Aysa is quite a fashionable name these years. It is a variation of Aisha, one of the most widespread female names in Arab countries, also because it was the name of the third and youngest wife of the prophet Muhammad. But, curiously, the same word in Hebrew means healer or doctor, while in Japanese it means morning. In any case, now Aysa has an extra meaning, because it is the name of the new collection by Spinelli Kilcollin, a jewelry brand based in Los Angeles, where the pieces are made, but also with shops in New York and London.
The jewels of the Aysa line are made of 18 karat yellow gold or together with white or pink gold. Earrings, necklace and tennis bracelet, also use natural white diamonds. The necklace, for example, is made of 18k yellow, white and rose gold or just solid 18k yellow gold. A safety clasp holds three additional white diamonds for a seamless design, encouraging this piece of jewelry to be worn with confidence.
Spinelli Kilcollin flies to Vega
Astronomy enthusiasts know that Vega is the brightest star in the northern constellation of Lyra. It is located only (so to speak) 25 light years from the Sun, and is one of the brightest stars in the firmament. This is why Vega is often mentioned in science fiction books. And, now, it is also part of the world of jewelry. Spinelli Kilcollin, the brand founded a dozen years ago by Dwyer Kilcollin and Yves Spinelli, dedicates a special jewel to Vega. Their story is anomalous: they entered the jewelry sector without any design experience, with experience in fashion and art behind them, but with a new idea and style. In the center is the multi-band ring, connected with washers.
An example is the Vega ring. The first band is set with brilliant white diamonds, set in a U shape to expose every corner to light. Centered between two bands of shiny metal is the core of Vega: a 3.8mm band of micro pavé diamonds, set in contrasting prongs to create a play of light and shadow. A network of three golden connectors joins the components of the ring.
Spinelli Kilcollin‘s mission: to stay in the center of the circle ♦
Like Barack Obama, Yves Spinelli was born in Honolulu. But he, the son of Italian hairdressers, instead of pursuing a career as a lawyer, and then as a politician, chose the glittering world of precious stones. First, however, his father, Antoine Spinelli, hairstylist, introduced him to the world of fashion. In 1997, in fact, he moved to Los Angeles where he worked in the symbolic luxury boutique Maxfield.
The world of fashion taught Yves Spinelli some precious notions and put him in contact with those who later became his customers. Spinelli Kilcollin, a high-end jewelry company, was founded in 2010 together with the designer Dwyer Kilcollin and has over 50 luxury stores around the world where it sells its collections. The basic idea of Spinelli’s style is quite simple but, at the same time, immediately recognizable. It all revolves around the idea of the circle, which becomes an element that is also capable of uniting. Small rings, the Galaxy rings, in fact, become elements that hold other rings together. In this way the same geometric element is multiplied in two, three or four times. Or the small rings replace the central stone, or connect in a chain with the perfectly round elements. In a circle that never stops.
