Damiani goes shopping with Zimmitti

Damiani acquires the majority of the Bruno Maria Zimmitti jewelry, historic Italian retailer, founded in Syracuse (Italy) in 1858, which distributes high-end watchmaking and jewelry brands within its stores, including Damiani, Salvini, Rolex and Bulgarians. The transaction was supported by the law and tax firm Biscozzi, Nobili and Piazza. Thanks to the bond of trust between the Damiani family and the Zimmitti family, the agreement states that the shareholders of Bruno Maria Zimmitti 1858 will remain operational within the joint venture and Salvatore Zimmitti will be reconfirmed as CEO.

I am proud of this innovative strategic operation: as a result of the complex changes taking place, it will be increasingly difficult for small-medium local businesses to deal with the new economic, financial and social landscape. Being supported by a large group, with an important expertise and vision, financially stable will make us much stronger and more competitive on the market. Having the Damiani family by our side and being able to count on a strong personal relationship that has binded us for decades reassures us and will allow us to better face the new challenges.

The acquisition, adds the Damiani group, is part of a strategic plan aimed at strengthening and expanding Rocca 1794’s leadership on a national and international level. Rocca is the only Italian chain of luxury jewelery and watches present in many shopping streets and in the main cities of Italy and in international airports, with objectives of strong growth, both organic and perimeter, proposing itself as a consolidator in the sector . In Italy, in fact, the industrial fabric is full of small-medium-sized companies that are still owned by the founding families but which, following the economic and cultural changes already underway for years, and now accelerated by the pandemic, must choose the best way to continue being competitive on the market.

We have always valued the Zimmitti family from a human, ethical and entrepreneurial point of view. We are extremely pleased to have finalized this strategic operation which on the one hand will ensure the development of such an important company in our sector and on the other will help strengthen Rocca’s leadership at the national level. Precisely on this governance model we are interested in carrying out similar transactions with other players in the sector. We are confident that these strategic actions will give many small companies the opportunity to face the new changes in the sector thanks to the support of a solid reality like the Damiani Group: highly international and managerialized but which remains human thanks to the direct involvement of our family.

Despite the numerous difficulties that last year affected many companies in the sector, the press release continues, Rocca 1794 has not stopped its plans for expansion and consolidation of its leadership: the luxury chain owned by the Damiani Group has become a category partner of the Rinascente in Milan for the distribution of high-end jewelry and watches, has inaugurated a prestigious boutique in the very central via Nassa in Lugano and in the coming months, the Bologna boutique, a single-brand Rolex boutique in the Galleria, is expected to reopen (after a renovation) Vittorio Emanuele II, in Milan, and a boutique at Milan Linate airport, as well as a series of new openings and acquisitions.

Antonini returns to Syracuse

//

Among Antonini’s new products presented at VicenzaOro January there is also a capsule collection of the Siracusa line

Last year the jewels won an International Palladio Award as Best Italian Brand Collection. So why not propose an encore of the Siracusa collection? This is how Antonini, a Milanese Maison active since 1919, among other innovations of VincenzaOro January decided to propose new pieces of the line dedicated to the Sicilian city, as well country of Archimedes and Euclid. And the collection itself, which is a tribute to the birth of geometry, is expanded with a new look. Sergio Antonini, the creative mind of the jewelery brand, proposes a capsule collection with pieces that set about 160 sapphires in the setting of white gold, which recreate the idea of the Mediterranean sea in front of the city. But the collection also includes double rings with white diamonds and pieces in bright yellow gold, rather large, with thin lines of small diamonds set. The same shape of the ring is also used as a pendant to stop laces, always in yellow gold, that make up a necklace. Lavinia Andorno

Antonini, a wait Extraordinaire

Antonini presented the Syracuse collection at Baselworld (we talked about here). Now this line of jewelry inspired by Archimedes, the mathematician who lived in the Sicilian town, is enriched with a new piece. It is a big sine wave bracelet created exclusively for Luisaviaroma (online sales). The cuff replaces the line of diamonds with rubies, in a limited edition. The polished yellow gold structure is marked by a black rhodium basis on which are embedded 53 stones reddish-purple. It remains intact the philosophy of based collection of circles, ellipses, curves that intersect, in homage to the science of geometry, of which Archimedes was one of the most famous theorists. But it is not the only novelty in the future of the Maison in Milano. Incoming, in fact, there is the collection Extraordinaire, born after the Baselworld fair on Sergio Antonini design: will be presented at the upcoming VicenzaOro September (Hall 6, Stand 121). Antonini, back to the future

Return to gold shiny eighties, which exists alongside that brushed, and very geometric lines Antonini with Syracuse collection (we already talked about here: https://gioiellis.com/antonini-tributo-ad-archimede) it goes on tracing to come back on the road of future. It seems a contradiction, and instead it is a philosophy. It is not even an improvisation: “From the design to mokeup of jewels it was been ten months of hard work” he told to gioiellis.com Sergio Antonini, the Milanese designer of Maison. As we anticipated, here is the variant in white gold with rabbets diamond in different sizes, new rings with brilliant files, and then the rings of different sizes to be worn on the same finger at different heights of the phalanges, long earrings in yellow gold ellipse. Incidentally, the name of the collection, Syracuse, is a tribute to Archimedes, that of geometric lines he meant a lot too. This is not, however, the only novelty of the brand with headquarters in the Palazzo Borromeo. We will show it soon.

Antonini, a tribute to Archimedes

A small preview of the new collection that Antonini will present at Baselworld 2016. It’s named Syracuse. A tribute to the Sicilian town? Not exactly: it is a dedication to the father of geometry, Archimedes, who lived in Syracuse and in this old town developed those theorems that still bear his name and are used. The brilliant scientist and mathematician, also specializes in optics and mechanics, has allowed, after all, also the realization of the jewels such as those presenting Antonini: circles, ellipses, curves that intersect forming crosses and orbits. Fortunately for wear the jewels you are not required to geometry exam: you can simply admire the soft golden straight evolutions dotted with diamonds. The collection includes a cuff, but also rings of different sizes that can be combined together on the same finger at different heights of the phalanges, thanks to the larger diameter and narrower. Gold can be yellow or white, even with a fully pavé version. You can say: thank Archimedes. Matilde de Bounvilles
