Il suo aspetto non è noto ma, secondo Bayco Jewels, azienda newyorkese fondata nel 1982 da Amir Hadjibay, la novità sarà sconvolgente: il giorno di apertura della mostra evento di Basilea sarà rivelata una delle gemme più preziose che sia mai esistita. L’evento avrà luogo nella cabina Bayco, a mezzogiorno in punto. Secondo Moris Hadjibay, co-titolare della società, la gemma-mostro «sarà diversa da qualsiasi cosa nessuno ha mai visto prima. Sarà un grande privilegio essere gli unici a svelare questo dono dalla terra di tale portata per il mondo. È veramente un capolavoro di madre natura». Anche se non ci sono immagini dell’alien, si sa che la gemma ha già ricevuto un attestato da uno degli istituti gemmologici più quotati, il Gem Gübelin Lab, di Lucerna, secondo cui si tratta di una pietra eccezionale. Bayco Jewels LLC of New York has announced that it will be revealing one of the most precious gemstones to ever exist at the opening day of Baselworld. The most important annual event for the watch and jewelry industries will begin on April 25th and continue through May 2nd in Basel, Switzerland. The exclusive unveiling will take place in the Bayco booth, April 25th, 2013, at noon local time (6:00am Eastern time) in Hall 1.1, Stand E09.
The New York based fine jewelry company has chosen not to disclose any information about the piece until the presentation itself. However, Moris Hadjibay, a co-owner of the company discloses the following; “It will be unlike anything anyone has ever seen before. It is our great privilege to be the ones to unveil this gift from the earth of such magnitude for the world to see. This is truly a masterpiece of mother nature.”
