith company listed on the Euronext Growth Milan stock exchange is very active abroad. The latest move is the establishment of the company Fope Japan G.K., based in Tokyo and created to take care of the commercial development of the Japanese market. The company is controlled by Fope Japan (80%) and by SwissPrimeBrands (20%), partner of the Veneto Group which has handled the distribution of Fope products in Japan to date. A few weeks earlier Fope had announced the opening of a new single-brand boutique in the prestigious Seibu mall in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). In short, Fope’s gold is increasingly heading towards the East. A strategy that has borne fruit: in 2023 Fope achieved consolidated net revenues of 66.8 million euros, with growth of 4.61 million (+7.4%) compared to 2022.

Results aligned with the budget expectations drawn up at the beginning of 2023, taking into account a complex economic situation at an international level and confirmed by indicators that showed slowdowns particularly in the second half of the year. During 2023, the Italian market stood out for its excellent sales performances, generated both by the Venice boutique and in general by our dealers and favored by the good presence of foreign tourists in Italy. The hedging policy on gold needs neutralized the fluctuations in gold prices and the primary sales margin did not suffer any deviations from the budget values. The vision for 2024 is positive and of further growth.

Meanwhile, the jewelry brand does not give up on adding new things to its collections. One, rather important, is scheduled for September. Meanwhile, Fope has renewed one of its iconic collections, Eka. The name in Sanskrit means one. And, in fact, Eka was the first collection to which the patented Flex’it technology was applied, which allows jewelery flexibility thanks to gold micro springs hidden inside bracelets, rings and necklaces. Now the Eka line becomes more bold and transversal thanks to a shirt where the golden grains are emphasized by embracing each other. Since 2024 the necklaces have existed in soft and elastic variants, enriched with the precious D-click diamond button closure.

Fope news with jewels and perfumes

Jewels that want to look far away. The Venetian fashion house Fope launches new models from the Panorama collection. The diamond washers that surround the Flex’it extendable link, which allows you to add a closing mechanism, become added elements to personalize rings and bracelets. The jewels are offered in rose gold or white gold, in different combinations that are added to those already present in the catalogue.

New models also for the Vendôme – Black Diamond collection, launched in October 2021 as a men’s line. The black diamond characterizes the male version of the jewels derived from the corresponding collections intended for a female audience, always using the Flex’it system. Furthermore, Fope has decided to broaden its offering with some brand extensions. The perfume expert Bertrand Duchaufour created a fragrance specifically for the Maison defined as delicate and elegant but at the same time persistent and difficult to forget. It emanates floral notes, the freshness of cedar and Italian citrus fruits, the softness of freesia, the oriental appeal of incense and the sensuality of vanilla and musk. This is how the Eau 558 perfume, the 558 candle and the room fragrance (available in two sizes) were born. In 2023, an hourglass takes shape, which contains all the elements that represent Fope: the three colors of gold and the green sand that flows in 30 minutes.

Fope opens in Tokyo

Fope opens the first flagship store in Asia, in Ginza, Tokyo’s luxury shopping district. For the Venetian company, this is a record opening, given that it has been present on the Japanese market for only three years, which, as the president of Fope, Umberto Cazzola underlined, are marked by the covid and related lockdowns. The Fope store is on two levels, for a sales space of 100 square meters on the ground floor, plus an 89 square meter coffee point on the first floor, a single area designed to prolong the shopping experience while remaining open outside outside opening hours.

Arched architecture and design have been designed with characteristics inspired by the Italian style: facade and cladding in light colors, white and two shades of green, and assembled in separate segments. The pyramid-shaped profiles recall historic Renaissance palaces. There are three separate areas within the Fope store, each with a distinct function. A showcase uses the double corner view. The sales floor is located in the central area, and a more intimate VIP room has been created inside, characterized by a mirrored ceiling. The new store joins other Fope flagship locations in Venice, London, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur and Isola Bella, a seasonal boutique on Lake Maggiore, Italy.

The two-tone rings by Fope Essentials

Why choose between rose gold and white, or between pink and yellow, when you can wear both colors together? The solution identified by Fope is to create jewels composed of gold of two different nuances. We are talking about the Essentials collection, introduced in 2021, which immediately represented a great success thanks to the transversal nature of the Flex’it rings and earrings. Souls, Fope’s rings for twin spirits

Even the youngest have the right to wear quality jewelry. Starting from this idea, Fope opened 2022 with the launch of a new collection, intended (also) for a younger audience, but without sacrificing the characteristics that have made the jewelry of the Venetian company famous (and imitated). Fope grits his teeth and expects a better future. The 2020 accounts of the goldsmith company listed on the Aim list of the Italian Stock Exchange are inevitably affected by the covid effect. But it could have been worse. According to the preliminary consolidated results as at 31 December 2020, the revenues of the Veneto group fell to 26 million euros compared to 35 million in 2019, but the positive news for shareholders is that the year did not end in red, but still in profit, even if it fell to 1.65 million compared to 4.85 million in 2019. In line with these results are the Ebitda and Ebit (essentially gross margins) which amounted to 3.95 million respectively and 2.34 million.

We are satisfied with the closing revenue figure, which exceeds expectations; the decrease of 25.7% compared to 2019, and in particular of 11% if we compare the data relating only to countries with a significant tourist impact, is a result that comforts us with respect to the importance that the Fope brand has for our dealers and as a first choice for our customers. The careful management of costs in the lockdown phases and the sales, made with the margins prior to the health emergency, made it possible to maintain an adequate level of profit and the distribution of dividends during the month of December 2020. Financial management, which has not undergone significant impacts following the lock down periods, has made it possible to proceed with the planned investments. Also in light of the 2020 results achieved in a difficult situation, we look to 2021 with optimism and believe in the ability to achieve positive results, despite the contingent period of health emergency does not allow to resolve all the uncertainties regarding the response of the markets. However, the feedback received so far from our best dealers is positive, and in line with our expectations.

The flexible time of Fope

Combining business with pleasure: perhaps this is the philosophy of Lady Fope, the line of the Venetian Maison Fope, which has decided to combine the bracelet element with that of a timepiece. Basically, Lady Fope uses bracelets with Flex’it technology, the gold mesh that hides hundreds of invisible hooks inside that make the jewel soft, flexible and adaptable. At the center of these bracelets, in 18-karat rose and white gold, is a Swiss Made watch with a quartz movement.

The beauty of this precious bracelet is that it does not need any buckle: it can be inserted simply by pushing your hand through the bracelet, which is elastic thanks to the (patented) Flex’it system. The bracelets are offered in two versions: with washers or in the classic Fope mesh, but the wearability is identical. The bracelets and watches are available in nine versions: in simple metal, or with the addition of small diamonds, arranged on the strap and cases of the timepiece.

Fope with Panorama renews Flex’it

The panorama of Fope’s jewels is even wider. It’s a play on words, because the new collection of the Venetian brand is just called Panorama. And it’s lovely. The new collection coincides with the new Flex’it mesh, the company’s patented system that allows you to obtain flexible gold jewelry thanks to dozens of micro springs in 18-karat gold hidden inside and, therefore, invisible. Now that system (which boasts numerous attempts at imitation) has been further improved and used for the Panorama collection.

Improved, but without losing its identity of comfortable luxury. The design used for Panorama consists of a variation of the iconic Novecento collection, but with a wider mesh and a very low thickness: it is thus almost flat, with a particular effect when worn. Characteristics of this new collection are also the little gold transverse loops, present in variable numbers and with different carats.

Like all Flex’it sweaters, Panorama required a considerable technical and technological commitment: in this case it took 24 months from the first sketches of the designers to the industrialization of the product. It is therefore not only elegant and comfortable jewels, but also innovative and original objects, unique in their kind.
