The jewels inspired by the sea: perfect to be worn in August, but even better in the other months of the year ♦

The month of August, in the northern hemisphere (ie the one that goes from the North Pole to the equator), coincides with the hottest month, often destined for all or part to holidays. Every year the nostalgia of the sea, of the white Mediterranean houses, of the scents that only summer can bring, is accompanied by the rediscovery of a now classic collection by Chantecler, Enchanté. The Maison born in Capri years ago proposed an original series of jewels that are inspired by the irregular shape of the small stones used to pave a small road carved into the rock of the small island, which connects the Marina Piccola harbor. Stones that have a variable perimeter, but that manage to fit together next to each other, in an essential mosaic.

Rings and sautoir that use the refined have the classic colours of Capri. The Chérie collection by Chantecler has been enriched with new creations, with micro sautoir in pearls, onyx, red coral, white coral and turquoise. La Maison di Capri, an isle in front of Naples, emphasizes that only perfect, uniformly colored spheres have been used. The rings are in gold, with white, green, pink, black and turquoise sky circles.

The sautoir in white alludes to the lime-colored and white houses and the linen fabric under the sun of the Neapolitan island.

Once the paillettes, used in tailoring, were small discs of colored plastic material, capable of throwing reflections, applied on clothes. From a couple of years, however, Paillettes is also the name of a collection of Chantecler, a historic brand that feels the island of Capri, in the Mediterranean, as its base, but also as its style. The Dolce Vita of the Fifties and Sixties is a myth that has been transformed, for Chantecler, into the famous bells. But not only: the Paillettes collection is just one of those lines of jewelry that maintains the joy associated with the way of life caprese, but in a new way. Last fall Chantecler renewed the collection with new jewels.

Rings, necklaces and earrings are made in gold with white, green, pink, black and turquoise sky circles, with the addition of some diamond pavé.

But a characteristic of the collection is the tremblant setting. The sequins or, better, the individual circles, can show small oscillations that add movement to the jewel and therefore cause more attention. The color of the circles is made with the cathedral enamel technique, the same used in the Art Nouveau jewels. The necklaces can also be transformed into multicolored bracelets, in chokers.

VicenzaOro January it’s back (Friday 18 – Wednesday 23). For the main italian fair dedicated to jewelry is, this time, the first appointment completely organized by the new management of Italian Exhibition Group, that is without the presence of former manager Corrado Facco and former vice president Matteo Marzotto. Not only that: it will also be the first time, after 25 years, without an important exhibitor like Pasquale Bruni, but with the presence of new brands and some returns, like Chantecler. But this does not changes the importance of the appointment, a firm reference point for the gold industry and for jewelry lovers. Easy to summarize the official data of VicenzaOro January.

More than 59,000 square meters gross of spaces set up, 36,000 expected visitors, including international buyers, producers and designers from more than 130 countries: 60% of visitors come from abroad.

Pantone, as every year, has established the color of the year. For 2019 it has the anonymous Pantone abbreviation 16-1546 but, to make the choice a little less anonymous, the company specialized in nuances calls the color as Living Coral.

Chantecler decorates a dress by Antonio Riva with red and orange coral ♦ ︎

For once we give a news that concerns the jewels in half. Because the other half is about clothing. But it is really unusual news. This is a dress decorated with coral by the Maison Chantecler. The creation, in fact, was born in the Chantecler boutique in Via Vittorio Emanuele, in Capri, where it is exhibited. The signature of the dress is that of Antonio Riva, while the decoration with the coral is the result of the creativity of Chantecler. The dress also has a name: GLAmour.
Antonio Riva is a designer specializing in wedding dresses and Chantecler is the island’s most famous jeweler, with an image linked to the international jet set. On the dress, the orange and red corals are embroidered on the chiffon. It is a long model in white silk cady with a boat neckline at the front and enriched on the back by a porthole completely decorated by the coral branches of Chantecler characterized by natural shapes. In the year of her 70th birthday, Chantecler was sailed from Capri to land in Las Vegas, although there are not sea over there. The collection is inspired by a romantic rock-dug road linking the old town center with Marina Piccola, in Capri. Those variable-shaped stones have become elements that make up a series of jewels in the Maison, which have as a common element a pavé of white diamonds interrupted by placement of hard stones or coral. A tribute to the island of the Mediterranean that saw the birth of the brand, but also to the enchantment that is felt, more generally, facing the sea and the sun. The colors used in the collection are very strong: from red coral, to turquoise, to black onyx, to the kogolong, a white volcanic stone, glossy like ceramic but durable like marble. Chantecler, born in Capri with Salvatore Aprea and Pietro Capuano, star of the Dolce Vita of the Isola Azzurra, celebrated 70 years with the celebratory collection entitled Anima 70: a tribute to the symbols of the brand, such as Campanella, Gallo, Il Corno and Joyful, which enclose the atmosphere of Capri, and the iconic colors of the maison that uses corals, turquoise, kogolong and onyx. The History
At the end of the 1940s, Pietro Capuano opened a jewelery store in Capri with Salvatore Aprea, a young, very creative island. Chantecler celebrates 70 years with the Anima 70 collection, which contains the symbols of the House.
The 70 years are usually a time of reflection. But can also become an occasion for celebration: Chantecler, jewelery company founded in Capri, between sea and sun, strong colors and celebrity, he thought it was to celebrate the anniversary with something that could make its loyal customers happy. The symbols are those of Campanella, the Rooster, the circular logo, the Horn and Joyful (teardrop-shaped). Everyone has their own story to tell and together enclose the path made by the company. In particular, bracelets and long necklaces collect all the symbols, which are made from materials such as onyx, coral or turquoise, worked carefully and patiently finished.
In this collection-symbol it has also been added others models, as lobe earrings (with a small bell) and circle earrings, and hoop earrings that have dominated the trends of recent seasons . Prices: necklaces and bracelets are a range between 1500 and 2000 euros.
