Antonini Extraordinaire

The new unique pieces, presented at Couture, by Antonini ♦ ︎
They are described as jewels of sober design, but the adjective should be removed from Antonini’s pieces. Not sober, it’s just design. Better, those of Antonini are jewels with a design rooted in the tradition of the homeland of Italian style, Milan. Modern, essential, futuristic, yes. Certainly not with Renaissance neo-embroideries, neo-baroque frills or neo nordic imitations of other brands. Having said this, it must be added that it is precisely for her design made in Milan that Antonini is appreciated abroad. Here are some examples of the work of designer Sergio Antonini: the unique pieces presented by the brand at Las Vegas Couture, made of gold, sapphires, emeralds, diamonds and pearls.
Extraordinaire is the line of Antonini’s haute couture jewelery: a line of unique pieces that each year is enriched with new small masterpieces designed for those who want a product that is out of the ordinary. Numerous and certified creations, drawn from valuable gems for quality, color and purity, personally chosen by Sergio Antonini. For each stone an ad hoc design that enhances its beauty and light: embedded in white gold and diamonds, emeralds, sapphires are born thanks to contemporary cut frames that enhance their colors and shapes.

Antonini on the Atolli

Antonini and Atolli collection: gold, white diamonds and gold jewels with circular shape ♦
Antonini on the atolls, but without going on vacation. Indeed, to achieve his Atolli collection, the designer Sergio Antonini is committed to introduce a new material, jett. It is a very not very used material, but with its own charm: it is, in fact, a black fossil stone. He had a moment of glory during the Victorian era in England as an ornamental stone or to obtain black pearls. It becomes brilliant if it is polished, but in this case it is also proposed with a matte finish.
Obviously the jett (with two ‘t’) is not the only factor, but coexists with the traditional materials used by the Milanese Maison: gold and diamonds, whites o blacks. The Atolli collection, as it is easy to understand, has circular shapes, ring, curves. The beaches in this case, are in gold, set with small white diamonds, while the center of the atoll is the black jet. Alternatively, it is paved in diamonds, always white. On the inside surface of the jewelry is the house brand, with burnished letters for better readability. Giulia Netrese

Palladio awards to Koulis, Mennella and Antonini

At Palladio Awards, win prizes the creatives Nikos Koulis, Faraone Mennella and Antonini.
Call them the Oscar of jewelry. Definition easy to understand, but inappropriate. If only because Italy has a tradition in the jewelry that has nothing to envy to that of other countries. In addition, between Palladio and the prizes reserved to the big of cinema there is a big distance, even as history and culture. That said, here are the winners of 2017 (the fifth) of Palladio awards, assigned in Vicenza to the jewelry world. Which then, as commented in the stands VicenzaOro a designer who prefers to remain anonymous, is fair to put together in competition giants as Cartier and Boucheron, which have large capital to invest with small Italian companies, it is another matter.
The winners of this fifth edition, divided by category, are :
The best italian jewelery designer: Faraone Mennella.
The best international jewelery designers: Nikos Koulis.
The best italian jewelery brand collection: Antonini Milan to Syracuse collection.
The best international jewelery brand collection: Boucheron for Animaux de collection collection.
The best jewelery flagship store: Nirav Modi for the New York store.
The best jewelery communication campaign: the campaign for Cartier Diamonds.
Jewellery corporate social responsibility award: chopard for the commitment to the project with eco-age.
The best jewelery communication: new media at Nervous System
The lifetime achievement award: Franco Cologni, president Cologni Foundation for arts and crafts.
In the night that has proclamed the winners, and simultaneously kicked off in VicenzaOro January, there were the president of the Italian Exhibition Group, Lorenzo Cagnoni, the vice president Matteo Marzotto, and the general manager, Corrado Facco. The jury was composed by Franco Cologni, President of Jury and Chairman Cologni Foundation for arts and crafts (curiously the same that received the lifetime achievement award), Clare Phillips, curator of the Sculpture Department of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, Alba Cappellieri, a professor of Jewellery Design at the Politecnico di Milano, Silvana Annichiarico, director of the Triennale Design Museum in Milan.

Antonini white version

Antonini in white with a ring to remain still Extraordinaire.
Here is the image of the new single piece of Antonini Extraordinaire collection, which was presented to VicenzaOro. It is a ring made of natural white gold, with white diamonds (totaling 1.97 carats) round and rosette cut The ring is added to the collection Mosaici presented a year ago and that includes jewelery in diamonds and natural sapphires of different colors. Its peculiarity is the different diamonds, rosette and round cut, and of different sizes: this incoherence creates a concave surface with a thousand facets that absorb and reflect around the large central rosette a diamond never the same light. The name of the line of these jewels, which also includes a pendant, is indicative: they are creations not duplicated, numbered, certified, personally designed by Sergio Antonini. The price of this ring is 18,000 euro.

Antonini, a wait Extraordinaire

Antonini presented the Syracuse collection at Baselworld (we talked about here). Now this line of jewelry inspired by Archimedes, the mathematician who lived in the Sicilian town, is enriched with a new piece. It is a big sine wave bracelet created exclusively for Luisaviaroma (online sales). The cuff replaces the line of diamonds with rubies, in a limited edition. The polished yellow gold structure is marked by a black rhodium basis on which are embedded 53 stones reddish-purple. It remains intact the philosophy of based collection of circles, ellipses, curves that intersect, in homage to the science of geometry, of which Archimedes was one of the most famous theorists. But it is not the only novelty in the future of the Maison in Milano. Incoming, in fact, there is the collection Extraordinaire, born after the Baselworld fair on Sergio Antonini design: will be presented at the upcoming VicenzaOro September (Hall 6, Stand 121). Antonini, back to the future

Return to gold shiny eighties, which exists alongside that brushed, and very geometric lines Antonini with Syracuse collection (we already talked about here: https://gioiellis.com/antonini-tributo-ad-archimede) it goes on tracing to come back on the road of future. It seems a contradiction, and instead it is a philosophy. It is not even an improvisation: “From the design to mokeup of jewels it was been ten months of hard work” he told to gioiellis.com Sergio Antonini, the Milanese designer of Maison. As we anticipated, here is the variant in white gold with rabbets diamond in different sizes, new rings with brilliant files, and then the rings of different sizes to be worn on the same finger at different heights of the phalanges, long earrings in yellow gold ellipse. Incidentally, the name of the collection, Syracuse, is a tribute to Archimedes, that of geometric lines he meant a lot too. This is not, however, the only novelty of the brand with headquarters in the Palazzo Borromeo. We will show it soon.

Jewels of Italy with design

Many jewels and an albino setting: from 2 April to 12 September, in Milan there is to see the exhibition Brilliant! The future of the Italian jewel, organized as part of the XXI International Exhibition of the Milan Triennale, entitled 21st Century. Design After design, which includes 20 exhibitions around the city in six months. In addition to jewelry, in short, there’s plenty of other things to see if you like the design is a chance (we recommend to visit the whole exhibition anyway). The section devoted to jewelry is curated by Alba Cappellieri. The goal is to connect the jewel of art and design, plus the temptations dictated by fashion. Between craft and technology, they are on display Italian jewelry worn by white plaster busts: the set is truly amazing. By the way: we said plaster busts, because the jewels are all of the same type, ie necklaces. There are unique pieces or with a particular interest. An example: Calla, an ebony with three elements in pavé diamonds by Vhernier. It consists of a single element which, repeated, it chases. It’s made in several versions, including a version with all rose gold elements, a kogolong and rose gold, a full pavé diamonds, it has become an icon of the brand. But the represented brands are many, from Bulgari to Crivelli, from Antonini at Pomellato. Monica Battistoni

Antonini, a tribute to Archimedes

A small preview of the new collection that Antonini will present at Baselworld 2016. It’s named Syracuse. A tribute to the Sicilian town? Not exactly: it is a dedication to the father of geometry, Archimedes, who lived in Syracuse and in this old town developed those theorems that still bear his name and are used. The brilliant scientist and mathematician, also specializes in optics and mechanics, has allowed, after all, also the realization of the jewels such as those presenting Antonini: circles, ellipses, curves that intersect forming crosses and orbits. Fortunately for wear the jewels you are not required to geometry exam: you can simply admire the soft golden straight evolutions dotted with diamonds. The collection includes a cuff, but also rings of different sizes that can be combined together on the same finger at different heights of the phalanges, thanks to the larger diameter and narrower. Gold can be yellow or white, even with a fully pavé version. You can say: thank Archimedes. Matilde de Bounvilles

Antonini, Aurea for two

The lovers want novelty and for Valentine’s Day comes from the Milanese fashion house Antonini the Aurea capsule collection. It is a small addition to the collection that was presented in 2013, but has now been expanded with two new pieces, available in two different versions: is set with a pendant and a ring, adapted to the size of the finger, yellow gold and diamonds champagne. The same two pieces are even available in white gold and white diamonds. As for other jewels Antonini, also these are made with a hand working with small hammering on the metal in which they are then embedded one by one the diamonds. It is a value added extra. In the two new elements of the collection this work creates a kind of wrapping tape. Pendant and ring are available at the price of 2,480 and 3,950 euro. The white gold version is available from mid-January. Giulia Netrese

Antonini Matera collection

Antonini chose Matera. To the charming city carved in the rock, next European Capital of Culture (2019), is dedicated to the new line of jewelry of Maison. But, unlike the city-jewel of Basilicata, the jewelery of Antonini don’t need to be further exploited: it’s just their design, together with the care to make it, to make them valuable. The style of the new line is as the capsules Mosaici, and Extraordinaire Collection (https://gioiellis.com/extraordinaire-antonini), with a variant of cocktail ring, gold and stones set in a concave frame, style chevalier. Translated: rings clearly visible and with their originality. The surface of the ring is available in three variants of gold and diamonds engraved with a circle of diamonds, or fully pavé, even in the larger version. But there are also earrings and a pendant, in the same style of the rings. The collection is available with different finishes of gold: yellow polished, satin, gold and natural white. The stones used are white diamonds, cognac or blacks. It is a strange mix of simplicity and, at the same time, wealth. Another step forward in the new life of the historic Milan brand. Extraordinaire Antonini

The Collection Extraordinaire by Antonini is enriched with new creations. The name of the line of these jewels is indicative: the pieces are not duplicated, and are numbered, certified, designed personally by Sergio Antonini. New features include the capsule collection Mosaics, which includes four cocktail ring with diamonds and sapphires and a pendant with a black braided chain. Antonini emphasizes the creative character of the pieces: rings have a concave rose gold surface, matt and polished by hand. Inside this little recess is a diamond champagne pavé, where are placed natural sapphires. The effect is of a bright basin in which float small islands colored. The pendant and a ring are made with the use of sapphires of various sizes blue and blue on a structure in white gold matt natural. The second ring includes intense pink sapphire, the third green and blue sapphires. Then there is the Mosaic Diamonds, a ring with a pavé diamond with 113 silver mist of varying sizes and more 20 largest diamonds rose cut. “For these rings I worked with curved surfaces and a base of cobblestones to emphasize the beauty of pastel-colored sapphires. The result is incredible, their color changes with the different angles of light. I experimented with different finishes of gold, using the rhodium black under the pavé diamonds and gold opaque in its natural color, “says Sergio Antonini. These jewels were presented in preview at the Russian press in early October in the boutique Antonini in Moscow Smolensky Passage. And they are now available to international audiences. M.d.B.

Antonini B&W

Black and white, or better, the gold in its natural shade. Antonini shows at Baselworld Fair its line Black & White. The collection focuses mainly on gold white, left in its natural hue without plating of rhodium. The result are jewelry with soft colors, with shades they accord to the glitter of diamonds. Rings, pendants and earrings have a tapered shape, but above all, it affects the ingenious interweaving of the circular forms: a metal circle contrasted with a pavé of diamond blacks or whites. Antonini remembers this collection some atmospheres of the seventies, but with an injection of technical innovation and more. Here are pictures and prices. Giulia Netrese
