The luminous lines of Marie Mas

//

Wearing the light: basically this is what we talk about when it comes to jewelry. And it is also the idea of Marie Mas, a Paris Maison founded by Marie Cabirou. The new Marie Mas collection is called Luminous Line and is inspired by the rays of light that caress the skin. They are luminous arrows that the artistic creator, an innovative woman who amazed with her jewels with moving stones, interprets with soft lines, because light, like jewels, adapts to the silhouette of the body.

For this High Jewelery collection, I imagined some surreal lines that I could draw on the body with the jewels, guiding them along a path. I used the soft and elastic parts to highlight the sensuality, while the stiffness brings out the salts and hollows of the body. And of course the effect that the magic seems to hold back is a personal delight of mine! The use of diamonds is a deliberate choice, as they are the brightest and brightest stones and can perfectly capture sunlight.
Marie Cabirou, founder and creative director of Marie Mas

The collection includes two models of necklaces, four types of pierced earrings, an ear jewel, a bracelet and a ring. The jewels are made of 18K rose gold, with ethically extracted natural diamonds. Luminous Line features variations of the pieces of full diamonds, half diamond and full gold and adjustable clasps: as in the other collections of Marie Cabirou.

New boutique for Marie Mas

Marie Mas, a jewelry brand founded and directed by Marie Cabirou, has moved to Paris. The new boutique is located at 41 Rue de Richelieu, in the center, 1st arrondissement, not far from the Louvre. The showroom was designed by the designer Morgane Fraga, a graduate of the prestigious Duperré Parisian school. Every detail has been designed to be consistent with the brand’s DNA, with soft colors and curved shapes, to create a welcoming atmosphere.

Marie Mas, a dip on vacation

Jewelry on vacation. Indeed, with the thought of the places to visit, seas and cities, and not just in summer. Maison Marie Mas has decided to combine the favorite locations of the designer and founder, Marie Cabirou, with jewelry. The result is the Summer Splash collection, which aims to evoke those places. The chosen destinations are three: Morocco, Greece and the Netherlands. The drop shape also returns in the necklaces, used by the jewels that are among the most requested of the Parisian Maison from the necklaces of the Summer Swinging Stones collection, but with new color ideas.

Carnelian paired with mother-of-pearl on 18-karat yellow gold, for example, are inspired by the sunsets in the Moroccan deserts. The blue of lapis lazuli and turquoise on 18-karat white gold, on the other hand, bring to mind the architecture of Santorini, Greece. And the delicate shades of 18-karat rose gold, pink opal and white mother-of-pearl are inspired by the Dutch tulip garments.

Marie Mas unisex wedding rings with U&I

/

Marie Mas Paris is an innovative jewelry brand, which has focused on a kinetic style. Her jewels, in fact, have moving parts and make the object also a game. But now Marie Mas changes the game and presents a collection of unisex wedding rings. The collection is called U & I and was designed, like the others, by the founder of the Maison, Marie Cabirou. The game this time is all about the composition of the rings, which provide dynamic combinations of white gold, pink gold and yellow, in the glossy and matte finish. Not only that: to increase the number of variations, green, white or gray lacquer is also used.

Over the years I have truly felt the magic of working with bespoke clients pieces to celebrate their collaboration and mutual love. It is so important moment in a couple’s life, so I’ve decided it’s time to create a permanent line of wedding bands, in a gender neutral design. When the U and I rings are combined together, they form a We ring, which for me symbolizes the two people, who become one in their union to celebrate love for each other.
Marie Cabirou, founder and creative director of Marie Mas

The collection features a simple I band created in nine color and texture variations (glossy, matt, lacquered) and a double U-shaped band (in three colors of gold). Each band it can be worn alone or in combination in a «We» ring. In all, the choice is between 12 styles and 27 possible combinations.

Double-sided for Marie Mas

//

Marie Mas, brand of the Parisian designer Marie Cabirou, who loves to move her jewels (as we have explained here), offers her Summer Swinging Stones. They are jewels with a double-sided design, with mother of pearl on one side and semi-precious stones like malachite on the other. Beyond the romantic associations of inspiration with the summer (walks in the twilight by the sea, quiet evenings in the lightness of the breeze, travel) the collection does not renounce the playful aspect that characterizes the brand, which uses patented techniques to add mobility to jewelry.

There are, for example, reversible drop-shaped earrings in 18-carat pink gold, which have green malachite on one side and white mother-of-pearl on the other. The necklace too can be worn showing the malachite (green) side or the mother of pearl (white) side. The collection includes 16 pieces (necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings) made of 18-carat pink gold. Bracelets and necklaces can be stacked together to create a more playful design and have adjustable closures.

Marie Mas’s new mobile jewels

//

The number of mobile jewels of Marie Mas, the brand of the Parisian designer Marie Cabirou, becomes bigger. The Wave collection, which we anticipated here, added other pieces to those presented on the occasion of VicenzaOro September.

Orecchini Imperial Wave
Orecchini Imperial Wave

The Wave collection is characterized by a sinuous movement of the jewels, which announces mobile elements, ready to follow the curvature of the wearer’s body. The jewels are made of 18 carat pink and white gold.

I chose to work with rainbow moonstones in the Wave Collection to translate the magic of the sea and the shimmer of light dancing on the waves: when the sunlight slides to the surface, the water seems to change color. The dramatic and mysterious chromatic play is captured through the fluttering splendor of the rainbow moonstones as they move. These exquisite gems can be transparent or shine in abandonment. Due to their inner splendor known as flattering, the stones have a naturally seductive blue fire, which makes them very unique and a joy to work with.

The French designer’s jewels combine aesthetic pleasure with playful pleasure: they invite you to play with the jewels and, at the same time, offer an aesthetic in symbiosis with the curved lines of the body. After studying at the prestigious École Duperré (art, design and fashion college) and IFM (French fashion institute) in Paris, Marie learned jewelry design by helping Florence Croisier and Shourouk. In 2012 she entered the Christian Dior Couture Maison with Raf Simons, where she honed her skills in designing jewelry. After three years, Marie decided to launch her high fashion and high fashion jewelry line which she named Marie Mas, in homage to her maternal grandmother, Henriette Mas, who influenced her taste for femininity, beauty and creation.

Marie Mas’s movable rings

The rings that form waves of diamonds following the shape of the finger that wears it: these are the new jewels by Marie Mas ♦ ︎

Marie Cabirou is certainly the most dynamic jewelry designer. The founder of the Parisian Maison Marie Mas, in fact, chose the difficult but gratifying road of jewelery with mobile elements. Pendants, rings, bracelets and earrings that are the fruit of his creativity, in fact, are conceived with the idea that a jewel is also something to play with, that fits following the movements of the wearer and can even change shape.

Read also: Marie Mas also moves the diamonds

In the VicenzaOro Design Room Marie Mas presented a capsule collection of rings, including Ripple Ring, Queen Wave Ring and King Wave Ring, in rose gold and diamonds. The rings conceal a secret: the pavé of diamonds that covers the pink gold rises when the jewel is worn. The moving parts, like small precious bars, thus form a new surface with a curve that is that of the phalanx of the finger that wears the ring. This aspect allows the jewel to adapt to the circumference and shape of the hand, but also to play with the surface and movement of the stones when changing position to the ring. Thus some diamonds are formed that move when the ring is removed or worn.

The new Wave collection continues on this path. Marie considers it both harmonious and deceptively simple, with pieces using rainbow moonstones: they will be presented between the Paris fashion week at the end of September and the haute couture week in January 2020, which marks the third anniversary of the birth of Marie Mas.

The 12 jewelers which will be in the Design Room at VicenzaOro September. Among the new entries Tomasz Donocik and Yeprem. Stephen Webster is also coming ♦ ︎

Ieg, the company that organizes VicenzaOro, has observed the lesson of Baselworld: communicating and avoiding a precipitous decline. Right, then, that promotes itself well in advance and proves to be alive and well. Indeed, with interesting news. For example, those concerning the Design Room, the space dedicated to fanciful and deserving jewelers’ boutiques. A formula which, among other things, it has been replicated in other exhibitions.

Here, then, the first novelties of VicenzaOro September, which this year is anticipated from 7 to 11 September. The Design Room, located inside the Icon pavilion, will complement some of the most important international innovations with appearances now consolidated in Vicenzaoro such as Marie Mas, Lydia Courteille and Alessio Boschi. Among these, also Tomasz Donocik, a Polish designer who lives and works in London, already named Jeweler of the year in the United Kingdom: we have written about him other times on gioiellis.com. Stylistically very contemporary, with a language that speaks to a sophisticated and mature public, he works in an artisanal way, exclusively in 18-carat gold, pink or white, use the best precious stones and has succeeded over time to innovate while respecting the harmony of forms.
Alessio Boschi

Also Yeprem, a Lebanese designer famous for his diamond creations, and the Greek Lefteris Margaritis will also be present in the Design Room. Sicis, Mattia Cielo and Alessa Jewelry are also back. Finally, the presences of Eclats Jewelry, Cedille Paris and Netali Nissim are planned, with its iconic collection of prêt-à-porter talismans.

Marie Mas also swing also the diamonds

//

In the new collection, the kinetic jewels of Marie Mas now also move the diamonds ♦ ︎

Jewels are living objects, which become part of the wearer. But those of the designer Marie Cabirou are even more alive. They move, in fact. The Maison Marie Mas has just launched the reinterpretation of the Swinging Stones collection. And after the color stones debut now the kinetic jewels move the diamonds. The silhouette of stones mounted on reversible frames remains, but includes diamonds juxtaposed to tourmalines. The collection is inspired by biomimétisme, the mysteries of the underwater world and the elements in nature.

They are unique pieces, made with ingenious patented mechanisms: 13 pieces (six rings and six earrings) set in 18-carat rose gold.

“I’m looking for movement, poetry in the complexity of the mechanism, and I love to bring a touch of magic to my jewels, blend it with a playful touch My jewels come to life when they are worn and that’s why I want to take you on a delightful trip,” he says Marie. “I started playing with the idea of using diamonds in my design for a while and I was eternally drawn to the timeless beauty and elegance of these stones.” The new line of jewelry is a bit detached from the pastel-colored jewels in shades of pink and blue.

In 12 in the Design Room

Here are the 12 creators present in the Design Room at VicenzaOro January 2019 ♦ ︎

VicenzaOro warms the engines and anticipates the names of the 12 creatives who will be in the Design Room in January. The Design Room, introduced a couple of years ago by the previous management of the event, is a space dedicated to niche brands, and of high value. Young designers, but also established names in the jewelry scene, but always with strong creative skills.

So here are the 12 designers of VicenzaOro January: Alessio Boschi, Alessa Jewelry, Anna Maccieri Rossi, Bee Goddess, Cedille, Lydia Courteille, Eclats Jewels, Mattia Cielo, Magerit, Marie Mas, Monica Rich Kosann, Sicis.

Some, like Alessio Boschi, Alessa or Magerit, have already been present at the Design Room of VicenzaOro, while others are making their debut. For Mattia Cielo, for example, it is a return to VicenzaOro after many seasons of Baselworld, while for the micromosaics of Sicis it is an absolute first.
The characteristics of the designers are also very different: Alessio Boschi or Lydia Courteille are part of the world of high jewelery, even if with creative features that make them unique. Bee Goddess or Anna Maccieri Rossi proposes, instead, an original fine jewelry, Magerit prefers a late baroque sculptural style, Monica Rich Kosann is a brand of fine jewelry of wide consumption, Cedille puts the accent on an ethnic style, and Mattia Cielo on a technological design.

Marie Mas’s magics

Marie Mas’s Spells: After three years from Dior, the young French designer  Marie Cabirou debuts with her collection ♦

Marie Mas as Hermione Granger? «I am looking for movement, poetry in the mechanism’s complexity. I love to bring a touch of magic to my jewels», she says. But maybe it’s not the same magic touch as the Harry Potter series by this young French designer, a novelty in the jewelery landscape. Marie studied at the prestigious École Duperré (College of Art, Design and Fashion) and Ifm (French Fashion Institute) in Paris. She learned jewelery design by assisting Florence Croisier and Shourouk. In 2012 she joined Christian Dior Couture with Raf Simons. She learned the secrets of high jewelery, and after three years she decided to launch her line, which has her name or rather that of her grandmother who, she explains, has influenced her taste for beauty and creation.
The first collection of Marie Mas uses especially topaz, amethyst and quartz. They are soft colors, with bracelets, earrings, pendants and rings following the movement of the body, with an allusion to the style of the 1920s. Giulia Netrese
