Tamara Comolli, Snowflakes in summer

Large leaves in gold, diamonds and colored sapphires in the renewed Snowflakes collection by Tamara Comolli ♦ ︎
In Forte dei Marmi it is already snowing. But no tourist in the Tuscan town overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea worries about it. The snow, in fact, has the shape of the jewels of the Snowflakes collection that Tamara Comolli presents in Italy. The designer from Munich decided, in fact, to open her first single-brand store in Italy in Forte dei Marmi and, at the same time, to present the new pieces of the collection, inspired by the shape of a leaf and which alluding not to winter, but to Adam and Eve. The leaf used, according to the Bible, to protect the modesty of the two progenitors, becomes a great pendant on a very long chain. The collection, presented in 2004, is now renewed and includes leaves composed of gold elements with a set stone, repeated and juxtaposed to each other, like a puzzle.
The leaf-shaped pendants start from a rib made of white, yellow, pink or blackened gold, on which are placed the individual elements, also of gold, which embed a diamond in the center. There is also a pendant with a double embedding: on one side it is lit by diamonds, on the other with the color of sapphires, to offer a double opportunity.
Tamara Comolli in her collections never miss her strong piece, the bracelet. In the Snowflakes collection it has different combinations of colors of stones, white and brown diamonds, pink, blue and violet sapphires, or in the more casual version with spinels, tsavorites, amethysts. In addition to other bracelets and sautoir with single elements are arranged in a row, one after the other, to wrap the wrist.

Tamara Comolli in Versilia

The first mono-brand boutique of Tamara Comolli opens in Forte dei Marmi ♦
Tamara Comolli makes her debut in Italy in Piazzetta Tonini, Forte dei Marmi (Lucca). The ribbon cutting of the store is simultaneously with the opening of the bathing season in June. The city of Versilia, the most elegant and frequented by a level tourism, will be the new address of the German jewelry brand. «I’m really excited to announce the opening of a new boutique in Forte dei Marmi», comments Tamara Comolli, designer and founder of the brand. «Italy is part of my personal history and plays a fundamental role in the production of jewelery that bears my name. The passion for beauty in all its forms, the vital energy that you breathe here, the creativity and the proximity to the sea are elements that push me today to fix in this place full of charm an important step in the path of growth of my brand name. Forte dei Marmi is a renowned destination for elite tourism, the scent of the sea and the elegance that vibrate in every corner will create the ideal atmosphere to communicate our concept of jewelry, easy chic and precious, relaxed and refined».
In particular, in the boutique there are collections as Signature, built around the rounded shape of the drop, symbol of the brand. But also top collections like Mikado, with stones in the classic (for the brand) acorn shape. The boutique in Forte dei Marmi is the second step of the brand’s landing in Italy, started last year with the entry from Pisa Orologeria to Milan. The aim of the brand is to make its distribution more widespread, combining the selection of jewelers with the upcoming boutique. In this expansion plan Italy will play a leading role as a fundamental step in the growth strategy on an international scale.

Tamara Comolli in pastel shades for spring and summer. Images and prices ♦ ︎
Waiting to open its first store in Italy, more precisely in Forte dei Marmi (Lucca), the designer from Munich, Tamara Comolli, presents the news for spring. First of all, an evolution of Mikado, the collection that for years is one of the flags of the Maison, with gems cut into the classic acorn shape. The Mikado Flamenco bracelet is now also available in the Champagne version, with 18-carat white gold. Mikado Flamenco Champagne consists of 51 morganite stones with shades from pink to peach, moonstone and rutilated quartz gems and a single pendant. The closure is covered with a pavé of white diamonds (0.79 carats). The price of the bracelet is 36,990 euros.
The Champagne version bracelet represents the strongest piece among the news of Tamara Comolli. But there are other versions, such as Palm Beach. In this case the tones used are those that Pantone refers to as Pink Lavender, Nile Green and Blooming Dahlia. In tune with the world of fashion, the colors are pastel, very soft. The stones used are water-colored chalcedony, blue and pink, and prehnite (price: 32.990 euros). And under the name of Sweet as Ice Cream, here are other jewels that use the same set of bracelet colors, such as pendants, earrings and rings. But, in this case, in addition to the shape of the acorn Tamara Comolli also uses the other geometry that occurs in the collections of the brand, that is paisley, traditional design of Persian and Indian origin, obtained by depicting a leaf in the shape of a drop (price of a pendent 990 euro). Baselworld: win or flop?

Baselworld 2018, number of visitors unchanged. Here’s who is happy and who is puzzled among jewelers ♦ ︎
It depends. The final judgment on Baselworld 2018 can be summarized as follows: it depends. Because the Basel Watch and Jewelery Fair (22-26 March 2018) had two faces. One is the one summarized by two numbers: 1300 and 650. The first is the number of exhibitors, already declining, in 2017 (there were 1500 in 2016). The second is the number of exhibitors in 2018, less than half. A massacre. «A selection», he prefers to call it the managing director of Mch, the company that organizes Baselworld. But, in fact, it depends on the points of view. Faced with such a drastic reduction could have been much worse. The final balance of Baselworld 2018, in the words of the organizers is, if not exciting, at least sufficient. The number of visitors, for example, “has remained stable”. Since the fair lasted two days less, this is considered a success. At the moment we do not know the number of buyers present. 4,400 journalists came to Baselworld, 15% less from Europe, but 5% more from Asia. And if many big brands, such as Festina or Dior, this year have defected the Basel fair, Breitling, Rolex, Patek Philippe, Swatch, Chanel and Gucci have already announced that they will also be present next year, from 21 to 26 March 2019 .
And exhibitors? The opinions are different. Again, it depends. Among the opinions collected by gioiellis.com among jewelers, prevails a lack of enthusiasm for the new formula “concentrated”, which for some is “sad” when compared to the atmosphere that was breathed until a couple of years ago. But at the same time, many have confirmed that commercial activity has not been lacking and, therefore, the presence in Basel still has a reason for being. From the comments collected during the fair, we can summarize the mood:
We are equally satisfied: Fope, Pasquale Bruni, Nanis, Alessio Boschi, Tamara Comolli, Picchiotti, Messika, Mattioli, Rivière
Everything is OK, but some perplexities: Casato, Annamaria Cammilli, Leo Pizzo, Yoko London, Giovanni Ferraris, Djoula, Facet, Crivelli
No comment: Coronet, Sutra, Butani

Tamara Comolli is getting ready to conquer Italy

/

Tamara Comolli, a brand from Munich, ready to open the first store in Italy. And not only … ♦ ︎
She is blonde, sensitive, delicate. But do not be fooled by the appearance: Tamara Comolli has a Teutonic ability to achieve her goals. The designer from Munich with the name of Lombard, in fact, plans the opening of the first mono-brand boutique in Italy at the beginning of the summer of 2018. The move will mark the beginning of the path that the brand is planning in Italy. The descent from the Brenner Pass already started in 2017 with the entry into a strategic sales point, Pisa Orologeria, in Milan, a very well known and prestigious brand in the city.
Tamara Comolli, after 25 years of activity, is present internationally with a dealer network that has about 120 stores in Europe, East and West, United States and China and with six flagships in the United States, Spain and Germany. And not surprisingly, they are all in the elite vacation spots and close to water, an element loved by Tamara. The goal of the brand is to large itself in Italy by joining at a selection of jeweler store, and the upcoming boutique.
«I was born in Germany, grew up in Spain and have always been in love with Italy, its colors and its perfumes. Life has brought me to know this wonderful country with which I continue to have a deep relationship that starts from my name up to the craftsmen who now produce my lines», explains Tamara Comolli. «Italy is a country of enthusiasts and admirers of beauty, art and jewelery. This is why I think it is important for us to invest resources and energy dedicated to bringing my philosophy of jewelry closer to a public so prepared and eager for new discoveries like the Italian one».

Tamara Comolli in Private

/

The Private Collection of Tamara Comolli with precious stones, can be viewed only by appointment (or on this page) ♦ ︎
The rules, or customs, are made to repeat over time. But also to be transgressed, when this is the case. Everything is how the transgressions succeed: they can be resolved in a banal gesture of rebellion, or in something innovative, which evolves into a new standard, rule, norm, which in turn will sooner or later undergo a revolution. These courses and historical repeating also belong to the world of jewelry. An example is that of Tamara Comolli, a German designer who built an entire company and, above all, a style thanks to the use of colored stones, rigorously cut like an acorn. These elongated cabochons have been used by Tamara Comolli to compose innumerable variations of her collections.

But even for a designer who is attached to a form that becomes iconic, there is a momentum to change or, better, to introduce something new comes. This is the case of the Private Collection. “A special gem requires a special design”, is the premise of the designer from Munich, but with international culture and standing. So instead of acorns with quartz, citrine or turquoise, the jewels of this collection use more precious stones, such as tourmalines, spinels or classic diamonds, and with much more traditional cuts. And the name? Private Collection is called this because it can only be viewed by appointment. Or on these pages of Gioiellis.com, of course. Lavinia Andorno

Tamara Comolli paisley size

Tamara Comolli devotes her India collection to the most loved graphic pattern ♦ ︎
There are women who “forget” to communicate their age. But there are also women who celebrate the anniversaries, such as Tamara Comolli. In 2017 he celebrated her 25th birthday at the Maison’s creative guide bearing her name.
Tamara Comolli has an Italian name, but an international vision. She is a German born, graduated at the Munich Business School, founded her brand in 1992. In Germany, she is the company’s seat and base, but jewels are produced exclusively for her in Milan. The beginning of career in the jewelery world, however, took place in the United States.
With her glance that ignores the borders, it is no surprise that for the winter 2017-2018 Tamara Comolli has presented a line of jewels dedicated to a country like India. The collection, which is called India, is entirely based on the classic paisley design, which originates from the boteh or buta name, a drop-shaped, Persian origin pattern widespread throughout the Indian region. By the way, if its point is down, paisely has the same geographic form similar at India. The collection of Tamara Comolli also uses eco-sustainable materials: besides gold, some jewels are made of ebony or snakewood (Brosimum Guianense), a wood with an appearance that reminiscent of the reptile skin. But jewels are also made of chalcedony, mother of pearl, quartz and some precious stones. Price. from 500 to 4000 euros. Giulia Netrese

51 acorns for Tamara Comolli

The new bracelet of Candy collection of Tamara Comolli. Very precious candies ♦
Who likes candy? To everyone. So the little sweet replaces the traditional cake to celebrate 25 years of Tamara Comolli. Or, rather, for the activity of its brand. The German designer, in fact, created for the anniversary a new edition of bracelet of Candy collection, Mikado Flamenco, added to the other iconic jewels with cut acorn for stones. For the first time the bracelet is available in rose gold. This special edition, however, was limited to just 25 pieces, each marked with a gold chip engraved.
The bracelet, Mikado Flamenco, is made with 51 gems in the shape of acorns, selected choosing from the offer of more than ten different suppliers. The Germanic precision, in this case, results in a very careful selection of stones. Also because it is a piece of jewelry that costs 44,990 euros. The acorn shape, symbol of the Maison, is a kind of exclusive cut introduced by Tamara Comolli.
The jewelry designer, German by birth, she has an international and multicultural vision. And it’s very eclectic: before becoming a designer, she graduated from the Business School of Monaco of Bavaria. She then founded his brand in 1992. But she has established itself in the United States, only to reappear on the European market. Her collections are sold in a more then hundred jewelery stores, and in single-brand boutiques.
