Italian jewelers conquering Hong Kong. Battlefield for 148 precious gladiators: the 30th edition of the Hong Kong International Jewelery Show, an event that brings the excellence of world jewelery to the stage until March 9th: a stage of strategic importance for the entire Asia-Pacific area . The Ice-Agency for the promotion of Italian companies abroad has organized an Italian Collective for the occasion, with the presence of 148 companies, from artisan to industrial ones.
For five days, over 3,200 exhibitors from 49 countries will be protagonists of what is the second largest fair in the world for the jewelery and goldsmith sector, an unmissable showcase visited by international buyers and an exchange platform to keep up to date on the latest trends and the most recent production techniques.
The event takes place annually and is coordinated by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council in collaboration with the major local and Chinese trade associations. The main local distribution channels are represented by wholesalers and retailers who carry out direct import activities, while jewelery shops offering a complete range of jewelery and accessories matching the trends and style of the clothing offered are multiplying in shopping centres. Thanks to the absence of tariffs, restrictions on trade and foreign investments, imports continue to have a growing importance in Hong Kong; in the period January-November 2012, Italy ranked sixth in the ranking of jewelery suppliers, with a market share of 5.1% while China, in first place, holds a share of 42.1% and India, the second supplier country, has a share of 15.4%.
