And now, Tiffany HardWear

/

Tiffany HardWear: the pictures of collection announced with Lady Gaga video.
First, it’s been the movie with Lady Gaga as the protagonist. Now is the time of collection announced by the singer: Tiffany Hardwear refers to the feeling of being citizens of New York. A feeling that it should be transmitted through the new jewelry line, and it is also the debut of the new creative director of Tiffany, Reed Krakoff, who replaced Frances Amfitheatrof. Probably, though, even if inspired to New York, the new collection can delight even those who love the countryside, or prefer London or Paris. Tiffany Hardwear, in fact, has a very simple design, not sophisticated, although it has a link with the world of fashion. The idea is inspired by a bracelet unisex 1971. Now, however, the collection has been enlarged to include earrings, rings, necklaces and pendants. The necklace, for example, is composed of a chain 18 carat gold and is associated to the classic padlock, but also geometric element which is repeated in the whole collection: the sphere. The collection has two versions: gold and silver. You will find in Tiffany stores from April 28 and May 2 online. Giulia Netrese

Earthquake at Tiffany’s

Tiffany changes Creative Director: via Francesca Amfitheatrof, arrives Reed Krakoff. What will change?
Earthquake at Tiffany’s. Breakfast, this time, is for Reed Krakoff, new chief artist officer. Simultaneously resigned Francesca Amfitheatrof, design director of the brand since 2013. A sudden lightning? Maybe. Because the changing of the guard takes place after one year not particularly positive for sales of American brand. Krakoff, who was also the creative mind of Coach and Ralph Lauren, already collaborated with Tiffany since last year for gift collections, home and accessories. Now, however, he will have in hand all the creativity of Tiffany. The direction of Francesca Amfitheatrof came up against a market that, according
many, has lost its attractiveness for Millenials. For two years the store of Tiffany have marked sales rather gray, mitigated by the statement given in the fall, but that relates to China and Japan. In contrast, sales of jewelry with blue boxes are stagnant in the United States, area that is more than 50% of group turnover. Even the legendary store in downtown New York has suffered this year due to the proximity of the Trump Tower, became the target of opponents of the new occupant of the White House: the store for that fell by 14% in November and December. Now for Tiffany it is the turning point.

12 jewelery watches for 2017

Here are 12 jewelery watches that all would like to have on your wrist.
To know what time is it you don’t need a clock: smartphones and computers are always on hand to unveil the time with absolute precision. But a bracelet that, among other things, also marks the time, is something else. The jewelry-watch does not belong to the category of simple mechanisms that mark the seconds. They are an ornament, an accessory, a precious ring that encircles the wrist and do a shining. The most precious also are masterpieces of high jewelry, with elaborate scale of diamonds and precious stones, able to warm up the eyes (and wallet) who seeks them and the wearer. Often they have diamonds, with pavé in elaborate geometric patterns shape. Others prefer intricate decorations around the watch case, usually reduced to a minimum. But there are those who embarks on combinations of colored stones and even coral. Here, then, 12 watches which are mostly jewelery, to count the hours of a new year. Lavinia Andorno

Sotheby’s, surprises collectibles

Jewelry style, collector rings, magnificent jewels: there are last fireworks of the year at auction at Sotheby’s in December.
Lovers of exceptional jewelry, collectors of gemstones, design lover: it is the your moment. As every year, the big auction houses ring the trumpets before Christmas and, like the fireworks year-end, they reserve for the last few minutes the sound barrels, the flashes that make gape, the lights of antique jewelry and pedigree.

In New York, on 8 and 9 December Sotheby’s takes the field with two sets of sales. The first day is reserved for the Magnificent Jewels, with jewelry from the collection of George and Anne Licthblau. George Lichtblau, entrepreneur, studied electrical engineering at Princeton University before attending Harvard Business School, after which he became an innovator of optical fiber industry, founding two transmission companies to great success. The mystery set is that of a patented technique in 1933 that allows the stones to be stopped without see the griffes. The collection also includes a jadeite and diamond brooch by Cartier (estimate 100-150,000 dollars) dated circa 1925.
Collection Joan Oestreich Kend
This sale is characterized by private collections. Joan Oestreich Kend was one of the first female stockbrokers on Wall Street. Grew up in a wealthy family, was always surrounded by art and antiques. The pleasure of buying beautiful things has not lost during his life in New York, in his apartment on Fifth Avenue, where she was exposed the Oestreich Kend collection. A highlight of the collection is a diamond ring emerald-cut 11.15 carat (estimated 425 to 525,000 dollars) and a classic set of necklace and the parenthesis clip series of Bulgari (estimated 18 to 22,000 dollars).
Gifts session
The second auction at Sotheby’s is dedicated to Fine Jewels, dedicated to those who want to buy high-quality pieces, perhaps to make a gift. The news is not small: Tiffany called a designer for a new capsule collection. The designer is Eddie Borgo, winner of the first CFDA / Vogue Fashion Fund Tiffany & Co. Development Grant. 11 Masterpieces by Tiffany

/

The images of 11 Masterpieces 2016 by Tiffany you should definitely see.
When Tiffany walks up the stairs of the jewelry to offer high-end pieces, few manage to be at par. This is the case of Masterpieces, jewels that interpret the common spirit of beauty, luxury, precious (we have anticipated a part here). Masterpieces are kind of concert where the singer or the band tries to give the best of their abilities: some examples you see on this page. There are colored diamonds that are a workhorse of Tiffany, large precious stones, queen’s necklaces, princess’s bracelets, Art Deco style, and historical pieces as the elephant-shaped clips designed by the legendary Jean Schlumberger.
Francesca Amfitheatrof, creative director of Tiffany, has designed the collection in two themes, Prism Tiffany and Tiffany Ribbons. The first is inspired by the work of Louis Comfort Tiffany, the first designer of the company, which was also famous for its lamps with colored glasses. Obviously in this case the kaleidoscope of colors is realized with precious stones, juxtaposed with pleasant contrasts. Tiffany Ribbons consists of jewelry that draped fabric surfaces as if they were: light appear and explains Francesca Amfitheatrof, are inspired by the lightness of Haudrey Hepburn, who has contributed a lot to the myth of Tiffany. But in reality the Masterpieces, which have noble origins in the archives of New York of the Maison, often follow individual streets, lonely, by piece out of the ordinary, as it must be a masterpiece. Tiffany offers a silver version of three rings and one bracelet of the Seventies, for the series Out of Retirement.
Tiffany & Co. don’t goes retire. Or, rather, it decided to interpret even in a silver, the jewelry collection Out of Retirement (we talked about here). The Tiffany models, in fact, are never withdrawn, ie removed from the catalog, but are kept in the archives, ready to return to the market even after a period of deserved rest. As it happens now with these jewels originally made of gold and are now replicated in silver, at a more affordable price. The jewels of the collection Out of Retirement form part of the Tiffany archives. “I really love the idea of the collection Out of Retirement” is the comment by Francesca Amfitheatrof, design director of Tiffany & Co. “Modernity and the beauty of the materials have always been the essence of Tiffany and these pieces are still absolutely contemporary, as were when they were created for the first time. They are full of charm and spirit that have always been part of the brand’s DNA. ” The jewels of the collection presented Out of Retirement silver rings are three-sculpture and a bracelet, all based on designs found in the Tiffany archives. The Block Ring is inspired by a ring present in the Blue Book of 1973, Pyramid Ring, instead recalls ancient architecture and was present in the Blue Book of 1971, as the Rectangle Ring is made of a drawing of 1971, while Interlocking Bangle, in silver and rosewood, is proposed by a drawing of 1975. Tiffany, a brooch big as an elephant

A Tiffany initiative in defense of nature and against poaching of elephants.
A pin can be as big as an elephant? Yes, if it is one that Tiffany offers within the #KnotOnMyPlanet campaign. Objective: raising funds in support of the end of the elephant poaching and to stop global traffic and therefore the demand for ivory. As the member of the U.S. Wildlife Trafficking Alliance and as part of Tiffany’s commitment to sustainability, the campaign asks everyone not to forget the elephants at the Elephant Crisis Fund by making a donation. The campaign features some “friends of the House,” they wear, along with a node, a brooch in the shape of the elephant (to scale, though) made in yellow gold and enamel, part of Tiffany Masterpieces 2016 collection that Tiffany & Co. will donate to the cause.

(Italiano) Festival, a Venezia vince Cartier

At the Venice Film Festival, the Golden Lion for the jewelry goes to Cartier for the collier wore by Monica Bellucci.
The Venice Film Festival ended with a challenge with no holds barred. But, in addition to the awards for actors and directors, the battle on the red carpet has involved great names in jewelery. There is a clear winner in this glitzy War: Cartier. The French company, in fact, was present with the great necklace worn by Ambassador for official occasions of the brand Monica Bellucci, under escort of four bodyguards (in every sense, in this case). At the screening of On the milky road directed by Emir Kusturica, Monica Bellucci, the protagonist, wore a necklace made of four strands of diamonds and pearls and a large pendant with a big stone. The estimated value of the jewel, one piece, is 5 million euro. After the screening of the film, the jewel was immediately taken to safety. It won, for sure, the Golden Lion for jewelry. A place of honor, however, one has earned de Grisogono. On the occasion of the premiere of Indobious Battle, Ashley Greene on the red carpet has worn the Fan earrings black and white, perfectly matched to her dress signed by Alberta Ferretti. Less showy the presence of Tiffany: jewels of the American company have been worn by Claudia Potenza, leading actress of the film Monte by Amir Naderi (Elsa Peretti earrings Snake in silver). Tiffany also Chinese actress Zhao Wei and member of the jury, who chose Tiffany Jazz earrings in platinum and diamonds. Giulia Netrese

Tiffany, masterpieces all-round

Tiffany Masterpieces 2016: jewels ball-shaped, very colorful.
Tiffany Masterpieces 2016: creative director of American Maison, Francesca Amfitheatrof, played another wild card, extracted from the traditions archive. This time it was inspired by Louis Comfort Tiffany, artist and American designer, famous for his creations in the Art Nouveau style, made with glass mosaics and pond. It is the famous Tiffany glass. Not only: Louis Comfort Tiffany was also a painter and creator of jewelry and furniture. He was the first design director of the Maison, the same post occupied by Francesca Amfitheatrof, and he had a particular skill in choosing the mix of light and colors. The glasses of lamps rounded Tiffany give off colored flares. Just like the jewelry line now proposed by the New York brand, made with garnets, sapphires and diamonds to create rings and pendants that reflect the colors of the stones. They are all very heated tones: blue, pink, orange, green, even more vivid thanks to the reflections of small diamonds that increase the brightness. Probably they would have the approval of Louis Comfort Tiffany. Giulia Netrese

The latest news are about the wedding of Pippa Middleton, sister of Kate, Duchess of Cambridge and wife of the heir to the throne Williams. She was photographed with a large diamond ring, precious sign of engagement with James Matthews, a rich businessman. If Kate has received the ring with sapphire once belonged to Diana Spencer, mother of Williams, you can not say that Pippa ring is less important. According to the expert gemologist of the Daily Telegraph, the ring has a value of about 200,000 pounds, or about 240,000 euro. The engagement ring is not the classic solitaire. It is octagonal in shape and has been purchased by London jeweler Robinson Pelham, serving for years the Middleton family and provided the diamond earrings that the Duchess of Cambridge wore on her wedding day.
The advantage of the square shape
According to experts, the symmetrical proportions of the rings with square stones, which not coincidentally are called princess, have the advantage of appearing larger than with round shape. They also tend to get better value for money, because the square cut is easier for those who work the stones and you can waste less material. Alessia Mongrando

Alessia Mongrando

New T for Tiffany

/

Back to Tiffany T. The collection, launched last year (you can find the article here) is enriched with new pieces. La Maison in New York is fully active, also to balance the first quarter than brilliant from the point of view of sales. And here, then, that Tiffany proposes the continuation of the theme, after the rigid bracelets with two simple T and, more generally, across the board promoted by creative director Francesca Amfitheatrof, it’s liked a lot. Customers Tiffany, it seems, have spent a lot more for the T Collection for any other fashion collection ever made in the past. And here, then, new variants with four rings and a bracelet baptized T Wrap. The jewelry is made of silver, or pink or yellow gold, with a version that also contains diamonds wrap around the fingers or wrist in a simple, no frills. Nothing essentially new, in fact, but nothing is better than to please customers. Margherita Donato

From paper to credit card: you forgive the joke, please, but it does not happen every day in the world of jewelry that someone who has worked in a newspaper ends on the other side of the barricade. Presently, however, with Grace Coddington, which for nearly 30 years she was right arm of the dreaded chief of Vogue USA, Anna Wintour. Tiffany, in fact, announced a creative collaboration and partnership with the stylist. Grace Coddington will direct his first advertising campaign of the legendary brand: it will begin appearing in magazines (for sure on Vogue) in September, to continue until the Christmas season. Coddington for truth has already left the role of creative director of the monthly fashion to gennaioe has already dealt with brands such as Japan’s Comme des Garçon. “Tiffany and its famous Blue Box, has always had a special meaning for me,” he commented. The choice of the expert of communications it’s needed, probably, to give boost to sales of American brand, which slowed down in the last quarter. Federico Graglia
