Ayala Bar sees the summer

About Ayala Bar, designer based in Tel Aviv, we have often spoken. A reason to justify the great frequency with which we are dealing with her is that the jewelry brand “to walking” as she calls them, renews the collections at least twice a year, in autumn and spring, as for clothing . Just to give you an idea: for each season produces about 400 pieces including necklaces earrings, bracelets and rings. The prototypes are designed and made by the same Ayala and his laboratory team. Each piece is then reproduced by craftsmen devoting care and attention to detail. Obviously, then, that we show you the update of its proposal, in this case in view of the summer, following always his stylistic way: choker, necklace with central medallions, sautoir, earrings, bracelets, rings and brooches made pearls and beads, as well as objects found in the desert, the sea and the city, which became a source of inspiration. The satellite of the Earth continues to inspire Marco Bicego: Lunaria Lapis is the latest variation of Lunaria, classic collection of the Venetian designer (as we anticipated here). Lapis is going to lapis lazuli, the heavenly stone used along with gold to make the colors of the stars and, in particular, of the Moon. After presenting at VicenzaOro and Baselworld the anticipation of its novelties, the collection is now completely visible: we have brought together the images so as to provide a comparable level of some pieces, such as earrings and necklaces. They have irregular contours but soft, like small islands (or lunar holes), are composed by variously faceted stone and brushed gold surfaces. Around 15 lunar pieces to wear on Earth. Hermès, is one of the most famous French fashion brand in the world. And to say that the history of the company began in 1837, when Thierry Hermès, saddle maker, opened a shop in Paris of saddlery and horse harnesses. We have already anticipated a bit of jewelry that are part of the new collection 2016 by the brand Giorgio Visconti (https://gioiellis.com/le-18-anime-di-giorgio-visconti), Piedmont company that follows the safe routes of traditional jewelry , but with a clearly identifiable style. The circle is the essence of all things, the perfect form: Morellato probably thought so when he designed one of the collections for spring-summer 2016. The line of jewelry with low stress for the portfolios is called, precisely, Essence. Small and large circles are joined together to create bracelets, pendants, earrings and rings in silver rhodium. The jewels are either studio or two-tone versions, in addition to that with sapphire colour stone surrounded by a contrasting crystal pavé. The 2016 by Salvini (Damiani Group) is full of novelties. Let’s start with the most innovative collection presented: Catherine. First is different at first glance than the classic production of the brand, even if it maintains its classic style, clean, basic. But it is also a riot of rose cut diamonds. Ten to one you’ve never heard of this type of cut. You are not ignorant, it is really a kind of facet little used: the rose cut is a kind of cutting used in Dutch laboratories in the seventeenth century. The idea was a cut that gives greater brightness to diamonds to be used in the creation of prestigious jewelry. Although it has less faces and does not have the classic back to the tip of the classic round brilliant cut, the rose cut succeeds admirably to shine, thanks to new technologies that enrich the stone with facets on the edges of the table.
After this technical digression, we explain the origin of the name of collection: it’s inspired by the jewels of the Empress of Russia, Catherine the Great. The central cut roses in the collection is connected to the diamond Orlov (that has 200 carat), stone given to Catherine with intent seducers by the count. Although carats of Catherine’s jewelry collection are a bit smaller than «monstrous» diamond Orlov, now in the Kremlin museum, nestled in the tsar’s scepter.
Fortunately, the new collection of Catherine by Salvini is available in Italy. It consists of necklaces, rings and earrings, made of a white gold frame with diamonds that surround the central gem concentric circles. The two collections, which are based on the usual bracelets, are linked. The pieces that make up the Zen line are inspired, as you might guess, to Buddhist philosophy, understood as close with nature. The Tempo collection, characterized by the Arab and Roman numerals, which decorate the bracelets, is reflecting instead on the concept of the fourth dimension, that of age. How can we reconcile these deep thoughts with the jewelry? Who knows. You may think, though, that the pointer decorated in black enamel and gold bracelets on the line time is a reason not to consider the jewelry simple ornaments by Florentine brand, but a meme of something higher. Fope presents each year an updated version of blockbuster Eka collection. For 2016 the view chain necklace at Baselworld become lighter, thinner (called Eka Tiny). The necklace you can also attach two new pending: one is round and the other is drop-shaped, both have micro pavé. Another new entry is about Flex’it Solo and concerns as always the shape of little rollers: in this case the bulge is beveled according to a process defined humpbacked, arched. In practice, very oblique sides are joined at the top and give the optical illusion of amplifying the forms. So the three washers seem to six but the perception of wealth is even more visible thanks to micro pavé diamonds. I am increasingly jewels with Flex’it by Fope technology, the only entirely in gold (even the micro hidden springs, which make flexible the jewel, are made with the precious yellow metal).
News also in Vendôme line, decorated with wave motifs or “S” and, in its most precious version, completely hidden from the rings with diamonds in white gold and yellow. Prices: the bracelet of this collection costs around 18,000 Euros. High designed jewelry to be worn alone or combined with something more basic, because it is always discreet elegance and in fact the Fope bracelets are meant to be worn together, but are of different lines. To go from idea to prototype to modeling and, finally, the production of Phylo it took about a year. All made in the factory in Vicenza Fope, which seems to be more secure than Fort Knox does not so much not only for the amount of gold, but to guard the precious secrets of patented processes. Bicego goes to Masai

The Masai are a people living between Tanzania and Kenya. Shepherds, but also warriors, are famous for the colorful beaded jewelry they wear. The new collection of Marco Bicego beside Lunaria Lapis (https://gioiellis.com/bicego-blue-moon), presented at Baselworld 2016 is inspired by Masai, it acquires the name, but they don’t surrendered to the rainbow of colors of African ethnic aesthetics and instead opts for a more understated 18-carat gold, white or yellow, interspersed with a paved square where they reside nine diamonds. After the art deco, the Forties go firmly into the world of jewelry: Van Cleef & Arpels offers a new collection inspired by some of his historical pieces from that period. The collection is called Bouton d’or, that is, botton of gold, the name of the common flower of the grass of the buttercup family. But the jewels proposed in this reworking of his classic pieces, has little of common. First, for the shape of jewelry and, then, for the processing that is not at all simple. This setting originally was called sequins, is a complex process because it brings together so many tiny elements that make up the flowers. Not only: the materials are perforated at the center, where it commands a small round pink gold or a diamond. Rather complicated, even if the final effect is of harmony. In addition, all the pieces of the collection, from the necklace to bracelet, are soft, to facilitate the fit. The necklace, for example, adapts to the shapes of the body, as well as the cuff (slightly asymmetrical), while the earrings move following the steps of the wearer. There are also a raised ring and a pendant. The collection consists of two five jewelry parure each: one is red and the other is played on green tone. Both using rose gold: the first uses the nacre and carnelian (red). The other onyx (black) and chrysoprase (green). In addition, small diamonds (D, E or F for the color; IF and VVS for purity) increase the rate of brightness.

Inside the Giorgio Visconti collection 2016 there are 18 lines that live its own life, each with its own look and characterization based on rose and white gold and bold curves.
