The Gothic mobile by Lebole Gioielli

Beside the fascination for Japan, Barbara Lebole has a fondness for the dark side. This is testified by Caratteri Mobili, the new line of earrings that enriches the Gothic Collection of Lebole Gioielli. The peculiarity of this line concerns the mobile structure of the earrings. It is made of gold galvanized silver and, above all, has its origins in art (another passion of Barbara Lebole), where the word mobiles means are a type of sculpture built to exploit the principles of balance, for example those of Alexander Calder.

In these sculptures the hanging elements balance each other and remain in balance, but not immobile: they oscillate with a minimum movement or breath of breeze. In the same way, the individual pieces that make up the colorful and multi-material earrings are suspended on a silver frame that recalls the Gothic Collection.
Each earring in the collection, single, assembles colored stones of various shapes and small objects that are inspired by the wunderkammer, the rooms of wonders that in the past contained collections of surprising natural objects (for the time). The collection consists of 26 single earrings that can be combined as desired to create the favorite couple.

The ancient Japanese graphic sign ensō inspired a new collection by Lebole Gioielli ♦ ︎

The ensō graphic sign is the most common in Japanese calligraphy. As often happens in the East, the meaning is elusive or, better, multiple: ensō symbolizes enlightenment, strength and the universe, but also simply a circle. Closed or open? Revealed or hidden? The choice and the attribution are your. But ensō is also an image and, therefore, it is possible to limit oneself to the aesthetic effect. From Japan to Italy: the Lebole Gioielli brand has used, since its debut, eight years ago, Japanese icons and fabrics, from which Barbara Lebole is fascinated, as a symbol of the culture and art of the Land of the Rising Sun.

One of the new collections has therefore decided to be inspired by the graphic sign of ensō, an operation entrusted to the sculptor and designer Peru, the name of art by Paolo Perugini. The characteristic of Perugini art is the recovery and reuse of materials and in this new collection he uses circles of metal galvanized gold and semi-circles of leather covered with silk from ancient Japanese kimonos. The total composition is decorated with colored stones that match the colors of the fabrics. The pairs of symmetrical earrings develop in three sizes.

Newness by Lebole: the jewel cities

The first monument represented in the new collection of jewelry by Lebole, named De Architectura, could only be the Duomo of Milan. A jewel that is a tribute to Expo 2015, consists of a pair of earrings round and asymmetrical: a disk covered with a spotted fabric in the shape of Italy golden metal and the other in the world map of the world with the silhouette of the Milanese cathedral. From here starts the series inspired by the most famous theorist of architecture, ie Virtruvio, and to his treaty from which takes its name the line; then it will be the turn of Rome, with the Colosseum, Venice and then follow all the jewel cities of the Peninsula. From the dotty quote, a constant in the production by Nicoletta and Barbara Lebole, with fabrics of the eighteenth-century Bourbon factory and the ancient kimonos of previous collections, to the next level with the use of silver: «It was a choice we have fro make as the positioning up to continue to grow and enter the jewelers who keep only objects in precious metals, no brass or bronze.

They are increasingly, especially in Italy and this is a positive signal», says Barbara Lebole. «So we decided to create collections in silver with our features: asymmetrical earrings repeating one of the historical most successful motifs, the kimono and the ideogram, that are unique pieces because the silk, applied on the silver through our patent technique, is always different. In addition, we introduced a variant in white , black and green glossy or matt enamel, all colors of Art Deco from which takes its name this line. Even prices are higher and therefore are between 150 and 200 euro».
