Taking a cue from the paved pavement of a city to design jewels is quite unusual. Skagen, however, did it, drawing inspiration from the cobblestones of Copenhagen. A tribute to the roots of the founders of the affordable watch and jewelry brand, Charlotte Jorst, Henrik Jorst and Steen Albrechtslund. The three, however, founded the brand in New York and in 2015 Skagen joined the Texan group Fossil. The design, however, has remained the traditional minimalist one of the Scandinavian countries. Skagen, in fact, is the name of a peninsula in Jutland and the northernmost city in Denmark.

That said, for the fall / winter 2022 Skagen proposes a series of watches and jewelery that uses the road stone pattern to create mother-of-pearl surfaces for a bracelet, two pairs of earrings and a necklace with a pendant. The material used is white mother-of-pearl, applied on gold-colored steel. The line also has a name: Agnethe, a very popular female name in and around Denmark.

The Danish jewelery and watch brand Skagen collaborates with the contemporary fashion brand Baum und Pferdgarten. The result of the collaboration is a limited edition collection of watches and jewelry. The collection was presented at the fashion brand’s show during the recent Copenhagen Fashion Week. The Baum und Pferdgarten x Skagen collection, however, will be made available for sale in early spring 2023.

As big fans of Baum und Pferdgarten we were thrilled when our partners from the Copenhagen Fashion Council put their respective teams in contact for the first time. Their wonderful artistic approach to fashion and solid Danish roots are the perfect complement to Skagen’s functional and timeless design. In the course of our collaboration, we became aware of the harmony present between the values of our brands, including the importance of a design aimed at a purpose. We are delighted to present this collection during the Baum und Pferdgarten show at Copenhagen Fashion Week and to officially launch it in the coming months.

The collection includes watches and jewelry that combine Baum’s eclectic style with Skagen’s Danish design philosophy. The collection consists of five jewels with oversized chain links and intertwined metals on earrings, bracelets, arm bracelets and necklaces, including a gold-colored choker. The characteristic Baum chain pattern is the basis of the inspiration for the details of the links, while the intertwined metal refers to the original concept at the center of the collaboration: time, represented by the watches.

When we started this collaboration, the concept of time was one of the main elements that caught our attention: how we invest our time, when we would like to stop it and what is timeless. So we created jewels that represent timeless sculptures, complete with watches that will make you want to stop time and live in the present.

Kariana, short for Katherine, is a feminine name used in Scandinavian countries, such as Sweden, Norway and Denmark. And Skagen Denmark is, in fact, a low-cost jewelry brand that took its name from the Danish town located in the North Jutland region, north of the island of Vendsyssel-Thy. Danish design is recognized as one of the most innovative and pleasing in the world, and it is no coincidence that numerous jewelery companies have sprung up in Copenhagen and its surroundings.

Skagen, however, has been part of the American group Fossil since 2012, although it has maintained the sober style of its origins. As in the case of the Kariana collection, which includes bracelets, rings, pendants and earrings in stainless steel with gold or silver color and small crystals set. The new Skagen line for spring includes earrings, necklaces and rings in stainless steel in natural or pink PVD color and focuses on a simple design, like the one that distinguishes the Nordic style. Although, to tell the truth, Skagen has been moving from the North Sea sand to that of Texas for a few years now.

Skagen Denmark, in fact, is a brand initially of watches and then also of bijoux of Skagen Designs, a subsidiary of Fossil, a large company that offers jewels at affordable prices, in this case based on Danish design. Since 2015, Skagen’s product lines have included watches, bags and jewelry aimed at the mid-range. The name Skagen is that of a peninsula in Jutland, in the north of Denmark. The company was acquired by Fossil in 2012 for approximately $ 237 million and is managed by Richardson, Texas, United States.

The Skagen springtime

The danish Spring is no different from that of the rest of the world: so Skagen, brand of Scandinavian country, renews its proposal with the arrival of the new season. The collection for Spring 2016 is inspired by Danish artist Olafur Eliasson, with Icelandic origins, combining the sense of color (of North, though) and the natural landscapes.
