Milano Fashion&Jewels is back

The countdown has begun in Milan for the new edition of the event dedicated to fashion accessories, clothing and jewellery. Milano Fashion&Jewels is scheduled at Fieramilano (Rho) from Sunday 18th to Wednesday 21st February. Established brands, young start-ups and Italian and foreign designers will present their collections. For the next edition, the event confirms its collaboration with Poli.Design, with the aim of highlighting current and upcoming trends thanks to two spaces focused on research and avant-garde visions even beyond the national border.

In this context, Visionaires is an exhibition conceived as a container of ideas, ideas and reflections that puts the spotlight on the most original proposals, with respect to the themes investigated and emerged in the September 2023 edition. Design Direction, on the other hand, with its multimedia path, presents itself as a focus to discover and learn about the trends of the next two years in jewelery and fashion accessories. The trade fair event also presents two new features: the presence of a desk dedicated to sustainability by Cna Federmoda on the new regulations dedicated to the separate collection of textile products and Beauty&Lifestyle, an experiential section dedicated to beauty accessories. The calendar of talks, workshops and moments of discussion has also been renewed.

Jewellery, Gem & Technology in Dubai postponed to November 2024

Change of season for Jewellery, Gem & Technology in Dubai, a fair dedicated to jewelery organized by Informa Markets Jewelery and Italian Exhibition Group. The third edition will be held from 12 to 14 November 2024, and in a new venue, the Dubai Exhibition Center (Dec), Hall 1 & 2 South. The fair was initially scheduled for February 6-8, 2024 at the Dubai World Trade Center. The reason for the repositioning is not clear. According to Marco Carniello, Global Exhibition Director Jewelery & Fashion at IEG, “B2B buyers of jewelery and gemstones need to reduce the sourcing cycle to meet the rapidly evolving needs and preferences of their customers. The new dates of the fair strategically respond to this need, allowing the shop windows to be renewed during the high season”.

For Celine Lau, Director of Jewelery Fairs at Informa Markets Jewellery, “the move to DEC represents an exciting step forward and further strengthens JGTD’s role as a global meeting place where new products are discovered, inspiring ideas are shared and connections are made . JGTD’s distinctive positioning will also be amplified with the move to the new headquarters which consolidates its prominent position in the jewelery trade fair calendar. Dec is a surface located in the Expo 2020 area, with 45,000 square meters of business spaces, meeting rooms and cutting-edge services. It is served by the Dubai Metro Route 2020 station, providing efficient transport and direct access to the city’s main attractions, many of which can be reached in around 30 minutes by car. Dubai Marina, the elegant waterfront neighborhood adjacent to the Palm Jumeirah, is just a 20-minute drive. During the third edition, JGTD will present a wide variety of products offered by approximately 400 exhibitors from 25 countries. Collections of high jewellery, loose diamonds and precious and colored stones, components and production technologies, up to lab grown diamonds, will be available in the same place.

At Jck and Couture 130 Italian jewelery companies

The world of jewelry moves to Las Vegas. The capital of Nevada hosts the two most important events of the year: the Jck (from 2 to 5 June 2023 at The Venetian Expo & The Veneziano) with 17,000 participants and over 1,800 exhibitors and the Couture Show (1-4 June at the Wynn) , which hosts a selection of over 300 high-end exhibitors. With the two super jewelery fairs, events and competitions are also planned.

For example, for the Jck there will be the Meet the Designers and the Jewelers Choice Awards Toast in the Design Collective Lounge, sponsored by the International Gemological Institute. The Design Collective neighborhood also features The Jewelry Loupe Project with Women’s Jewelry Association and De Beers, as well as dedicated booths from select designers exhibiting from the Black in Jewelry Coalition. Or the Jewelers For Children Facet of Hope event, which will take place in the Palazzo Ballroom on Level 5 of the Venetian. Brosway Italia, on the other hand, is the main sponsor of Jck Rocks, an exclusive event on June 4th.

Speaking of Italian companies: apart from the United States, they will be the ones to have the largest presence, with over 130 producers and brands. The Made in Italy gold districts are, in fact, one of the strengths of the country and many companies can boast a refined production capacity, as well as a style appreciated globally. A hundred companies will exhibit at the Jck, others at the Couture Show. According to Federorafi, an association that brings together many companies in the sector, the United States is the first market for Italian jewelery exports. The massive presence at the two events in the capital of Nevada is also due to the help of the Foreign Trade Agency.

GemGeneve breaks the record and returns in November

Story of the duckling that turned into a swan: GemGenève, a fair dedicated to gems, vintage and design jewels, was born in 2018 as a bet by two jewelers from Geneva, Ronny Totah and Thomas Faerber, it has turned into an event that repeat every six months. Closed the May session, the next edition has already been announced for November 2-5. A result that was hard to believe given that the starting idea was that of a small specialized fair, an alternative to the expensive Baselworld. Instead, the Goliath-Baselworld was knocked out by the slingshot of companies intolerant of that grandeur.

GemGèneve 2023
GemGèneve 2023

The GemGèneve balance for May 2023 indicates 4,320 visitors and 192 professional resellers out of a total of 230 exhibitors. The statistics also indicate that 1,400 of the 4,320 visitors went to GemGèneve more than once, bringing the total number of visits to 6,487, more than a thousand more than in the November 2022 edition (5,205). These figures, the organizers explain, are an excellent sign, especially in light of the continuing impact of the crisis in Ukraine.

We are proud that with this most recent edition, GemGenève has become an established part of the cultural fabric of Geneva and the international scene.

Alongside the consolidated companies, the protagonists of the Designer Vivarium, Emerging Talent & New Designers, selected by Vivienne Becker and Nadège Totah, the schools, the Villa of Lost Arts, the exhibition of the Museum of Art and History (MAH) of Geneva dedicated to automatons and music, the LetuBooks bookshop and the Gem Collectors bookshops, laboratories and other trade fair partners. But the new location, in pavilion 1 of the Palaexpo, and a more refined organization of spaces have also contributed to the evolution of GemGèneve. Alongside this, an efficient organization. In one word: Switzerland. A warranty.

Oroarezzo renews the spaces

Goldsmith, silversmith and jeweler manufacturing, together with semi-finished products and components, represents 65% of the offer, 90% Made in Italy, with a representative selection also of the best of foreign production districts. Among the jewelery brands present, Moraglione, F.A. Jewels and Stefano&C of the gold district of Valenza. Ieg conquers the Singapore jewelery fair

The fairs dedicated to jewelery are increasingly global and the challenge is played out across the board. Thus, after the agreement and the relaunch in the Middle East with the JGT Dubai, Ieg flies to Asia. The Italian company, which organizes Vicenzaoro and Oroarezzo lands in Singapore with its own wholly owned company Ieg Asia Pte and with two exhibitions, respectively in the jewelery and food & beverage sectors, acquired by Cems (Conference & Exhibition Management Services) . The two fairs are Sije, Singapore International Jewelry Expo and Café and Restaurant Asia.

Singapore is already one of the nerve centers for jewellery, where Jewelery & Gem World Singapore takes place, organized by Informa Markets Jewellery, which organizes the big event in Hong Kong. In short, the challenge on the Singapore field is open.

First of all, we are pleased to confirm the partnership with Stb, a guarantee of development and success for the exhibitions acquired. We also wish to underline how important the synergies are between the exhibitions in Italy and those acquired, highlighting the consequent impact generated by the internationalization of our exhibitions also on the Italian territory

The goal is to grow the exhibitions in Singapore, also by leveraging a mutual and productive exchange of the great success of the last edition of Vicenzaoro in January 2023 which saw the presence of over 1,300 exhibiting brands. The same can be said for Sigep with its 1,000 companies in the 2023 edition in Rimini.

The date of the next GemGèneve has already been set

The next edition of GemGenève will take place from 11 to 14 May 2023. The date, set well in advance, marks the entrance of the expo invented by Ronny Totah and Thomas Faerber in the circle of classic events, such as the Couture in Las Vegas or Vicenzaoro. A success achieved in a few years, with a challenge at Baselworld that not many would have bet on. Instead GemGèneve has become a solid reality. The second round of 2022 (3-6 November) also had a satisfactory outcome. The organizers registered a total of 3,543 visitors who went to the Palexpo to admire or purchase precious stones, period and design jewels. Of the visitors, according to the statistics, 1,662 returned twice, for a total of 5,205 visits. A participation, the organizers underline, that surpasses all previous editions.

This edition has exceeded all our expectations in terms of numbers. We had slightly fewer exhibitors in November (176) than in May (201), but never before have we had so many buyers and other visitors. This year GemGenève has further established itself as an authority in the international jewelry trade, becoming one of the most sought after events of its kind.

Ieg conquers the Singapore jewelry fair

Vicenzaoro or, more precisely, Italian Exhibition Group, the company that organizes the great Italian jewelery fair twice a year, lands in Singapore. Ieg and Singapore Tourism Board have signed an agreement (Memorandum of Understanding) for the development of events and congresses. The deal was presented in the Asian city-state.

The partnership with Singapore Tourism Board marks a further, important step forward in the internationalization process of IEG, which consolidates its presence in the Asian continent. Singapore today boasts a highly developed economic structure based on high value added services and manufacturing. This is an important piece of our strategy which aims to affirm IEG in all respects as the community catalyst of the industries represented at our events, taking them to the most promising markets, generating value in terms of business for the exhibiting companies, associations and all stakeholders.

According to Francesco Santa, International Business Development Director of Ieg, “Singapore Tourism Board and Ieg start a long-term collaboration”, and the agreement for the acquisition of the jewelery and food fairs are a confirmation of this.

Vicenzaoro kicks off with the trend wind

Five days dedicated to jewelry. Vicenzaoro September is the most important event of the year in Italy, and beyond, because it is a prelude to the hottest season (at least from a shopping point of view). The Vicenza fair organized by Ieg is scheduled from 9 September (Friday) to 13 September (Tuesday). And, even if the post-pandemic period just ended for the sector’s business has been satisfactory, the impact that the war in Ukraine will have and the consequent increase in energy costs on the jewelry industry has to be verified. Moreover, a large part has given up on the problematic Russian market.

As an encouragement, Italian Exhibition Group recalls the sector data relating to Italy: in the first five months of 2022, manufacturers of finished jewelery or components recorded an export growth in value of 36.5%, just under 4 billion euros. euro, about 1 billion more than in the same period last year (the estimate is from the Confindustria Moda Study Center based on Istat data for Federorafi).

At Vicenzaoro September the thousand exhibiting brands hope that the positive wind will continue to blow in the sails of sales, because the companies are close to the levels of 2019, but have not yet reached them. In any case, 35% of buyers from 28 foreign countries, Turkey, Germany, Spain the most represented, are present at the fair. And, other good news, China and Hong Kong, India and Thailand, for Asia are also returning to Vicenza. In all, 400 buyers were hosted, from over 70 countries, thanks to the support of about forty Ice offices around the world. Also present are all the acronyms of the various associations, which also organize a series of meetings of which we have already written in the article on the program, which you can find here.

Vicenzaoro returns on 9 September

First stage of approach to Vicenzaoro September. The summer months pass in a hurry and from 9 to 13 September 2022 the appointment with the event organized by Italian Exhibition Group is already announced. The next edition will also be joined, from 11 to 13, by Vo Vintage, this one open to the public of collectors and enthusiasts of past watches and jewels, with the possibility of immediate purchase, while Vicenzaoro remains strictly B2B.

The first appeal or, rather, the first press release concerning the next Vicenzaoro does not anticipate anything other than the date, while generally the program remains the same as always: jewels, stones and activities between entertainment and gastronomy in the rest of the city of Vicenza. The news, if there are any, will probably emerge in the coming months. For jewelry, the past few months have been marked by optimism, with results for companies all over the world or almost of absolute importance. Vicenzaoro will therefore also be an opportunity to measure the pulse of the sector in light of the macroeconomic and geopolitical trends (inflation, war in Ukraine) that are influencing the decisions of buyers.

Next GemGèneve in May 2023

The next edition of GemGenève, number five, will take place in May 2023. The clarification is mandatory, because before this year’s edition began (5-8 May) there was a doubt about a possible repeat in November, as is happened last year. But it was an exploit dictated by the pandemic conditions, hopefully overcome, and now the organizers are returning to the spring appointment. The 2022 edition registered 201 exhibitors, of which 160 professional dealers and jewelers, from 19 countries, compared to 120 in 2021.

According to the data provided by the organizers, 3,302 visitors from all over the world arrived in GemGèneve (against 2,757 in 2021, 3,474 in 2019 and 3,206 in 2018). Visitors added up a total of 4,850 visits, against 3,800 in 2021, 4,831 in 2019 and 4,300 in 2018. The balance of attendance is therefore positive and, on average, the comments collected by gioiellis.com during the visit to the Geneva event. GemGèneve confirmed itself as an alternative both to fairs like Vicenzaoro and to selective appointments like Haute Jewels Geneva.

Oroarezzo start between events and business

Oroarezzo (May 7-10) countdown. The event organized by Ieg in the Arezzo Fairs and Congresses pavilions also extends to the city center, with initiatives for exhibitors and visitors. Oroarezzo’s themes include manufacturing and design, but above all business for operators in the sector. There is no shortage of training opportunities. On Sunday 8 May, for example, Confindustria Federorafi organizes the technical workshop entitled Sustainability as a pass for the future. The idea is to offer guidance to raise awareness of market demands. It proposes a comparison on certifications in the field of circularity and traceability of precious metals and on the role of the sustainability of the supply chain as a key to enhance the supply chain in terms of both creativity and innovation, especially in the world of luxury. On stage, Federorafi director Stefano de Pascale, Luca Parrini, coordinator of the Aretina Goldsmith Consultation, Silvia Bezzone (Bulgari Manufacture), Egidio Chini (F.lli Chini), Raul Sapora (Auditor, Expert in CSR and Gemmologist), Cristina Squarcialupi (Unoaerre Industries, Federorafi vice president with responsibility for Sustainability) and Damiano Zito (Progold).

Oroarezzo ready to go

More than 300 brands are expected in Oroarezzo, the event organized by Ieg, which resumes in attendance (7 to 10 May) after the blockade of the two pandemic years. Despite the shadows that are projected from Ukraine on the entire luxury sector, the goldsmith sector has held up well for now, even if it is starting to register the repercussions of the blockade of the Russian market. In any case, in Oroarezzo there will be companies from the Tuscan district such as Unoaerre, Giordini, Gold Art, Graziella Group, Richline and Lusso, but also from the Vicenza district such as Chrysos, Rancangelo, Alessi Domenico, Superoro, Ronco and Sharma Group World, from Naples. with Roberto Giannotti, Milanese with Milor.

According to the Banca Intesa Sanpaolo Study Center, the Arezzo goldsmith district recorded growth compared to the pre-crisis level equal to 23.5% on 2019 and is aimed at the main outlet countries of Made in Italy jewelery: North America, Middle East, South America, as well as Italian retailers. Precious peace for Oroarezzo

Countdown to Oroarezzo (from 7 to 10 May), who after the covid must now deal with the uncertainties caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Thus, after the olive tree symbolically planted at the entrance to the fair that hosted Vicenzaoro in March, the concept will also be reaffirmed by the event scheduled in the Tuscan city. In fact, the set-up also includes in this case the trees that symbolize peace, the olive trees, at the entrance to Arezzo Fiere e Congressi.

Life is a precious art. A jewel between past and present, between near and distant cultures that creates novelty and beauty. Agreements of light, splendor and peace.

The event dedicated to the Italian and international excellences of goldsmithing, organized by Ieg (Italian Exhibition Group) brings together the first part of the supply chain, from goldsmiths to cash and carry, with an eye to technological innovation, already underlined at the entrance to the district fair that reopens its doors to the business of the sector.
Una precedente edizione di Oroarezzo

Three years after the last edition, the preparations for Oroarezzo can only be accompanied by the satisfaction of finally finding ourselves in favorable conditions to ensure that it will take place in the presence of a decisive appointment for the gold and jewelery business. It is the testimony of the unanimous commitment and an ever stronger dialogue with the Arezzo industry protagonists, institutions and trade associations. The collaboration continues with the stakeholders of a fundamental district for the success of Made in Italy jewelery in the world, always alongside IEG in the numerous initiatives with which we have kept the spotlight on this territory even during the pandemic – from Premiere Digital Edition in 2020 at We Are Jewelery and at the First Italian Jewelery Summit last year, in addition to international events such as Vicenzaoro and JGT Dubai – it proved to be strategic in the overall recovery of the entire sector.

The number of exhibitors at GemGèneve rises to 160

In a few days, adhesions to the fourth edition of GemGenève (5-8 May, Palexpo in Geneva) have risen from 120 to 160. This was announced by the organizers of the event dedicated to jewels and gems, Thomas Faerber and Ronny Totah. In terms of participation, American exhibitors are the most numerous, followed by exhibitors from Switzerland, Israel, Germany, Hong Kong, Belgium, France, Thailand, India and Italy. In addition, there will be companies from the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Sri Lanka, Japan and, finally, Austria. A perhaps unexpected success for what was born as a niche fair, an alternative to the more famous (and expensive) Baselworld.

After the success of the November 2021 edition – The Challenging Edition, we committed to continuing our mission with the same intention to bring together the best of what is being produced in the field of jewellery and precious stones.
Thomas Faerber

79.82% of the exhibitors present in 2021 returned. And more than 45 exhibitors are taking part in GemGenève for the fourth time. Another 20, however, will be present for the first time, such as Claudia Hamann Edelstein, Constantin Wild, La Galerie Parisienne and even larger family companies such as Shree Ramkrishna Exports Pvt. Ltd and Takat Gems.

The palpable enthusiasm of our exhibitors pushes us to renew ourselves with each edition, while still respecting the event’s DNA. The aim is to maintain the show, designed by the exhibitors, on a human scale, bringing together the general public, the industry professionals, designers of today and tomorrow, including the schools, as well as laboratories, world-renowned experts and informed speakers on the latest trends. GemGenève is a hub which enables quality discussions and examination of major themes of importance to the jewellery trades.

GemGèneve returns on May 5th

GemGèneve is preparing to shine again with new and vintage jewels, precious stones and events related to the exhibition that will take place from 5 to 8 May at the Palexpo in the Swiss city. In fact, as the epidemic fades, even the jewelry fairs have resumed their usual format. The last GemGèneve event was last October, with 120 exhibitors from over 15 countries. The proposed mix is particularly stimulating because it combines young designers with ancient and consolidated Maison, precious stone dealers and jewelry boutiques of the past. In short, past and present, avant-garde and tradition in the same pavilion at the Geneva fair. The Design Nursery, for example, curated by Vivienne Becker, presents the creations of a group of independent jewelry designers from all over the world. And, with past editions, it has helped launch the careers of some young, now established designers.

In addition to the various booths dedicated to business, as always GemGèneve also includes a series of initiatives, such as the Flair project curated by Katerina Perez, which consists of an online gallery and an independent community of multimedia artists who create unique objects and works, inspired by jewels and precious stones. The Emerging Talents area, on the other hand, is dedicated to the new generations of designers, with a special exhibition space.

GemGenève’s collaboration with various art schools, jewelry and other educational institutions related to this professional sector also continues, testifying to the fundamental desire of the event to ensure that passion is passed down from generation to generation. The event agenda also includes conferences and seminars, as in past editions. There is also room for the art of Estelle Lagarde, a talented jewelry painter, who will present her most beautiful Prestige Jewelery tempera in a live demonstration.

Homi Fashion & Jewels moved to mid-March

/

After Vicenzaoro, the covid is also postponing the Homi Fashion & Jewels Exhibition, an event dedicated to fashion jewelery and accessories. The event was scheduled from 18 to 21 February. Instead, it was repositioned from 11 to 14 March, again within the Fiera Milano Rho exhibition center. It will therefore be in partial coexistence with Micam, the International Footwear Exhibition, scheduled for March 13 to 15 together with The One Mmilano, Salone dell’Haut-à-Porter. The hope is that the decline in infections will make the atmosphere more serene and, above all, favor a greater influx of visitors.

“Aware that physical fairs are essential for the business of companies in the fashion sector, the organizers have once again united in the decision to reposition, keeping faith with the claim #BetterTogether but above all after having listened to the needs of the market”, is the message of the organizers. Which coincides with that of the operators.

GemGèneve returns on May 5th

Appointment May 5, 2022. GemGenève seems to contradict the difficulties encountered by other fairs dedicated to jewelery. The formula identified by the promoters, Ronny Totah and Thomas Faerber, works. This is indicated not only by the date, already decided, for the fourth edition, but also by the balance sheet of the third GemGèneve (4-7 November) which ended with 2,757 visitors at the Palexpo in Geneva, professional and private buyers, but also an audience of enthusiasts. of jewelry and gems. Half of the visitors (1,065) had already been to GemGèneve in previous editions and returned. Although the impact of the pandemic still had an impact: there were 120 exhibitors from 15 countries, compared to 210 in 2019, also due to the restrictions still in force for travel. It is no coincidence that this has been called a challenging edition.

This Challenging Edition has gone well beyond our expectations. We were counting on the presence of around 2,000 visitors and we are happy to report 2,757 visitors (compared to 3,474 at the 2019 show, i.e. 20.64% fewer in 2021) came to discover the jewels presented at GemGenève. After seeing our visitors’ smiles, I have no doubt that the eagerly awaited emotion of these reunions has also been synonymous with commercial success.

Alongside the exhibitors of vintage jewelry and high quality gems, the eight designers (Aline Debusigne, Regina Gambatesa, Studio Renn, Atelier Allure, G Suen, Alexandra Jefford, Cora Sheibani, Alexander Tenzo) have found a good success. joined the Designer Vivarium, organized by the jewel historian Vivienne Becker as well as five designers presented in the Emerging Talents section (Pierre d’Alexis, Horowicz Fine Jewelry, Ena Iro, Elena Okutova). The presentations and conferences also had good attendance with 30-40 people in the audience at each presentation: they will soon be available online on the GemGenève digital platform.

Once again, GemGenève has played its cards right, proposing a unique platform for expression, dedicated to the world of coloured stones, exceptional diamonds, pearls, antique and contemporary jewellery, famous designers, and emerging talents. We have had more buyers and international visitors than expected, especially from America and Asia. I should also point out that the buyers present were certainly determined to make new acquisitions and do business.
