Where Yeprem dares

Dare to be Yeprem. The idea of the Lebanese Maison specializing in dizzying diamond jewelry pays tribute to female emancipation with the intention of satisfying pride and shedding light on the women they choose to inspire and empower. This, at least, is the starting point. The arrival one is made up of a series of jewels with unpredictable paths, as if to symbolize the tortuous path that a woman must take to reach the destination.

Whether they are symbols or not, the series of high jewelry called Dare to be Yeprem includes a series of rings-bracelets that follow the shape of the hand, adapting to the volume of the wrist and fingers. They are like diamond tendrils that envelop the body and sparkle with an unprecedented effect, impossible to ignore. The line is completed by Claw (we have already talked about it here): an unprecedented (and a little aggressive) jewel that is worn on the palm of the hand and is admired on the back.

Bakelite jewels are very popular. Bakelite, according to Wikipedia, is a resin obtained from formaldehyde and phenol. This resin is often added to a filler material, such as wood flour, graphite, mica, diatomaceous earth and dyes. In the past it has been used for electrotechnical elements, electrical switches, electricity sockets, pot handles. So what does it have to do with jewelry? Yet Mark Davis‘ Bakelite earrings and bracelets are also sold also for $ 32,000 each.

Better to combine them with simple fabrics, better if they are of a single color, and avoid wearing other jewels with too generous dimensions.

Tiffany gets on the skateboard. Or, better, on that of Supreme, an American clothing and skateboarding brand, which caters to the cultures of lovers of the tablet with wheels, hip hop and youth culture in general. Now Supreme customers can buy Tiffany jewelry in a limited edition and with an offer below demand, to tickle the attention of consumers. On the other hand, the clothing brand had already promoted initiatives with the brands Emilio Pucci, Jean Paul Gaultier and Louis Vuitton.

And, now, Tiffany belongs to the LVMH group. The stores with Supreme products, therefore, lend a hand to t5iffany in its work of re-brandig of Tiffany. Les Georgettes by Altesse bijoux are preparing for the Christmas holidays with new lines of bracelets and rings that add different variations to the idea of customizable ornament. The two names chosen to distinguish the new pieces of the French brand are Astres and Aurore Boréale, or Luminescence and Celeste. They are all astronomical references, which refer to the idea of the stars: a typical element in the winter iconography linked to the Christmas period. These bijoux are also customizable with interchangeable and reversible inserts in leather or colored imitation leather.

Geometric designs run along the surface of the bracelets which are available in two different thicknesses. A novelty is made up, however, of earrings that are available in the line called Celeste. The rings reproduce the classic sweater in a band effect, with evident dimensions. The bracelets and rings also use a tightly woven tubular mesh with clasp.

Picchiotti is one of the great Italian Maison of high jewelery. Founded in 1967 by Giuseppe Picchiotti, it has established itself for the high quality of its jewels and for a recognizable style. The premise simply serves to explain that the high or fine jewelery of the company from Valenza (Italy) has taken on very specific characteristics over the years. Ortaea is a brand founded in London that combines the Latin word Ortus which means origin, new beginnings and ancestry, and the name Gea, the goddess of the Earth and of Creation in Greek mythology. The idea is by Mita Vohra, who launched the jewelry brand in 2016. One of the latest collections is called Jardin and presents jewels with shapes inspired by flowers and plants.

The founder of Ortaea is the director of Sarova Hotels Kenya, and she sits on the boards of various property development companies and is a Trustee of the Sandy Vohra Foundation. And so, she has maintained a special contact with Africa. Also for this reason, perhaps, she has launched new jewels with rubies from Mozambique, Vivid Red or Pigeon: they are less common stones and therefore more expensive. The opposite of the vast majority of websites, which are freeezed with a few images of the best jewels in the catalog, often years old. And this is another idea of the founder of the brand, which had the goal of making the world of fine jewelry more cheerful. She has succeeded.

She surprised everyone at the Couture Design Awards 2019, where she was among the finalists in the Best in Debuting category. The first option is the result of the 297 combinations made possible by the nine motifs offered by the metal: white, pink or yellow gold, simple gold, gold with pavé and titanium (black, graphite, natural). All multiplied by 33 leather bracelets of different colors. And the leather bracelet is interchangeable. Obviously, the characteristic feature of the Messika Move collection is not lacking: the diamond that moves within the jewel and which is at the origin of the name of this line of jewelry designed by Valérie Messika.

The jewels of Wald Berlin, a brand just born, but which has been immediately successful with its bijoux made by women and grandmothers ♦ ︎

Berlin is one of the most dynamic cities in Europe from a couple of decades. After the meeting between East and West Germany, the wind of rebirth has invigorated not only the business, but also culture and design. Thus were born trends and designers who have brought a different contribution, thanks to the international atmosphere that is breathed in the city. One example is the two founders of Wald Berlin, who opened a bijoux boutique. Their proposals, in a short time, were appreciated also outside the German city and now they are also commercialized on platforms like Luisaviaroma.

Behind the Wald Berlin brand are Joyce Binneboese and Dana Roski, a former model and fashion designer.

After starting their work, years ago they also took a rest in which they traveled, for example in Bali, and during the Berlin Fashion Week 2018, on their return, they presented the jewels of the Juicy collection. Their style, in fact, is a mix that reflects their experiences and cultures encountered around the world, from oriental craftsmanship to New York design. The Juicy collection, for example, consists of 19 jewels made of materials including real shells, freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals, silver and gold-plated silver.
