How Bluespirit shines

Bluespirit Brillo collection: white gold and zircons for a sparkling design ♦ ︎
Christmas is behind the door. That is, it comes before it is expected: every year there are those who are reduced to the last to make purchases. But companies are thinking with other times, especially if it is jewelery. And so, here is a collection designed to tickle the desire of those looking for something to gift for the winter festivals (there is not only Christmas, in fact). To propose the line of jewels is Bluespirit, the brand of the Morellato group that points higher. The collection for the winter 2017-2018 is called Brillo. A name, a guarantee: the modern jewelery design has been designed to provide a shiny effect. Jewelery is made of 18ct white gold with the addition of white zircons (not to be confused with cubic zirconia, which is a synthetic stone). The Brillo collection consists of necklaces and earrings with a circle or drop, and a ring with white zircon pavé. Prices: rings 359 euro, earrings 549 euro, pendant 499-389 euro. Messika with Gigi Hadid

From Messika capsule collection Move Addiction with supermodel Gigi Hadid ♦ ︎
Messika is a jewelery Maison among the most famouses in Paris. Gigi Hadid is a front-page supermodel. Together they sign a collection that is a variation on the classic theme in Messika: jewels with small moving elements. In fact, the collection is called Gigi Hadid Move Addiction and celebrates the tenth birthday of Move’s mother collection, designed by Valerie Messika.
Originally the collection was designed by Valerie in mind the memory of when, as a child, she played with diamonds: her father is a stones merchant. But with time, the collection has evolved, as to the capsules conceived with the model: Gigi Hadid is, of course, portrayed with wearing bracelets, rings and earrings of the new line. As in the now-historical Move collection, the pieces are made of 18 carat gold and diamonds, the home’s specialty. The four basic shapes are varied on the basis of the color of gold and the addition of diamonds, with or without pavé. Jewelery also has a close relationship, with a punk style, as in paper-shaped earrings. Alessia Mongrando

Pearls with surprise by Tasaki

The Japanese pearls of Tasaki with the graft of the Nepalese creativity of Prabang Gurung ♦ ︎
After 63 years (it’s founded on January 10, 1954), Tasaki’s pearl giant will have the creative guide of a Nepalese fashion designer: Prabang Gurung. An unusual fact for a country, Japan, very jealous of its cultural identity, also for jewelery. And even more in a sector, that of pearls, where Tasaki is a flag. It is the only maison in Japan with its own pearl cultivation farm, as well as being famous for its advanced polishing technology for diamonds.
The attention to quality is so high that Tasaki has decided to select its pearls based on six different criteria: the quality of the nacre (the pearl base layer) that gives gloss and color, brilliance (light quality reflected in the interior itself), reflected light from the surface, color, shape, purity (any stains) and size. The result is the first collection signed by Prabang Gurung, who said he was inspired by the surrealism’s artistic movement and Japanese girls Ama, the famouses pearl scuba fishers. Star Wars necklace is back

The necklace worn by Princess Leia’s in Star Wars is 40 years. And is back ♦ ︎
Star Wars in 2017 has reached 40 years. But it does not show them: the saga continues (the new episode is titled The Last Jedi). Perhaps even to celebrate George Lucas’s first film series, Princess Leia’s Necklace has come back to date. For those who want it is still on sale, it’s in silver and costs 2255 euros. You can also buy the earrings and bracelet worn by Carrie Fisher, who disappeared in December 2016.
The Star Wars jewels have a long history. They have been commissioned to Lapland Jewelry by Björn Weckström, Finnish designer and sculptor. The necklace, called Planetoid Valleys and the Darina bracelet, have become the most popular jewelery pieces of the brand.
Everyone started with a call in Weckström in 1976. A collaborator of George Lucas asked the designer new jewelry within six weeks. The choice was not casual: Björn Weckström had already made pieces on the subject of space and science fiction. But the time allowed was shortened to a week and, therefore, a existed jewel of Lapponia Jewelry was used. Since film scenes were shot in studios near London, space jewelery was purchased very simply in Bond Street.
The Planetoid Valley Necklace and Darina Bracelet were worn by Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia as he handed the medals to Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford). Since then, the Space Silver collection, designed in 1969, has become a cult object. Cosimo Muzzano

Six gems with Morellato

Colored cabochon stones with opalescent shades with the Gemma collection. Images and price ♦ ︎
Autumn colors? Pink, Blue, Olive Green… Morellato has decided to color the new season with a new collection, Gemma, which points all about the opalescent nuances of cabochon stones. These are called cat-eye stones, that is chrysoberyl suitably made in different colors pink, blue, black, green, yellow and white. But the use of colored stones is not the only novelty. Another distinctive sign is the use of flexible silver for open bracelets, so that the jewel is easier to push and pull out the hand: after goes back into its original shape. Silver can be in natural, white or golden color with Pvd, that is, with a gold film applied to the metal. The collection also includes a elasticized choker with a central white stone: this necklace, on the other hand, is back in great fashion. The face of the advertising campaign will always be that of Michelle Hunziker. Prices: bracelets 69-79 euro, necklaces 69-99 euro, rings 44-49 euro. Alessia Mongrando

New choker by Pasquale Bruni

Pasquale Bruni on the red carpet of Venice with a new choker ♦ ︎
Pasquale Bruni wins the virtual Golden Lion of Surprise at the Venice Film Festival. The Maison of Valenza played the card of a high class jewelery, entrusted to the three ladies thanksgiving: Marica Pellegrinelli, Stella Maxwell and Sita Abellan. Three different beauties, for different creative proposals. With so many surprises. The model and actress Marica Pellegrinelli, for example, she wore on the red carpet of «Mother!» the earrings from the Vento Atelier collection, made with two sparkling tanzanites wrapped in white diamond leaves and blue pavilion sapphires. Always Pellegrinelli exhibited the ring from the Tramonti Segreti collection presented in Basel. In this case the shape of the leaves used for Giardini Segreti is enriched with the nuance of jewel with tanzaniti that from the blue go to the purple. “In the Giardini Segreti collection, the leaves become fairy-like flowers like butterfly wings, in a continuous metamorphosis of nature on a woman who loves to live her gem”, recites Eugenia Bruni, creative director of the Maison. “A line that celebrates our muse: woman and nature.”
Let’s go back to Venice: the Victoria’s Secret Northern Ireland’s model, Stella Maxwell, has showed up with a new look: the Garland ’90 choker. Pasquale Bruni hits this jewel on white and black, in white gold and onyx, colorless and black diamonds. The choker, coupled with Sissi earrings and Giardini Segreti rings, has long been back in the foreground, and this collar strikes for its simple yet sophisticated elegance.
Another gangway with the Nefertiti Garland, a big impact necklace, worn by Sita Abellan, a deejay and Spanish model. The Pasquale Bruni floral collar, dedicated to the mysterious queen of ancient Egypt, is made of deep blue drops of Topaz London, decorated with white diamond lotus flowers. Next to the collier, really worthy of Nefertiti, there are earcups drop and a ring, whose central gem rests on a lotus flower of diamonds. Finally, Sita Abellan wore Giardini Segreti rings. The Alchimia of Monica Zambenedetti

The subtle architectures of Alchimia, by Monica Zambenedetti ♦ ︎
It is not true that to be creative you should attend the center of London, Paris or New York. Creativity is like a flower which blooming wherever it want, even in a country not far from Varese, a provincial town in the north of Lombardy. In short, out of the usual design routes. Yet Monica Zambenedetti was able to find her way and invent her own stylistic code with Alchimia, which also showed International Jewelery London, the most important fair in the UK capital. Monica Zambenedetti graduated from Ied Milano in Design of Jewel and graduated in Architecture. Between architecture and jewelry has never divorced and maintains a professional engagement in both activities. Certainly Monica Zambenedetti jewelery designer uses the experience of architect Monica Zambenedetti. In a nutshell, it was no coincidence that she called Alchimia her company. The collections show a clear sense of space, volumes, full and empty, straight and curved. The idea, says the designer, is to propose jewelry not only original, but also fun. Also for her, first of all. Giulia Netrese

Praise to the nature of Mikimoto

Nature and sea, here is the high jewelery of Mikimoto ♦ ︎
Praise to Nature: this is the name of the new jewelery necklace of Mikimoto. Great name of Japanese jewelery, Mikimoto has a long history and a long tradition. It was founded in 1893 by Kokichi Mikimoto, who successfully created the method of cultivation pearls. In addition to the pearl manufacturing technique, Mikimoto is also famous for its jewelery creations. And a particular sensitivity is testified with the high jewelery. Nature, on the other hand, is one of the themes that always inspired Japanese culture: the Praise to Nature necklace adds to the other unique pieces an idea of the sea. It consists of an extraordinary set of pearls, sapphires, diamonds and an incredibly rare 54-carat aquamarine. The stones and pearls are mounted on 18-karat white gold. But it’s not the only great piece of jewelery dedicated to the sea, as the ocean-inspired pendant shows, with precious stones partially hidden in an imaginative frame of corals embellished with diamonds, opals and pearls. Valentina Sciumé off limits

Valentina Sciumé, among fashion and accessories, her unlimited bijoux ♦︎
She is defined herself as fashion and accessories designer and emphasizes her works is made in Italy-handmade. Valentina Sciumé is one of the creative ones that are hardly framable, at least her style. To say that she is eclectic is too little. Perhaps it is enough to say that it is a creative that does not set limits. Nothing is too much: if you like super trendy fashion jewelry, even of remarkable size, take a look at her production. With her fashion and jewelry traveling in parallel: graduated from the Fashion Academy in Rome, and she designed Alberto Biani’s ready-to-wear line for two seasons. Her curriculum includes an experience in the design team of the first line of Costume National and two and a half years in women’s accessories production for the second lines of Versace, Versace Collection and Versus.
From there she started off for his creative world: she confesses “a great passion for fashion accessories” and she founded the brand bearing his name in 2012. And not only accessories, but also hats. Always on the fashion world, she has participated in various fashion-related events, as well as at Homi, a fair dedicated to accessory. In short, a double life, only of course, for creativity. David Yurman to four

The four High Jewelery collections by David Yurman, with a necklace made up of 7,000 spinels ♦ ︎
If David Yurman is a magnificent name in the jewelery world, it will also be that of Evan Yurman. The son of the founder of the American Maison debuted with the high jewelery in July, during the Haute Couture in Paris. The pieces presented for the fall-winter season 2017-2018 are distributed in four collections: Dubbed Stax, Petals, Pearls and Gems. Different solutions, different ideas and the same precious wealth of elements are the characteristic of collections. Already the name indicates the different paths from the collections. Petals, for example, was inspired by David Yurman’s nocturnal designs, awakened by the croak of frogs in his Putnam home, north of New York. Pearl, on the other hand, is obviously dedicated to the round and dark-eyed daughters of the South Seas and Tahiti. Gems, as it is easy to imagine, privileges the stones. To note a necklace that is the fruit of 186 hours of work, made in 16 threads of 7,000 red beads cut to beads, plus 412 diamonds. Margherita Donato

The Bouquet by Recarlo

The Bouquet collection of Recarlo: jewelry made up of seven diamonds ♦ ︎
Will the diamond ring ever pass away? Or diamonds, at plural. It may seem strange for those who do not deal with jewels, but a ring, or earrings, with many stones being cheaper than a jewel with one diamond. This is because the price of a stone varies according to its quality (transparency, color, cut), but above all for its weight. A 4-carat stone costs more than four 1-carat stones. All this premise to introduce the Bouquet collection by Recarlo, which uses a composition with seven diamonds. As it is easy to imagine, seven brilliant cut diamonds furnish a sparkling and lively look. The diamonds are blooming: six petals around a stone in the center, the light spot. Small griffes stop the stones on a ring, a frame of earrings, or a white gold pendant. The effect is assured. Giulia Netrese

In the dreams of Alcozer

New jewels inspired by the Renaissance of the Maison of Florence Alcozer ♦ ︎
If you like to imagine yourself in Renaissance Florence, at the palace of Cosimo de ‘Medici, with court music and Leonardo da Vinci painting The Battle of Anghiari, you can start with the luxury bijoux produced by Alcozer. In the Tuscan town, the company led by Giampiero Alcozer since 1994 produces collections that have the flavor of the far, but still alive, era that marked the entire western civilization. The choice is that of a compromise between jewelery and production in series. The result is jewelery that inspires the past, with semi-precious stones, pearls and Swarovski crystals, mounted on brass, then golden by galvanic baths. Although the inspiration is that of a secular tradition, there are also fun inventions, as in Dream Box pendants, which recall more than the 19th century open medallions and may contain small souvenirs. The prices are not Renaissance, but very in line with to the present days: from 100 to 300 euros in average. Giulia Netrese

Buzio Luciano, silence is golden

You’ve never heard, perhaps, about Buzio Luciano. Yet it is a company that has nearly half a century old, is active in Valenza, italian capital of high jewelry, and his pieces are sold in many countries besides Italy. The reason is simple: Buzio Luciano, now managed by the son of one of the three founding partners, Ivano Amalio Buzio, don’t has of almost “boring” activities to communicate their work. Many facts and few words, should be the motto of this small company. Founded as a simple goldsmith’s workshop, the company has maintained a low profile typical of Piedmont, but it certainly does not facilitate the marketing activity. That just does not exist. On the other hand, there are the jewels of Buzio Luciano, testifying to the skill in the use of traditional goldsmith techniques of the brand. The style is, let’s say, unwilling to flights of fancy of the avant-garde designers. Here there is much chisel, well set stones at the center of the rings, gold and diamonds as in the rule. Also this is good. Margherita Donato

Al Coro’s novelties

The Al Coro brand is coming back to VicenzaOro with its collections ♦︎
It ha origin in Vicenza and in Vicenza, the brand is coming back. Giuliano Corolli, a Italian designer born in Vicenza, has linked her name to the Al Coro brand and the Maison participates in VicenzaOro on a regular basis, including the September 2017 event. Corolli’s long career has linked with designers like Harry Winston , H. Stern or Helmut Wempe. Learned what was to be learned, Corolli worked with a base in Germany. The Dolce Vita, in short, is proposed to the rigorous Germans who, fortunately, love sinuous Latin moldings. Over time, the Maison rudder went to Alexander and Daniel Corolli, who took advantage of the economic boom and transformed Giuliano Corolli’s designs into Al Coro, introducing in 2008 the emblematic collection of Mezzaluna and Serenata, which are constantly being renewed. In VicenzaOro September, in particular, the Palladio collection, which plays on a pattern consisting of small spheres connected with diamonds or stones such as chalcedony or topaz, will be on stage. Casato in pink and white

Casato’s vie en rose is with white diamonds ♦ ︎
The Vie en rose is a French song known worldwide, written, interpreted and brought to success by Édith Piaf. But it is also a desire, which is intimately linked to a love story. The synthesis is in this collection of jewels signed by Casato, the Roman Maison who proposed the suite of these pieces even during the last edition of Baselworld. It is a collection of jewels made up of a kind of embroidery in the form of leaves or flowers, with the geometric motif of an oval with pointed ends, like an eye, which recurs. It is used, for example, to dial large chandelier earrings. For the collection, gold is used in the three classic yellow, white and pink colors, along with white diamonds with brilliant cut. It is worth noting, in particular, the large white gold necklace with white diamonds, which has a larger stone center: it’s consisting of a hundred elements covered by a diamond paved. Life can be pink, but even with white diamonds is not bad. Alessia Mongrando

It’s going from Venice the road to Rome 1947

The new proposals of Rome 1947, accessory jewelery brand ♦ ︎
It is called Roma1947 but it was born in 2015. Instead of Rome, he also chose Venice to open his first boutique. In other words, the history of the brand might give rise to doubts. But the truth is simpler: the date, 1947, is a reference to post-war Italy, with the Dolce Vita celebrated by Federico Fellini. And the choice of Venice is consistent with the Venetian origin of the company, which is located near Vicenza: it is daughter, in fact, of Better Silver, which is a great reality in the production of chains and components for jewelery. The basic idea, in short, was to create a brilliant brand of light. The bet seems to be successful, because in addition to having the experience and the means to create jewelery collections at home, Rome 1947 chose the affordable jewelery range, with prices ranging between 70 and 150 euros. And it is precisely the market segment that has seen more growth in recent years. At the Venice boutique, the company also paired an effective online store. It’s a demonstration that initiative and fantasy are the natural ingredients for success. Just as it’s happened in Italy in the years after 1947. Lavinia Andorno

Bea Bongiasca clears a Coca

A mini collection dedicated to the most popular carbonated beverage in the world: Coca Cola. The author is the designer of Milan Bea Bongiasca ♦ ︎
Rice and Coca Cola. It may seem like a not too orthodox combination for good food enthusiasts. But if you talk about jewelery is another talk. Bea Bongiasca began her career with No Rice, No Life, the first jewelery collection that wanted to be a bridge between the Asian heritage and the symbols of Western consumer culture. Two opposing views of luxury: rice, one of the most important resources of Oriental culture and a symbol of life, together with pearls and silver, is synonymous with wealth in Western countries. A few years after the food seen as a symbol, the designer of Milan thought of another emblem of Western life, Coca Cola. And she produced a mini collection sold exclusively at the Rossana Orlandi boutique in Porto Cervo (Sardinia). The beverage bottle thus becomes an ornamental element, but also allusive, along with pink flowers, green leaves and gems. The materials used are silver, but also stones like topaz, carved amethyst. The 50 Rubies of the Imperial Necklace

The Imperial Necklace with the finest rubies in the world in Monte Carlo ♦ ︎
Burmese rubies are the most sought after for their quality. But it is rare that many stones are used together as in the Imperial Necklace, an exquisite necklace, which was shown in preview, worn by a Russian model, by Ravi Lunia, director of Faidee, the largest Burmese specialized company in rubies. The occasion was an exhibition at Hotel Hermitage in the Principality of Monaco dedicated to Burmese ruby. The rubies of the necklace have a “pigeon blood” color that is considered the most intense hue. Red stones, all of the same quality, weigh about 130 carats, and are assembled together with colorless and perfect diamonds. The Monaco exhibition includes over one hundred jewels made of Faidee stones, with unheated Burmese rubies. Hotel Hermitage until August 21st. The imperial necklace contains 50 rubies, with eight gems weighing more than 5 carats each. The rubies exposed in Monte Carlo are part of a personal collection covering four generations. Dolce & Gabbana for two

Dolce & Gabbana, jewelery on a dual binary: pop bijoux or sophisticated jewels ♦ ︎
Dolce & Gabbana is a trademark of two creative minds, who have also doubled the log of their stylistic proposal. The D & G brand is high fashion, or prêt-à-porter, is worn by stars, but also by so many common people. Their production has long been extended to accessories and jewelery. Faithful to the philosophy of the Maison, jewelry also follows two ways: one that is more closely linked to popular traditions, with symbols borrowed from traditions, even religious ones, and reinterpreted. The second one, instead, is linked to a more demanding audience, with greater availability of spending and less inclined to wear bright jewels. Although, in fact, Dolce & Gabbana’s high or fine jewelry collections are all, but not invisible.
The bijoux, for example, use galvanic (ie plated metal), resin and crystals for necklaces made of rosary, flowers, heraldic badge or big hearts that become earrings and rings. The most precious jewelery offers, for example, necklaces of amethysts, citrine or quartz according to the sacred goldsmith’s canons. Different, of course, also the price ranges where jewelery is placed: for bijoux the range is between 300 and 700 euros, while for the amethyst necklace it goes to 16,000 euros, for the ring of the same parure to 1,750 euros , Same price for earrings. Lucia Odescalchi zen

The charm of the East in the new jewels of the Roman designer Lucia Odescalchi ♦ ︎
«Orientalism. A new way of approaching jewels. Meditation tools». This is how is presented the collection by Lucia Odescalchi, a Roman designer by the noble roots, has been charmed by bamboo, silence, yoga, reflection and zen. There are all things that, you know, in Rome do not abound. And perhaps also, as written in psychology manuals, opposites are attracted as a magnetic force. The same is true, of course, also for those who are used to the ceaseless rhythm of urban areas, uses of noises, stress, excesses.
It is unknown whether Lucia Odescalchi’s new Orientalism jewels have taumaturgical properties on the psyche of the wearer, but in any case they can be very enjoyable accessories. The geometries follow those that are seen in certain Japanese prints, where asymmetry is the highest of symmetry, where empty are fills and the brightest colors are the soft ones. Pearls, lacquers, crystals, aquamarines are the elements of the earrings and a pendant that can be worn with a satin choker or as a pendant of a chain. The important thing is to wear it very calmly.
