More Lamellae for Georg Jensen

The new pieces by Georg Jensen Lamellae collection designed by Zaha Hadid. And a line with Gemfields.
When was spring he surprised everyone with a high-end collection designed by archistar Zaha Hadid, who died a few months later. And for the Georg Jensen autumn he presented another novelty: a limited edition collection of Mobius, born in the sixties, to be supplied only on Amazon, in collaboration with Gemfields. The silver jewelry have a small, embedded Ruby. The Georg Jensen brand has already accomplished 110 years, and from Denmark it has moved between the Emirates and Beijing: in 2012 the company was purchased by entrepreneur David Chu Chinese and Bahrain Investcorp Bank. But even if the property resides abroad, style, culture and the creation of the brand’s products are still Danish. Georg Jensen was known a time especially for objects of silver and stainless steel, while now most of the revenues derives from jewelry, to 43 percent gold. And made in gold is now a new range of jewelery designed by Zaha Hadid: the Lamellae line is made up of many metal blades. When it was presented at Baselworld it was completely made in silver. The new jewelry is in yellow gold or rhodium-plated silver with small diamonds between the slats (price of a bracelet: 33,600 euro). Lavinia Andorno

Atelier Swarovski goes Pilotto

Peter Pilotto joins the Atelier Swarovski club, the luxury accessory line created by the Austrian brand in 2007. An example of contamination between fashion, jewelry, architecture and design result of collaboration with the world’s leading designers: from Maison Margiela to Mary Katrantzou, Karl Lagerfeld and Zaha Hadid, just to name a few of the more than 60 people that have demonstrated by their style the infinite creative potential of crystal. The one of Pilotto, a British designer beloved by the UK celeb, including the wife of the Prime Minister Cameron, is sculptural and statement. It’s inspired by nature, not by chance that the collection is named Arbol, but also by modern art with intricate and kaleidoscopic branches of Swarovski crystals. Sparkle of frames of elongated and thin lines as famous kinetic sculptures, or embedded in metal colorful thanks to the rhodium finish. The effect is that of a jewel characterized by a lively dynamism of shapes with strong aesthetics, but easy to wear. There is chocker composed of many crystals assembled like molecules, the necklace with a more floral design, cuff in bright shades of red and orange, even if is  Fall/Winter 2016 collection, the bracelet with a graphically and contemporary lace. Definitely original,  the collection will be available in stores from September. Baselworld: Zaha Hadid for Jensen

Bring together a master of Danish design, Georg Jensen, an international star of architecture, the Iranian architect Zaha Hadid. The result is a marriage celebrated at Baselworld. A professional marriage, mind you, signed with a collection of jewelry designed by Zaha Hadid, who to better emphasize the novelty has also designed the pavilion housing the Danish brand to the international jewelery fair. And the shape of the space is similar to the style with which it conceived the jewelry collection: many blades aligned to form waves, sine waves, shimmering metal parables. The sculptural shapes and curves are made from silver and black rhodium with diamonds blacks. If you like the design and you want to rush to buy the pieces of Georg Jensen jewelry collection and Zaha Hadid, however, you’ll have to wait until September. Prices range from $ 500 to $ 25,000. The collection will be on sale in Georg Jensen boutique including the London flagship store in Mount Street, which opened last fall. Giulia Netrese
