As always, at the Venice Film Festival the “Lion to the Most Beautiful Jewel” prize is not foreseen. But on the red carpet the competition, like at Cannes and at Oscars, isn’t less intense. Actresses and juror members contend the flash of photographers displaying clothes and jewelery designed to remain imprinted in memory. And the jewels of the great jewelery companies are in competition to lend to the stars precious jewelry, possibly, well visible in photographs. Jasmine Trinca, for example, the actress and the only Italian juror in the competition, has chosen Tiffany & Co.’s jewels, as Jennifer Lawrence and Tina Kunakey. Bianca Balti has displayed Chopard’s jewelry as Isabel Goulart, while Claudia Gerini chose Giorgio Visconti’s Italian Maison and Greta Scarano who opted for Crivelli. In Las Vegas is the time of the Jck Show (5-8 June 2017) at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. It is the largest annual event of the jewelery industry in this part of the world and brings together more than 30,000 industry professionals. It involves jewelry companies, watches, precious stones, equipment, supplies, technology, security and business solutions: over 23,000 retailers present and about 9,400 stores. 23% of attendance comes from outside the United States.
VicenzaOro in Las Vegas
Among the protagonists is VicenzaOro, the format of the Italian Exhibition Group (a fair company which is born by the integration between Rimini Fiera and Fiera di Vicenza), which has brought to the city of Nevada famous for its casinos a hundred Italian jewelery companies. Jck, in fact, is an opportunity for the jewelery and luxury industry. The Italian pavilion is located on the noble floor of the event (Shoreline 2). The collection Anima (Soul), is divided into 18 different lines, however, follows the same style: rounded shapes, waves, with gold and diamonds, pavé, stones like emeralds, sapphires and rubies. Inside the Giorgio Visconti collection 2016 there are 18 lines that live its own life, each with its own look and characterization based on rose and white gold and bold curves. Now we add pictures of other four: Intreccio line includes a rose gold ring with three bands with diamonds, a bangle pink gold and diamonds, rose gold earrings three bands and diamonds. Luna line is instead made up of two white gold rings, with simple, sinuous lines, with central diamond and two two bracelets in white gold with the same set. If you are looking for a solitary of character, the one of Icona line by Giorgio Visconti 2015 edition certainly is. It disproves the opinion that this kind of rings stand out only for cut and carats, and that, apart from these basic features of course, now they all resemble one another a bit. In some cases it may be true, but in others it is absolutely the opposite. What does it depend? By a series of technical and stylistic details that give harmony and modernity the whole ring. And we will explain why.

The first detail that catches the eye is the diamond’s mount, shaped like the letter V, solid without being heavy, making it instantly recognizable jeweler’s signature, V as Visconti, precisely. But the yield is almost calligraphic letter to make a difference: in fact, the final part up reminds the V of the Romans, with the triangle that sticks out and fits perfectly with the rod that supports it; It seems trivial, but it is not because it involves great craftsmanship of preparation of the metal. To which are added creative subtleties such as the small diamond placed under the main one, supported only from the bottom of the V, which imposes a millimeter precision in a limited space to prevent the lower point (it is called pavilion) of larger diamond, touches the second stone.

A problem that continues with the diamonds of the stem of the ring, ie the part that surrounds the finger,: placed on upper part and lateral in theory should colliding with each other with the points. One solution could be to use stones much smaller on the lateral, or place them slightly moved forward, in line with the space between a diamond and the other of the upper part. One detail that allows to maintain a good proportion in size between the two rows of diamonds and to emphasize the V and the result is excellent. That’s why it has personality.
