The new bijoux from the Forever collection by Charriol: the classic cable is colored with unusual shades ♦ ︎

Life goes on. The company founded in 1983 by the French entrepreneur Philippe Charriol, who tragically passed away in the spring of 2019, continues to be an independent family business. And, therefore, to propose news. For the summer, here are the new additions to the Forever jewelry collection, featuring the twisted steel cable that is the trademark of the Maison based in Geneva. In this case, the steel cable is highlighted by the two edges of the bracelets, as if it were the thread on a tailor’s spool.

The bracelets are offered in different shapes and sizes: more or less thin, oversized, enriched with a lattice that recalls the grates of the Arab architecture, in many color variations. The material is steel, also in the versions in yellow or pink gold PVD, while the braided cable is also available in bright colors, from violet to blue, fuchsia or acid green. They are considered unisex bijoux, with a price that starts below 100 euros, to go up to over 400.

Twist Ivy bracelets and necklaces by Charriol

The new collection with steel cables, but also topazes and mother of pearl signed by Charriol ♦

It’s called Twist Ivy, and like the ivy these Charriol bracelets wrap themselves around the wrist, but without eliminating the sense of freedom. The collection consists of necklaces, bracelets, rings and bangles, again with the classic steel cable that is the trademark of the Swiss brand. But in addition there are silver, gold, mother-of-pearl or white topazes, which add an extra touch.

Ivy alludes to fidelity and immortality, but also to the bond with nature. The bracelets, without clasps, wrap around the wrist forming a double or triple loop, but leave freedom and comfort. The bracelet, 35 or 52 centimeters long, is decorated with graphic and poetic symbols. In all, 16 different combinations are available, in three-wire steel, bronze or black PVD, with steel decorations with a setting of 15, 20, 36 or 48 white topazes and mother-of-pearl. Or with five-wire steel cable, pink or yellow gold PVD steel decorations. Price: from 220 to 287 euros. Lavinia Andorno

Car crash, Charriol dies

Philippe Charriol dies in a car accident on the Formula 1 track at Le Castellet ♦ ︎

A famous name disappears in the world of jewelry: Philippe Charriol, founder of the Swiss luxury brand Charriol. The cause of death is not a disease, unless you consider a passion for racing to be a disease. Charriol, in fact, died in an accident driving his racing car on the Paul Ricard circuit of Le Castellet, home to the Formula 1 French Grand Prix. Charriol was born in 1942 and founded his Maison in 1983, as a multi-product brand for Swiss watches, jewelery, accessories, perfumes, and even wines. In a short time he built a small empire of luxury.

The idea of founding a brand of jewelry for the entrepreneur came after having worked for 15 years for Cartier, as general manager and president of the brand for the Asian market.

After leaving Cartier, it took seven years to open the first Charriol boutique in Hong Kong in 1990. But then the business took off and the brand opened offices in cities like Singapore, Bangkok, Tokyo, Doha and Riyadh, followed by Geneva, Beijing, Shanghai, Dubai, Mumbai, Las Vegas. Charriol was also a forerunner of online sales: it was the first Swiss watch and jewelery brand to highlight its e-commerce platform in 2008. But alongside the passion for jewelry, the entrepreneur continued to cultivate that for race cars, almost at a professional level. He will be buried in Marseille.
The work in Charriol continues with his sons Coralie (creative director), Alexandre (visual director) and Laetitia, and his wife Marie-Olga Charriol (director of public relations).

New collection of Charriol for Valentine’s Day: dedicated to mad love ♦ ︎

After the bracelets with the inscription Loved, the Swiss brand Charriol still aims at Valentine’s Day 2019 with a new collection: Crazy in Love Again. Luckily it is a positive madness, born under the auspices of Cupid, which in this case is evoked with the symbol of the arrow and the hearts.

Rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings, are made of silver, steel and white topazes.

The style is always the one practiced by Charriol from the Eighties to today: the shape of the steel cable is transformed into unconventional jewelry. The rigid bracelets are therefore characterized by the twisted steel cable, softened by hearts, arrows and white topazes. As an alternative to the cable, the collection also includes a bracelet with a silver chain. Public prices: starting from 110 euros. Lavinia Andorno

Valentine’s Day, the cable by Charriol’s love

//

The proposals for Valentine’s Day by Charriol: bracelets and rings with the word Loved. Images and prices ♦ ︎

Punctuals, in January come the proposals dedicated to Valentine’s Day. For February 14 Charriol offers the pieces of the Forever collection. Protagonist is always the form of the twisted cable of Celtic inspiration, created by Philippe Charriol in 1983. The steel cable is wrapped around a rigid bracelet or a ring, like the thread in the tailor’s spool. The Forever Loved collection consists of rings and rigid bracelets, to be worn two or more together, all adorned with letters juxtaposed to the steel cables.

Rings and bracelets are made of steel, with rose gold PVD versions. Each piece bears the word Loved mounted on the twisted cable.

Some models have a black or blue cable, for a darker style that highlights the writing. Charriol’s models are found in the Celtic Collection and in the patented models with gold and steel cables, a contemporary tribute to Celtic art, an ancient European civilization. Prices: from 251 euros up to 470 euros. Lavinia Andorno

The dazzling time of Charriol

//

From Charriol a jewel of timepiece based on white gold and diamonds. Without forgetting the classic steel cables ♦ ︎
The watches-jewels are rather jewelry-watches: precious bracelets in which, among other things, a dial appears that marks the hours. Because, let’s face it, a bracelet with timepiece does not need to count the minutes that pass. This is why jewelry houses often offer bracelets that are more of an ornament than a practical tool. As in the case of Charriol, a Swiss brand famous for its jewels made from a shape that resembles that of industrial steel cables, naturally also using metals and precious stones. One of the most successful lines of the Maison de Genève is called St-Tropez. On the occasion of Baselworld (22-27 March 2018) Charriol presents Invisible, a jewel-watch with a white gold case enriched with 135 white baguette-cut diamonds. The watch uses an exclusive stone embedding technique that makes the frame invisible. The diamonds are placed next to each other so as to hide the gold meshes on which they are embedded, so as to create a seemingly compact surface of brilliant gems. The diamond circle encloses a white mother-of-pearl dial with 12 princess-cut white diamonds placed in place of the hour numbers. The bracelet is not lacking the classic twisted steel cables of Charriol, but next to a bracelet with diamonds. Rudy Serra

Colored cables for Charriol

The new collection of Charriol, Forever, with classic cables that are brightly colored ♦ ︎
Charriol is a brand of jewels and watches in Geneva. What distinguishes it from other brands, however, is its choice to combine luxury with unusual industrial aesthetics. Charriol, in fact, has become famous for transforming steel cables into jewelery. Or, better, for using the shape of the cable to make bracelets, necklaces, and even rings.
It now adds to its carnet the Forever collection, always with the look of the jewelery that made him famous since 1983, when Philippe Charriol left its work as Cartier’s executive director to founds his company. The collection reinterprets the shape of the cable by matching it to bracelets, pendants and rings, but with the addition of bright colors: blue, pink, lemon, in addition to white, yellow or pink gold inserts. The idea is that of a refined collection, but of the pop soul. Giulia Netrese

Charriol in goal with Alexandra Rosenfeld

The jewels (and watches) Signed Charriol have a date of birth: 1983, when Philippe Charriol has left his position as Executive Director of Cartier and founded his own company, which bears his name. Describe him as a man of the Renaissance, with its advantages and perhaps with its excesses: ambitious, confident, defiant by nature and connoisseur of fine art and motor racing. Born in Marseille, Charriol has chose as headquarters Geneva. It is a well-known brand in the segment of watches, but has long since extended the activities, among other things, also to jewelery, with a series of pieces with cable shape. That is, made with twisted and coiled wire, just like the big metal cables. So watch and jewelry have been joined and now they are presented together, as complementary items. The brand has now decided to entrust the French model Alexandra Rosenfeld, the role of ambassador in Europe. She was Miss France and Miss Europe 2006. Alexandra is known to men not only for its beauty, but also for another aspect: is the wife (and mother of a child of five years) of the most famous Italian rugby player, Sergio Parisse.
