It is the destiny of those who always work with a season or two in advance: while everyone enjoys the sun on the beach, they imagine snow and fur. And vice versa: When out of the cold wind blows, fashion and jewelery designers are forced to dream light clothes and refreshing drinks. There are no exceptions to the great jewels of the high jewelery. Like Graff, synonymous with exceptional diamonds and stones, as well as watches made with the most striking goldsmith techniques. During July’s Couture Week in Paris, the jeweler presented a series of pieces of High Jewelry. And soon after, in the middle of the summer heat, she showed the first images of the high jewelery collection designed for the winter 2017-2018. For example, Snowfall earrings, which are really a snowflake cascade, naturally made of diamonds and sapphires (they also have the value that they do not melt). Or for the sapphire necklace in the unusual emerald cut, of course with the diamonds. The collection of diamonds and sapphires remembers, in fact, the reflections of the snow, which is summoned through a mix of not only first-rate stones but also arranged with different cuts to form regular geometries, but playing on a pinch of irregularities. De Beers, a name that has been synonymous with diamonds for over a century. And not only for the stones that enrich engagement rings, solitaire with diamonds that do not surpass, usually, a fraction of carat. De Beers is also an illustrious name for high jewelery, as shown by the Lotus collection, showed during the Haute Couture week in Paris. The favorite flower of Oriental culture, on the other hand, is one of the favorite subjects also by Western jewelery. Its symmetrical shape inspires ever-changing compositions and is no exception the De Beers Lotus collection. The flower petals become diamonds with the most different cuts, until they look like the botanical original, but assume an aspect that reminds the mandala, the geometric patterns used in meditation, as in a light necklace of Radiating Lotus diamonds.

We save you the hard work of counting them all: the diamonds of this extraordinary collier are 4549, for a total of 47.05 carats. In addition, there is an emerald of 16.68 carats. It is no surprise, then, that this jewel-masterpiece by Pasquale Bruni is the winners of the Couture Design Award 2017, a prestigious international prize that is awarded during the Couture 2017 in Las Vegas. Pasquale Bruni is the winner of the Haute Couture category chosed by five jury jury experts: Yossi Harari (judge-designer), Julie Thom (owner of Von Bargen’s), Melissa Geiser (jewelry buyer for Stanley Korshak), Katerina Perez and Daisy Shaw .
The collier is called 4th Chakra and consists of an expanse of light diamond flowers that form a heart woven with white gold threads and enriched by an emerald drop. Chakras in Indian philosophy are crucial points in the body, tied to a spiritual dimension. In this case, however, the first part of the human body engaged are the eyes. Green is the color of the year 2017, according to Pantone. But, actually, in jewelery green is always been fashionable. Especially if the color of the leaves is what is reflected by precious emeralds. Sutra, Maison guided by Arpita Navlakha, with a workshop in Mumbai and roots in Texas, also knows it well. In the spring of 2017 Yoko London opened a new boutique in London, in Knightsbridge. And in March, he presented his new jewels to Baselworld. As always, they are organized in two families: bracelets, rings, earrings and necklaces to wear in any time, and special pieces, Masterpiece (at special prices), for great occasions. But both jewelery lines share the same basic element: the pearls. Of great quality, colorful, large, small, shiny or opaque, of Thaïti or australian: all pearls that often form jewels that are far from the simple thread to the ladies’ neck. In short, pearls combined with fantasy and design.
Yoko London already has a considerable history behind it: it was founded in 1973, and is now led by the third generation of the Hakimian family.
