When, on the other hand, creativity is added to a real novelty also for the architecture and engineering work of a jewel, you have to stand up and applaud. This is the case of Picchiotti’s Xpandable collection. As we explained at the moment of the launch of the collection, these jewels are made with an innovative technology that Picchiotti does not hesitate to define as revolutionary.

The high jewelery of the Maison of Valencia, which enjoys deserved fame on many foreign markets, could be summarized by the flower-shaped ring with a 9.45-carat sapphire in the center, surrounded by white diamonds and other blue sapphires. This is perhaps one of the most significant examples of Picchiotti, who loves to combine a creativity that can be defined as pictorial with goldsmith craftsmanship.

Another maxi sapphire, weighing 9.27 carats, is mounted on a ring from the Xpandable collection. But it is unique, not only for the quality and weight of the stone, but also for the particular setting: seen from the side, the ring presents a series of diamonds that make the volume even more precious. Speaking of Xpandable: the collection is enriched with other increasingly rich pieces, with the combination of diamonds of different sizes, with a thin gold border that delimits the volume of the jewel.

Picchiotti is one of the great Italian Maison of high jewelery. Founded in 1967 by Giuseppe Picchiotti, it has established itself for the high quality of its jewels and for a recognizable style. By the way: this article is not the result of a commercial relationship with Picchiotti, but it is a free judgment. The premise simply serves to explain that the high or fine jewelery of the company from Valenza (Italy) has taken on very specific characteristics over the years. But, as in all stories, every now and then there is something new.

In fact, at Vicenzaoro September, Picchiotti presented a preview of wide rigid bracelets that represent a new stylistic path. The bracelets are made of gold, with a large central yellow sapphire, and inserts of white or black ceramic, enclosed by gold bands that draw an arabesque. Other colored sapphires, pink and blue, dot the surface. In short, a jewel that, alongside luxury, focuses on liveliness and perhaps a young woman, who loves color and more sporty clothing. Or she is simply attracted to original and quality jewelry.

Also in Vicenzaoro, the Maison also presented more traditional rings from the Xpandable collection, a patented system that adapts to the size of the fingers. The rings are of the eternity genre with baguette-cut diamonds of class D and F (the best quality), or with 18 aligned emerald-cut rubies, and surrounded by baguette-cut diamonds. High jewelry, but comfortable. Starting from this principle, five years ago Picchiotti introduced the jewelry line with the Xpandable brand, which already indicates the solution to the problem. The system, patented in the USA, allows bracelets and rings to widen or tighten, in order to be able to adapt to the body of the wearer. An invisible and not simple solution, for jewels composed largely of diamonds and precious stones, but which has proved to be functional. The Maison of Valenza has continued to update the Xpandable collection, but has now added a piece that stands out.

The new jewel is a bracelet that also uses snakewood wood, in botany rauvolfia serpentina, also called Indian snakeroot, devil’s pepper or serpentine wood: a plant widespread in India. The choice is related to Xpandable’s five years: a period of time that is usually referred to as a “wooden wedding”. The bracelet is a limited edition and is made of 18k rose and white gold, brilliant cut diamonds, as well as wood which has a streaked appearance. It goes without saying that the bracelet is also absolutely comfortable to wear.

In September Picchiotti presented a new collection consisting of engagement rings, wedding bands, wedding jewelry and anniversary.

The collection includes 60 pieces and, in addition to making the eyes shine, it adds an innovative technology to solve problems such as the sizing of the ring and the weight of the dangling earrings.

The new bridal collection uses rings and straps from Picchiotti’s Xpandable collection, which with a special patented technology allows the ring to adapt to the finger up to two sizes. To be clear: when you wear the ring, there are not springs to see out of stem. Outside you can not see anything different, but the jewel is soft as if it were elastic.
This system also has another advantage: a man can surprise his girlfriend or bride without knowing exactly the size of the ring. In addition, the ring can be adapted to the finger even when the body buys a few extra pounds (and it happens, it happens).
In this collection there are also three particularly precious rings: these are jewels that mount fancy yellow, intense or natural diamonds, of maximum purity, with cushioned and flown cuts, mounted on platinum or gold. They are notable for their beauty and weight, respectively 11.07, 10.10 and 7.3 carats. Price on request.

Xpandable is one of Picchiotti’s most popular collections. The high-end jewelry Maison in Valenza has in fact thought of combining the concept of luxury with that of comfort: the rings or bracelets of this collection boast not only a great wealth of raw material, that is, the precious stones used, but also the pleasantness of a flexible system that adapts to the finger or the wrist thanks to an invisible elastic system (thanks to a patent). No fear, therefore, that the precious jewel is no longer wearable because of a severe weight loss diet or (more often) of a few pounds that is added over time.
Picchiotti at Baselworld 2018 presented a series of new pieces of great appeal of the series. But now he anticipates another, destined to shine at the next Couture in Las Vegas. It is a ring with seven extraordinary octagonal emeralds in a three-dimensional setting of baguettes and round diamonds. Certainly one of the leading pieces of the Piedmontese company. But also the other rings are not less preciouses. The jewels are conceived with central stones of particular value. Among all, to report a ring with a rare oval sapphire of purple color, not heated, which is also the Pantone Color for 2018. Debuts at Baselworld the Amphitheatre ring, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Picchiotti brand. But not only.
Few Italian brands summarize the ability to interpret the jewelry with a classic, elite, and refined style as Picchiotti. A story that has lasted since 1967, when Giuseppe Picchiotti has made its foray into the world of jewelry with the opening of a studio in Valenza. Before long, the Maison has risen from debutant role to that of big player in the playing field of high-end jewelry. The style of Picchiotti have is traditional, classic, but not trivial. Indeed, often the great gems used for rings, necklaces and earrings raise an “oh” of surprise.
One proof is L’Anfiteatro (The Amphitheatre), a ring intended to celebrate an important date: the 50th birthday of the brand. The ring in the middle of fulfilling its task: at the center stands a 08.05 carat ruby and the design is inspired by a drawing of the founder and managing director of the company, Giuseppe Picchiotti. For the ring, the debut in society it was set at Baselworld 2017. The tradition embraces the 21st century in the Xpandable collection by Picchiotti. A wide range of rings band and bracelets, to suit all sizes of wrists and fingers thanks to a hidden mechanism constructed with the utmost care, as well as the setting and the cut of the stones are executed with the perfection of fine jewelery. The design is original, the technology is advanced because the jewelry is flexible and provides maximum comfort and fit, crafting instead is the classic one. And in fact, they are made by the same goldsmiths that have replicated over the years one of the icon jewel of Valenza brand: the Rose brooch with a pavé 400 diamonds pavé.
