The new jewels of Caterina Murino

While acting on the stage of the Théâtre de la Madeleine in Paris, where the comedy Le Tourbillon was scheduled, Caterina Mourino did not stop taking care of her second profession: jewelry design. After making her debut in 2017 with a collection centered on coral (we talked about it here) her creative vein has expanded to other forms of jewelry. But without forgetting what was the starting point of her brand Caterina Murino Jewellery: the actress’s collections are always made in her native land, Sardinia.

Jewels, for example, often use the traditional filigree technique, with gold threads intertwined to form the design of necklaces, rings, bracelets or brooches. And next to the coral, the actress-designer has added the traditional ingredients of the jewelry menu: gold, diamonds, semi-precious stones. The Caterina Murino Jewelery brand also supported the Stand Up for African Mothers campaign, which aims to raise funds to train midwives in Africa.

The actress Caterina Murino presents a new collection inspired by the colors of her Sardinia ♦ ︎

From bond girl to jewelry designer, but without forgetting the profession that made her famous: the actress. Caterina Murino, after the debut in the jewelry world, which has had a positive reception, continues on the path of the precious world. The new collection, Mirto, is inspired by his land: Sardinia. But do not think that jewelry is a simple hobby: Caterina Murino has studied gemmology, and in the family has an aunt with a jewelry in Cagliari. She also participated in a trip to Sri Lanka, organized by gemologist Patrick Voillot to see closely the extraction of precious stones.

From Sri Lanka she brought raw sapphires which she mounted with the stones held in gold threads.

The new collection has pieces reminiscent of wild peony, or myrtle, a shrub that gives purple berries also used to make a liqueur. But jewels are also a tribute to traditional Sardinian costumes, such as chokers and filigree work, a tradition of the island.
It should be added that Caterina Murino’s jewels are also intended for the cinema: the actress played a leading role in the new film by David and Raphael Vital-Durand and she also wore her jewels on stage. Giulia Netrese

A coral for Caterina Murino

Jewelery by Caterina Murino, from James Bond to Paris showcases ♦
There is a new jewelery designer. And she miraculously escaped from Spectre, the criminal organization enemy of James Bond. In fact, Caterina Murino, an Italian actress, Sardinian for precision, was the bond girl in 007 Casinò Royale, movie played with Daniel Craig. Since 2004, she lives in Paris. And, aside the art of acting, she rediscovered his passion: jewels. Her collection is called Gemme Bruti and Filigrana, and is exhibited at the Vanier Gallery in Paris from November 24 to December 30. And to say that before he was a successful actress she wanted to do the doctor.
“I am Sardinian, who knows Sardinia knows that it is impossible not to love jewels,” she explained. “I enrolled in a Gemmology school in Paris, where I live. I’ve always been fascinated by the reason why men have come to kill to steal stones from enormous power. Then I realized that each stone has energy from infinite vibrations, it passes through many hands, is extracted, worked, commercialized. My favorite precious stone is definitely the starry sapphire: it was love at first sight after I discovered it in a mine in Sri Lanka. ” In addition to the stones, however, Caterina Murino also have a passion for coral, which reminds her of her land of origin: many of her jewels use the red fruit of the sea.
