L&rsquo;autrice est<strong> Ann Carrington<\/strong>, une artiste britannique. La composition de deux grands galions de perles, en fait, est inspir\u00e9 par\u00a0Wing Wo Wave City, une zone industrielle dans la province de Zhuijang, en\u00a0Chine, ou on\u00a0il produit une \u00e9norme quantit\u00e9 de perles de culture. Cette sculpture se compose de centaines de petites perles d&rsquo;un galion trois-m\u00e2ts, flottant sur une mer de broches opulentes, boucles d&rsquo;oreilles, colliers et diad\u00e8mes. Carrington explique que l&rsquo;intention est de mettre en \u00e9vidence \u00ab\u00a0la diff\u00e9rence entre leur r\u00f4le en tant que symbole de statut intemporel et la r\u00e9alit\u00e9, souvent pas tr\u00e8s romantique.\u00a0\u00bb Ce galion serait un bateau de pirates? Peut \u00eatre. Ann Carrington a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 \u00e0 Bournville College of Art, Birmingham et le Royal College of Art, o\u00f9 elle a obtenu son dipl\u00f4me en 1987. Elle\u00a0a \u00e9t\u00e9 aussi invit\u00e9 par les Nations Unies en 2010 pour produire des \u0153uvres d&rsquo;art qui encouragent la r\u00e9flexion sur les probl\u00e8mes actuels.<\/p>\n<figure
