The new Mattioli Puzzle

An easy puzzle to solve. The Mattioli puzzle collection was born as an experiment, proposing modular jewels, precious but with the possibility of choosing from a wide range of shopping, elegant, but also suitable for young people, luxurious enough to be exhibited in a gala evening, but also so informal that it goes with a t-shirt and a pair of jeans. How to reconcile all this? It is a puzzle, in fact, as the name Puzzle of the collection suggests. Which, in fact, has small tiles that recall the elements that make up a puzzle. But, contrary to what one might have imagined, the puzzle was solved quickly: the pieces of the Puzzle were multiplied in a flurry of proposals that made the choice easier.

In short, there are elements in simple mother of pearl or covered with diamonds, in gold and enamel or on a reduced scale. Year after year, Mattioli adds other variations on the theme, to broaden the offer and complete the overall picture. The latest arrivals are Puzzle Matelassè, which features a process with the classic convexities with onyx, sea water and pink quartzite, and Puzzle Perline which uses white or black agate, with turquoise, golden obsidian or malachite and pink quartzite.

The infinite Puzzle of Mattioli

It is the only Puzzle that will never be completed: the collection by Mattioli, a Turin-based brand specializing in jewelery with a strong personality, is one of the proposals that have experienced the greatest success. And that, periodically, are enriched with new pieces or, better, tiles, given that the name of the collection refers to table puzzles. Now the Puzzle Safari line is enriched with three new colors (pink nail polish, light blue nail polish and green nail polish).

One of the reasons that made Puzzle successful is that the elements, like those of the earrings, are interchangeable. Puzzle tiles can be easily replaced to match the earrings with the dress or simply because you like it. The jewels are sold together with a box that contains at least three spare parts, for example, with a mother of pearl version. But boxes with a dozen different spare parts are also on sale. Same goes for necklaces, for which the elements of the Puzzle collection become pendants. Finally, to remember that the jewels of this line are offered in three sizes: small, medium and large, obviously with different prices. For example, a box with 11 different spare parts for medium-sized earrings currently costs around 2,2500 euros.

The real puzzle is to guess when the Mattioli Puzzle will be finished. The collection, which takes its name from the concept of small pieces that make up the jewels, continues to accumulate pieces. Every year, in short, Mattioli adds other pieces that are added, like a puzzle that changes in size and that originally was dedicated to three artists such as Kandinsky, Mondrian and Calder.
In addition to the mother-of-pearl and wood colored on rose gold, small diamonds were added in 2018 that follow the profile of the claws that immobilize the puzzle-piece, or the outer circle of the ring that circles around the fingers. The same elements are used to connect the rose gold ovals that make up the chains of the necklaces. Four different colors are used: bright pink, turquoise blue, black and the classic white mother of pearl. Without forgetting that one of the peculiarities of the collection is the possibility for some jewels to change the card and, therefore, to match the best color to one’s dress. It’s a solution. Puzzle, the classic collection by Mattioli, is expanding with gold elements and pink diamonds, and other motherpearl shades.
Some collections are successful. For this reason jewelers who have success with successful collections increase the number of variations around a stylistic key. This is the case of Mattioli with Puzzle Collection. The Turin-based brand that loves to inspire its production to the works of famous artists, in this case chose as tutelary deities Kandinsky, Mondrian and Calder. Genes of abstract art, creators of works that have underlying small geometric signs reproduced and combined. Puzzle is played around small tiles with rounded corners, which are used for earrings, rings, and so on. The pride of the collection are pieces like the necklace 7 ways that binds to the armband to become long necklace and be worn up to seven different ways: live chains, sound, that the woman uses and reinvented in so many ways. New entry in the collection of Puzzle by Mattioli.
The Turin-based Mattioli, in the sixties has launched a series of jewelry that a couple of years ago were be resumed and proposed (we talked about here). The Puzzle Collection is proposed now at VicenzaOro September with the same geometric pattern for the rings. The jewelry line has as a characteristic the ability to add and remove colors, as in an abstract painting: you can buy a whole palette and change the hue in earrings and pendants. More than a puzzle, in fact, the line was inspired by artists such as Kandinsky, Mondrian and Calder, champions of abstract art. But even if you are not masters of painting, you can combine at will small pieces trapezoidal with rounded corners that make up the collection, made with colorful mother pearl and wood. Versatility is the main feature: the necklace 7 ways binds to the armband to become long necklace and be worn up to seven different ways. Maybe do you want to do (or make to yourself) a gift. For example, a pair of earrings. Ok, but what color? Best to go on the classic yellow gold? Or choose a shade that goes with a particular dress? Yeah, but in this way then the earrings will stand not well with others … A question that Mattioli decided to overcome thanks to Kandinsky, Mondrian and Calder. Are the three artists, masters of abstract art, the inspirers of Puzzle collection. The idea is great fun: combine a pair of earrings, ring, bracelet or necklace with a whole palette of colors with which to transform the jewels. Wood and mother of pearl colored are the components of this gem composed of many elements that can be worn alone, or applied on a bracelet or necklace. There is also a version with paved white diamonds, or a gold version with small dangling earrings, as entry level. The design of the jewels of the collection is a reinterpretation of the historic line of jewelry designed in the sixties. An updated version of 2014 is on display at the Museum of Vicenza jewelery.
