There are refined watches that provide the Day & Night display, so as to immediately distinguish the phases of the day. Anna Maccieri Rossi spent many years dealing with luxury watches, the dark side of the Force (let’s joke) before moving on to jewelry. Perhaps it is the memories of the years behind that inspired the new Night & Day collection, which she presented at the Couture in Las Vegas. It is a line of jewels that keeps intact the style and technique adopted by the designer, who not surprisingly uses details that are part of the watchmaking tradition, starting with the dials.

The Night & Day collection features two different colors, with a preference for blue and light blue to indicate the night, while for the day side the shades become more lively. Reversible jewels that can be worn on one side or the other, in tune with the hours of the day or more simply with your mood. Alongside gold, the designer uses materials such as mother of pearl, turquoise, pink jade, lapis lazuli, aventurine, malachite, tiger’s eye for rings, necklaces, pendants.

It would be easy to say that in the world of jewelry someone wich add a link with that of watchmaking: Anna Maccieri Rossi take care of filling the gap. Her jewels, which debuted in VicenzaOro January in 2019, in fact, have a special link with the theme of time. It is not by chance that Maccieri Rossi worked for luxury brands such as Cartier, Jaeger-Le Coultre, Bulgari, Tiffany & Co, and Ferragamo as senior watch manager and designer. Anna decided to launch her jewelry line in 2018.

And it does not hide that the work in the world of watches continues to provide inspiration. Not only for the technique with which the jewels are made, but also for the ideas behind its collections, always inspired by the theme of time. For example, the Sunset to Sunrise collection features gold jewels with different colored sapphires that symbolically mark the passing of the hours during the day, from sunrise to sunset. The jewels are handmade in Switzerland and Italy. And they have an ambition: to be precious, but also not related to fashions. Timeless, in fact.

Here are the 12 creators present in the Design Room at VicenzaOro January 2019 ♦ ︎

VicenzaOro warms the engines and anticipates the names of the 12 creatives who will be in the Design Room in January. The Design Room, introduced a couple of years ago by the previous management of the event, is a space dedicated to niche brands, and of high value. Young designers, but also established names in the jewelry scene, but always with strong creative skills.

So here are the 12 designers of VicenzaOro January: Alessio Boschi, Alessa Jewelry, Anna Maccieri Rossi, Bee Goddess, Cedille, Lydia Courteille, Eclats Jewels, Mattia Cielo, Magerit, Marie Mas, Monica Rich Kosann, Sicis.

Some, like Alessio Boschi, Alessa or Magerit, have already been present at the Design Room of VicenzaOro, while others are making their debut. For Mattia Cielo, for example, it is a return to VicenzaOro after many seasons of Baselworld, while for the micromosaics of Sicis it is an absolute first.
The characteristics of the designers are also very different: Alessio Boschi or Lydia Courteille are part of the world of high jewelery, even if with creative features that make them unique. Bee Goddess or Anna Maccieri Rossi proposes, instead, an original fine jewelry, Magerit prefers a late baroque sculptural style, Monica Rich Kosann is a brand of fine jewelry of wide consumption, Cedille puts the accent on an ethnic style, and Mattia Cielo on a technological design.
