Combine the two concepts: jewelery and aesthetic sense, and here is the Bella collection by Giovanni Ferraris, seen at Baselworld 2018. The Bella collection is, in fact, beautiful. In Milan the jewels of Faraone Casa d’Aste are back. The sale scheduled for May 14 includes over 300 lots of jewelry and watches of the twentieth century. The one scheduled at the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan is the first of two annual auction events (now a classic), while the second one precedes the Christmas period. The May auction catalog, among other things, marks a growth compared to the previous appointments of Faraone Casa d’Aste: in fact, it exceeds the 240 lots in November and 160 in May 2017.
The most precious pieces
The company, which is the arm specialized in the sales of the historic Faraone jewelry, signals in particular two rings. The first is made of platinum with Kashmir sapphire, one of the rarest gems in the world, with a cushion cut of about 9 carats, surrounded by diamonds. The second ring, on the other hand, has a 13-carat Colombian emerald wrapped in baguette-cut diamonds. Other pieces that may be among the most requested: a platinum pin, punched Monture Cartier, with a 3.10 carat Colombian emerald placed in the middle of a game of platinum bands covered with 8.20 carats of old cut diamonds and baguettes. On sale also a set of Van Cleef & Arpels, consisting of ring and earrings in platinum with 14 carats of brilliant cut diamonds and 15 carats of round rubies, plus a bracelet, also in platinum, with five sapphires for a total of 22 carats surrounded by as many carats of baguette and brilliant diamonds. As for the jewels, there is also a Bulgari punched platinum ring with a central cut diamond of about 3 carats, surrounded by brilliant cut diamonds and baguette with a total weight of about 3 carats, and a Cartier ring with an octagonal fancy yellow diamond weighing 3.09 carats with two lateral triangular diamonds weighing about 1 carat, accompanied by its original case.

Xpandable is one of Picchiotti’s most popular collections. The high-end jewelry Maison in Valenza has in fact thought of combining the concept of luxury with that of comfort: the rings or bracelets of this collection boast not only a great wealth of raw material, that is, the precious stones used, but also the pleasantness of a flexible system that adapts to the finger or the wrist thanks to an invisible elastic system (thanks to a patent). No fear, therefore, that the precious jewel is no longer wearable because of a severe weight loss diet or (more often) of a few pounds that is added over time.
Picchiotti at Baselworld 2018 presented a series of new pieces of great appeal of the series. But now he anticipates another, destined to shine at the next Couture in Las Vegas. It is a ring with seven extraordinary octagonal emeralds in a three-dimensional setting of baguettes and round diamonds. Certainly one of the leading pieces of the Piedmontese company. But also the other rings are not less preciouses. The jewels are conceived with central stones of particular value. Among all, to report a ring with a rare oval sapphire of purple color, not heated, which is also the Pantone Color for 2018. The central stones are then matched to the circle of the ring, covered with diamonds. «For the new generation of Xpandable rings we have created a series with a center of exceptional precious stones, making each ring an exclusive unique piece», is the comment by Giuseppe Picchiotti, founder of the Maison. A woman is free as a butterfly. And the Light Wings collection by Leo Pizzo is inspired by the large light wings of the butterflies. Which has a double objective: that of course, to propose a refined jewel to wear, but also the most symbolic one to sing a hymn to lightness. On the other hand, the art of refinement is light, like the hand of the goldsmiths working for Leo Pizzo. Let’s face it: the jeweler based in Valenza does not make life easy for those who have to compose the Maison’s collections. Between pavé and embroidery, trappings and setting of diamonds, the artisans do not have time to get bored. The result, however, gives merit to their effort.
Light Wings butterflies seem to take flight and the reflections of the golden wings take on colorful shades of yellow, pink and silver when they move. A work of difficult tunnel creates a full and empty effect, giving the jewels a beautiful three-dimensional effect that has always been the trademark of the brand. With this in mind, one of the most attentive Italian Maison dedicated to love and anniversaries, Recarlo, offers two special series of the Anniversary collection. One is called, precisely, Anniversary Puro, while the other Anniversary Platinum. The Maison also states that it’s pure also the diamond used: in particular, the stones mounted on rings and earrings are of IF class, the rarest in the world. But, as anticipated, the Puro line is also distinguished by the 24 carat gold seal that accompanies every jewel.
The Platinum line, instead, as you can easily guess is made with the finest metal, a classic for the rings with diamonds. This type of rings is marked by the Platinum engraving inside the stem, flanked by a small diamond. Obviously smaller than that mounted with four or six claws on the outside of the ring. A picture is worth more than a hundred words and a jewelry parure may be worth more than one hundred collections. As long as it is something perfectly balanced. Because a parure is a set that must play in unison, like an orchestra. Or with that delicate balance that nature is capable of when it shows a flower or a landscape. It is precisely in an open, free space that the parure presented at Baselworld by Pasquale Bruni is inspired. The new set of haute joaillerie is called Flora and Zefiro, from the Atelier Vento collection. That is the Roman goddess of flowering and the wind of mythology: a natural compendium that is made of leaves in white gold and diamonds (the zephyr), which embrace the leaves in rosé gold (the flora).
