The Maison born in Capri years ago proposed an original series of jewels that are inspired by the irregular shape of the small stones used to pave a small road carved into the rock of the small island, which connects the Marina Piccola harbor. A new road, a revision or simply the desire to change something. All jewelers have their own style, a way of interpreting their creations. But sometimes they look at their work with another eye. And that’s when they decide to make changes. Nina Runsdorf, for example, has for years been famous for her diamond jewelry, perhaps with unusual cuts. Now, however, the designer has decided to color her life and jewelry collections with gems like emeralds, opals, spessartite, sapphires, topaz and iolite. New colors, new jewels, but without giving up their flip rings, rings with pendant that have always been the iconic jewel of the designer.

Born and raised in New York, Nina Runsdorf launched her first collection in 2005, but her first jewelry line designed it at the age of 12. Since then she has never stopped, even if the first steps were in the fashion world. In 2009, during a trip to India, she discovered colored diamonds and antique cuts. She opened a showroom on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, but she distributes her jewels in the rest of the world via a network of trusted retailers, or online. Why 29 is her favorite number? She hasn’t explained it yet. Certainly, however, the name As29 to its trendy jewelry house also derives from the initials of Audrey Savransky, who founded it. Born in Anvers in a family that has been trading in diamonds for four generations, the designer moved to London and then to Hong Kong, where she now resides. It is in the Asian city that she decided to combine her activity as a jeweler with that of a diamond dealer.

It was 2008. After ten year and more, the Maison is remained faithful to its very aggressive style, but clean, sometimes disorienting.

News in the Anniversary Love collection by Recarlo. The Maison specializing in white gold and diamond jewelery (with some exceptions) expands one of its most popular collections. As the name indicates, the collection is proposed as a symbol (and gift) on exceptional occasions, engagements, weddings, anniversaries, symbols of passion and luxury at the same time. The choice of Recarlo, even for the new jewels, is to use diamonds with a heart-shaped cut, even small ones. A way to emphasize the focus on which the collection is concentrated and, at the same time, a technical challenge for jewelry: it is not easy to get and work with so many diamonds with this type of shape. Which, among other things, they have the advantage of achieving a particularly brilliant visual effect.

As in the case of the collier, in which diamond hearts chase each other in a rivière way: it is the highlight of the collection, with about 15 carats of diamonds and an approximate price of about 61,000 euros.

Among the novelties there are also chandelier earrings. In this case they are available in two price ranges: from 26,000 euros for 5.83 carats or 12,640 euros for a lighter carat weight. Even the ring uses graduate diamonds, always in the shape of a heart, mounted on a crossed band of rhodium-plated white gold, this too very sparkling. In addition, a tennis necklace is also added, with diamonds climbing from 0.30 carats up to the small ones of 0.06 carats, miraculously also these in the shape of a heart (who knows how they manage to cut them).

In Latin the word “tuum” means a possessive pronoun: it translates to your, masculine. Still in Latin, the female version is simply “tua”. But now the spirits of Cicero and Catullus will have to take note of a neologism: Tuam. More than a pronoun, however, Tuam X is the name of a ring. And the X indicates a number, 10, according to the use of ancient Rome. In fact, for Tuum, a religious jewelery company, the time has come to celebrate the first ten years of life, and a bit like the iPhone, the date is transformed into the X number to be added to the piece more iconic.

The band ring, in fact, is part of the Settedoni series. It is composed of seven individual lines linked together.

Tuam X, like other jewels of the Italian brand, shows a spiral of words that flow along its length. At the center is the M, Tuum’s tribute to the generative forces of the world: M of Mater, M of Mary, M of Mondo (means world). The initial that embraces the flow of words wants to represent the feeling that Tuum jewels evoke in people, jewels that touch the soul of the wearer. The Tuam X ring is available in silver and gold. The summer sun and the green of the trees inspired jewelry designer Ileana Makri to design the Grass collection. The Clash were an English punk rock band active from 1976 to 1986. But the word clash in the English language is also synonymous with combat. In short, the word evokes a rough, angular, and not very accommodating concept. Translated into the world of jewelry, Clash now identifies with the new Cartier collection. Which, to be precise, is a bit sharp and is reminiscent in style of bracelets and ornaments used by heavy metal and punk fans.

Five high jewelery rings signed by de Grisogono: they will be presented at the Cannes Film Festival. In fact the collection is called Technicolor ♦ ︎

The Ginevra Maison of high jewelery de Grisogono has two fixed points: participation in the Cannes Film Festival and a good dose of humor. For 2019 he decided to combine both aspects for the 17th appointment in Cannes: de Grisogono chosed to call his creations under the name of Technicolor. A name that has made the history of cinema: Technicolor was the second color cinematography procedure to be used on a large scale and, untill 1952, the most used in the United States. It was a synonym of great quality, of strong visual impact, of great films.

But for de Grisogono the word Technicolor brings together five new high jewelery rings. Obviously with very colored stones.

The five rings have as many central stones: ruby, emerald, sapphire, yellow diamond, white diamond. These stones combine with other stones. Combinations that the Maison sees as allusions to the history of cinema. Like the great masterpieces signed by great directors, also these rings are unique pieces. In short, each of these rings has its own script and a director (de Grisogono) who tells their story and their virtues.

The first ring is in green tone. It is made of 18K white gold, with a coussin-cut Colombian emerald (11.60 carats) and 532 black diamonds (approx. 11.30 carats) in the center. A contrast, between green and black, reinforced by the large lower corolla that rotates around a magnetic beryl that can move.

The second ring is in 18K rose gold, with a brilliant-cut white diamond (7.12 ct), 21 cabochon-cut rubies (15.70 ct), 111 brilliant-cut rubies (approx. 16.50 ct) and 162 white diamonds (about 2.75 carats). The asymmetry between the cuts of the ruby (cabochon and brilliant) goes up to the profile of the ring, covered with over a hundred brilliant cut diamonds. This ring in 18K white gold has a Coussin-cut Burmese ruby (18.13 ct), 46 white cut briolette diamonds (approx. 45.11 ct) and 319 white diamonds (approx. 3.47 ct) in the center. It has a Haute Couture setting technique, which has become the jeweler’s signature, which gives total freedom to the stones, leaving them appear as if they were floating in the air.

Can you have an inspiration for a collection even to Napoleon Bonaparte? You can, if there is called Sonia and Katia Gaydamak. Two sisters of Russian origin, daughters of the rich Israeli businesman Arcadi Gaydamak, which in 2009 created the eponymous jewelry brand, after graduating at Gemological Institute of America in New York. Between London and Paris, between their fantasies and suggestions of objects found by chance, they have developed their own, high, jewelery philosophy.

As in the case of the collection 1802, which was inspired by a medal, the Legion of Honor. It is the highest honor awarded in France and introduced by Napoleon. Inspired to this prestigious award were born ring, earrings and bracelet, with gold light rays which start from a tiger’s eye at the center. “To infinity and beyond”, Buzz Lightear exclaimed in Toy Story. Towards Infinia and beyond, fans of the New York Maison say instead. Mister Jacob Arabo, who at the age of 14 emigrated from the distant Uzbekistan to the US and created a world-famous brand, presented the Infinia collection at Baselworld. As it is easy to understand, the name alludes to the concept of Infinity. A bit like female vanity.

The Infinia collection is available in pearls and turquoise, corals and diamonds.

The circular designs of the collection, a bit hypnotic, symbolize an endless cycle (perhaps an infinite love? Dreaming is beautiful). Stones and pearls are found in a set in 18-carat white gold. The same cheerfulness cannot be manifested at a marriage that is lived at a party with friends, at the stroke of midnight on December 31st or on the day of graduation. Thus also the Allegra collection by de Grisogono adapts to the times and places.

Founded in 2003, the Allegra collection has adapted to different habits, fashions and lifestyles. However, it has always maintained its initial shape effect.

According to de Grisogono, the Allegra collection “embodies the woman who, from Cannes to Porto Cervo, from Saint-Moritz to New York, is a free spirit that shines with her audacity imbued with independence”. Not surprisingly, in fact, in the various additions to the collection there is also a pendant supported by leather laces: definitely a sporty touch. Jewelry collections also celebrate anniversaries. Even more so if the collection is called Anniversary and has been one of the classics of Recarlo for years. And given that the Maison of Valenza works almost exclusively with white gold and diamonds, the difficulty is obviously that of being able to propose something new. Yet he succeeds.

In 2019 the Anniversary collection expands by introducing a new line of wrapping jewels.

Always white gold, always diamonds, but organized with a different spiral design. Rings and bracelets are available for one, two or three laps. The spring design gives flexibility and better wearability.
