The dragon fire heats Carrera y Carrera

The legend of the dragon with magical fire resumes in the Circulos de Fuego collection of Carrera y Carrera ♦
The legends have always inspired the artists. Not surprisingly, they also inspire designers and jewelers, especially if the legends are ancient, fascinating, exotic. Like that chosen by Carrera y Carrera for the Circulos de Fuego collection.
Here is the story from which it originated: once upon a time, there is a dragon called Orochie that lived on a hidden island in southern China. Throughout the realm it was known for turning every stone into the most precious metal with the flame coming out of its mouth. The legend states that the Emperor’s greatest desire was to get the Dragon’s Fire and thus possess the greatest treasure of the world. One morning, the Emperor decided to send his daughter, the most beautiful princess in the whole kingdom, to speak with Orochie. Princess Feng was so beautiful that Orochie fell in love with her and kissed her to gift her the fire. No one knew, however, that giving up his fire meant the death of the dragon. And so, she was so sad that decided not to marry and to always protect the fire of the Dragon with his own life.
From this romantic and sad story, the great Spanish Maison has embarked on a series of luscious jewels in white and yellow gold, plus a number of precious stones. These jewels will undoubtedly like in the Orient, but they also have a certain charm for Western women as well. Giulia Netrese

Tiffany & the City HardWear

/

Pictures and prices of Tiffany City HardWear collection ♦
As we mentioned before (read here), Tiffany launched a new jewelery collection, Tiffany City HardWear. The official idea is to represent New York’s energy and spirit. The real idea is to propose a line of jewels young, fresh and eye-catching for the Millenials. The proof is that the face of the new campaign is Lady Gaga. However, it is probable that jewels are more appreciated for what they are, a collection that can be easily worn, even to go to the office or to shop. Street style, in short, but obviously delicately sophisticated. To widen the audience of Maison enthusiasts on the Fifth Road and her potential customers, the jewels are available in two versions: in yellow, pink or silver. Same design, prices of course very different.
The design is very modern, almost industrial suggests Tiffany. The Link chain is characterized by simple and clean lines: the yellow gold chain necklace is created with scaled elements with a special retractable closure. The earrings are triple drops or, better, with three spheres held together by two small chains. There is also a single sphere model. Add to the bracelet a padlock and a small detachable ball. Prices: The bracelet costs 8,200 euros in the gold version, only 1,150 euros in silver. The three-ball earrings cost 3150 in the gold version and 580 euros in the silver version. Rings: With one sphere, the silver version costs 200 euros. Giulia Netrese

Roberto Coin is on air with Pois Moi

The new Pois Moi by Roberto Coin, with a bit of nostalgia for the televisions of the 1950s ♦
The play of words (with toi et moi), but obviously first of all the design, was rewarded: the Pois Moi collection by Roberto Coin is one of the successes. In Baselworld 2017, the Italian designer has presented new additions, variations on the style of the collection, which must be remembered, received the Palladio 2014 prize at VicenzaOro as the best Italian jewelery collection around the world. Only a few years have passed since the debut, but Pois Moi is now considered a brand icon.
It is a complete collection, which includes bracelets, rings, pendants and earrings. According to the Maison, the first version offered gold as the absolute protagonist in three yellow, white and pink colors. This is followed by a top version of the range, with diamond pavé. The design also has a somewhat fun background: it is inspired, in fact, to a vintage “television” style of the 1950s. This aspect is determined by the shape of rings, bangles and pavé embedded in the jewels, which recalls the shape of the first television sets. But observing a surface of diamonds can be just as enjoyable. Lavinia Andorno

Lebole does talk bijoux

A phrase or a word in French for the collection «Parlez pour moi» by Lebole Jewels ♦
In a world that speaks English, the sweet French idiom is welcome. Not only because French is a language of Latin origin and, therefore, with the soft pronunciation. But also because the language of Brigitte Bardot and Jean-Paul Sartre, Marcel Proust and Sophie Marceau, to mix culture and entertainment, is so out of date as to be the ultimate in fashion. That’s why bjoux Lebole Jewels collection of Parlez pour moi are really different from usual.
The jewelry line consists of six coins made of gold and silver, colour black worked, mounted on bracelets, necklaces and earrings, each of which carries a sentence inscribed in French. Here they are: A toi ma (To you, my), Parlez pour moi (Talk to me), Ne m’oubliez pas (Do not forget me), Bonjour (Hello), Fidelité (Fidelity), Porte Bonheur (Good luck). The coins are made of gold and silver black, mounted on bracelets, necklaces and earrings, each of which bears a word or phrase. Prices: from € 75 (bracelets) to 100 euro (necklaces). The Salvini’s rendezvous

Salvini launches Incontri collection. Here are images and price  ♦
The random encounters sometimes turn into love meetings, those that celebrate Valentine’s Day and then maybe go on for a long time. These Meetings with initial capital letter, are also those that have inspired Incontri, a new collection by Salvini. Incontri is a line of jewelry that is exactly half way, by price range, and that is why it will meet (it must be said) the public’s favor. The style prefers the line curves, with gold metal parts (white, yellow and pink) that intersect, as if to draw an alpha (α) letter.
The gold-setting is embellished with small diamonds, which sometimes surround, are set in pavé or are at the center of a halo-style setting, that is, with a diamond in the center and small diamonds around, to increase light reflection . The collection includes rings, bracelets, earrings and necklaces. Indicative prices: a base ring, without profusion of diamonds, costs less than a thousand euro. For the ring with diamonds rises to about 1500 Euros, whilst the bracelets have a price of around 2,000 euros. The collier ranging from one thousand to € 2,000, depending on the amount of diamonds used.

The Cannes Film Festival is not only a stage for the world of cinema, but also for that of jewelry. But, beyond the aspects of social life, for the seventieth edition of the Festival, the patron of the House, Fawaz Gruosi, he has prepared some surprises, such as the creation of a high-end jewelry bracelet, ready to walk the red carpet on the Croisette. The jewel, rose gold, is dotted with rubies embedding sauvage on blackened gold, with a mix of diamonds, in addition to 77 carats of cabochon emeralds. The style is unmistakable of the Swiss house, playing on contrasts, in this case delivered by the black rhodium, with a mix of shapes and cuts of stones. Giulia Netrese

A Liaison for Licia Mattioli

The Liaison collection by Mattioli: pink gold, diamonds and onyx for a passion that not goes out ♦
Licia Mattioli, who bravely founded the Turin-based company, is a passionate of art and often combines the collections of the Maison in individual works or artists. But the jewels are not only small works of craft or, sometimes, art. They mean even passion, sentiment, link. A Liaison, precisely as the name of the new collection presented at Baselworld by Mattioli.

They are not dangereuse the Liaison by the Piedmont brand: they are made of rose gold and precious stones. A geometric element, the jumper drilled, is the one that unites the jewelry on perpendicular axes, to form ringed meshes, chains, next gold, onyx and also using white diamonds. Three colors, in short, that form the basis on which they are made necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings. Lavinia Andorno

The bracelet with lifesaving built-in

A silver bracelet that warns who you want in case of aggression ♦
It’s called Amulet but, in reality, rather than bring luck should offer security. It is a silver bracelet that hides a small mechanism. If activated, the bracelet warns who you want. In short, it is a jewel for the safety of women.
“Not a day goes by without reading shocking news of abuse and violence against women, often with dramatic results. In many of these situations the victim might have had a chance if he had asked for help right away or if it had been possible to locate it in time zero “, explains Dovile Butnoriene, co-founder of Amulet. “For this reason we have integrated in a sterling silver bracelet and leather a tiny device that can alert friends and family via mobile phone by pressing a button. A solution that every woman who wants to feel safe but does not intend to compromise in terms of style, would wear without hesitation. After nearly two years of intense research and development, we are now able to propose to the general public Amulet, our smart lifesaving jewel.”
The jewel has been developed by a small company of Latvia, G Data: it is available from July 2017. The price of current price is $ 189, but the manufacturer has just launched its crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, where buyers can order the product at the price purchase of the first hour at $ 119. The target is to be able to mass produce, and then Amulet will move looking for business partners for distribution. Margherita Donato

The roaring collection by Messika

High jewelery by Messika dedicated to women, the Twenties and to revolution of manners. And to the diamonds, of course ♦

Messika, a name that translates as diamonds. Valérie Messika, is the designer who in Paris continues her father’s tradition, most linked to the precious, brilliant, exclusive precious stone.
At Baselworld 2017, Messika presented a new exceptional collection of unique, fine jewelry, which she describes as “modern and emancipated, inspired by the irresistible charm of the festive Paris of the twenties.”
A period of history, the one from 1919 to 1929, the “Roaring Twenties,” which is also remembered for the changes culturally and socially, but also for the way of life, especially for women. “They mark the advent of modernity,” says Valerie.
Isadora
The jewels line has so called to tribute to a woman who has marked the time. As Isadora Duncan, the dancer and choreographer who invented modern dance. She has dedicated to her an extraordinary necklace, which required 600 hours of work for the construction. It is composed of 139 diamonds with pear cut for over 42 carats. The Isadora necklace is accompanied by a cuff, with a cascade of increasingly pear cut diamonds for 13.50 carats, and asymmetrical earrings.
Ritzy
At the Hotel Ritz in the Place Vendome they stopped all the greats of the last century. Its rooms overlook the most crowded square of the biggest names in jewelry. Not only: the word ritzy in English means elegant, glamorous, and derives from the atmosphere that is breathed in the hotel. Elegant as Ritzy line by Messika: a necklace with 89 diamonds, this time with emerald cut, which looks as a round neck with tie. And then earrings, and a toi & moi ring.
Swinging Paris
The Swing is not just a musical rhythm, but also that of the Roaring Twenties. Messika remembers them with a cascade of 127 diamonds oval cut and others 2,407 diamonds gathered on a necklace. The realization of this piece of fine jewelry has required more than 1,200 hours of work, even for the accuracy with which they were chosen stones. The largest, mounted as a pendant, it has a weight of 3.26 carats. The mount is almost invisible, a truly outstanding job. The set consists also a toi & moi ring, always with oval cut diamonds, and a pair of asymmetrical earrings, even those with oval diamonds.
Flappers
The line has a chocker and a pair of earrings with a very Art Deco design with well marked geometric lines. The diamond necklace with diamond and emerald cut that alternate in a play of light that brings out a central stone: an emerald-cut diamond 2.06 carat (EVS1) faceted. By the way, flapper is a term indicating the generation of young women in their early twenties began to wear shorter skirts, hold bobbed hair, listen to jazz music and to question the conventions.
Madeleine
Madeleine Vionnet was a French fashion designer, creator of one of the most prestigious haute couture houses all of France. Messika dedicates to her a series of jewelry, starting from the necklace composed of 446 (four hundred forty-six) marquise diamonds, ending with a bigger stone pear cut 4 carats. The series is defined as a foulard of diamonds, but it is a simplistic description. In this line also belong a earcuff, a bracelet and a double ring, always with marquise diamonds.
Roaring Diamonds
Roaring Twenties is a phrase used to indicate the decade that has revolutionized the costume. And this gave the cue to the Maison for congegnare a necklace with diamonds pear cut, but with the tip pointing downwards, next to marquise cut diamonds. Different sizes of diamonds are together with a very dynamic effect, not easy to achieve. Of this range also includes a pair of earrings and a bracelet. Margherita Donato

Demeglio paints Aura

The new Aura bracelets and rings Roberto Demeglio: gold, ceramics and a splash of color ♦
He is a jewelry designer, but also a passionate about technology. The pairing between the two capabilities, as a shapes renewer and player of new materials, is for Roberto Demeglio the guideline of its activity. So when he created his own brand and, above all, his style, does not skimp on innovation. As about Aura collection, presented last year and renewed with Baselworld 2017, where the Maison from Turin was among the other big luxury brands.

The new pieces of the Aura collection continue the path traced by the line of jewelry: gold and ceramics, elastic bracelets with an ingenious patented mechanism and colors that are very innovative. The novelties are the soft pink shades, red, electric blue and brown. The ceramic color, material made with special techniques that make it resistant like a hard stone, represent an evolution for the designer, who has based his debut on the black and white. The bracelet Aura is available in different versions, with one, two or three rows. Since it is very comfortable to wear, it can be safely put on the wrist in the morning, despite the large dimensions of some models. Giulia Netrese

The new fashion jewelry by Michael Kors for the passionate of the American designer ♦
For the fashion & jewelry series, here is the summer collection by Michael Kors and made by Fossil. The concept is always the same one used for the previous collections: steel coated with rose gold color, white or yellow, with small crystals which in this case are transformed into a pattern of studs. Resin beads are input into necklaces or at the end of long gold earrings. We are, of course, in fashion jewelry, not in high jewelry. But for many passionate of American fashion designer can be an opportunity to renew the jewelry without the risk of having to ask for a bank loan. The necklace costs about 120 euro, while falls below 100 euro for earrings and rings. Giulia Netrese

Dada Arrigoni, the ’80s are back

The new curves Dada Arrigoni, with a little nostalgia of eighties ♦
The designer in Bergamo Dada Arrigoni continues the race began in 1985 with a daring exploration of the curved shape. And also 2017 has started along a road full of ellipses and parabolic lines. There are many new jewelry and lodged among VicenzaOro and Baselworld: collections that retain their own style of the Maison, with pink gold and diamonds to punctuate the round lines of jewelry. One of the newcomers is the D-Band collection, which is a dip in the eighties, with the shape of wide bracelet to cover the entire wrist. The bracelets, or rings, are therefore constituted by a metal band, but broken by a form that resembles a comma, on which are embedded two rows of diamonds.
A style that also goes to DD Line collection, always centered on the visual waves triggered by the double curved metal or triple, again dotted with diamonds. The shape reminds the sign of infinity, but in three dimensions. Giulia Netrese

New hearts for Chopard

New hearts in malachite and tiger’s eye for the collection of Chopard Happy Hearts ♦
Chopard presented numerous innovations at Baselworld. One of these it’s about Happy Hearts collection. Presented by time and revisited in the summer of 2016, the collection has been enriched with new pieces, especially with earrings, bracelets and long necklaces sautoir with malachite and tiger eye, to which is added a small white diamond. As you might guess, the form around which the pieces are made in rose gold, is that of the heart.
It must remember that one of the jewels of the collection, the bracelet with hearts in coral, is linked to the initiative charitable Petra Nemcova, Prague 20014 model who she was miraculously saved by the tsunami while she was in Thailand (the boyfriend instead , is dead). Petra, which has become an ambassador of Chopard has created the Happy Hearts Fund, which is responsible for building schools in developing countries. Chopard donates 17% of the proceeds from the sale of bracelet in 18k rose gold and coral to Happy Hearts Fund. Lavinia Andorno

Damiani makes flourish Margherita

The Margherita collection by Damiani: history of flowers and a queen ♦
Peel off the petals of these daisies (you say margherite in italian language) would be a shame. Not only for the cost of such an operation, but also because it would ruin a job well done jewelery. Damiani, however, launched the Margherita collection, which is shaped like a daisy, thinking of another Margherita.
Read also A Crown for Damiani
To be precise, in honor of Queen of Italy Margherita di Savoia, wife of Umberto I. A very popular woman in the early twentieth century: she was social before there were social networks. And it is a compliment to remember that the Margherita pizza is named in her honor. She was also much appreciated by Enrico Grassi Damiani, who in his time has dedicated to her a jewel. The history of the House of Valenza records that the daisy, understood as a flower, then reappeared in the seventies through the work of Damiano Damiani, son of Enrico, maybe inspired by the hippie culture with Bloom collection. The new collection Margherita, however, combines the two references, one of the queen and that of the flower, and starts from the sketches signed by the founder: rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces of the collection are made of gold, with precious and semiprecious stones, bezels and refined design details. But you don’t hope to have a whole bouquet.

51 acorns for Tamara Comolli

The new bracelet of Candy collection of Tamara Comolli. Very precious candies ♦
Who likes candy? To everyone. So the little sweet replaces the traditional cake to celebrate 25 years of Tamara Comolli. Or, rather, for the activity of its brand. The German designer, in fact, created for the anniversary a new edition of bracelet of Candy collection, Mikado Flamenco, added to the other iconic jewels with cut acorn for stones. For the first time the bracelet is available in rose gold. This special edition, however, was limited to just 25 pieces, each marked with a gold chip engraved.
The bracelet, Mikado Flamenco, is made with 51 gems in the shape of acorns, selected choosing from the offer of more than ten different suppliers. The Germanic precision, in this case, results in a very careful selection of stones. Also because it is a piece of jewelry that costs 44,990 euros. The acorn shape, symbol of the Maison, is a kind of exclusive cut introduced by Tamara Comolli.
The jewelry designer, German by birth, she has an international and multicultural vision. And it’s very eclectic: before becoming a designer, she graduated from the Business School of Monaco of Bavaria. She then founded his brand in 1992. But she has established itself in the United States, only to reappear on the European market. Her collections are sold in a more then hundred jewelery stores, and in single-brand boutiques. Piaget, the colors of Possession

Piaget renews the classic Possession collection with colored stones.
What is it like to possess the possession? Simple, you enter the ranks of possessor and you are possessed by the satisfaction if your purchase is related to a jewel, possibly high quality. Was it on this thread that led Piaget to baptize as Possession one of its most popular lines of fine jewelry? Maybe. But who wants to possess or be possessed by the thrill of the jewel signed by the Swiss Maison now has two more chances. The first is the sales channel, because Piaget has opened the possibility of buying jewelry online, via Net-a-Porter, which is controlled by the Richemont group, which also includes Piaget. But the point is not the financial aspect, but the fact that a premium brands opens their doors to online sales of jewelry that are normally distributed only through Piaget stores.
The other more chance is that relating to the new Piaget Possession line, which opens another door, this time to the colors. Instead of just the simple gold and diamonds, to the jewels of the collection are added stones like carnelian, malachite, turquoise, onyx, lapis lazuli. The collection, which was introduced 25 years ago, however, renewed without forgetting the moving parts of the jewelry, which rotate and make rings or pendants almost a pastime with which to fiddle. The long sautoir necklaces, moreover, can be worn on different dimensions, so as to be able to wear even both together. Even the rigid bracelets, but flexible, with the stones end, can be used more than one at same time. And, finally, are flexibles also the prices: for bracelets, ranging from a low of about 2,000 Euros to 6,950 Euros.
