Seg\u00fan el conde Mercy-Argenteau, embajador de Austria en Francia, se pagaron en parte con piedras preciosas de la colecci\u00f3n de la reina y en parte con los fondos que la reina recibi\u00f3 de su esposo, el rey Luis XVI. En el momento de la Revoluci\u00f3n, las joyas se llevaron a B\u00e9lgica y luego se pasaron a Madame Royale, la hija sobreviviente de Mar\u00eda Antonieta. Un diamante talla pera de 55,50 quilates se vendi\u00f3 por 4,5 millones de euros. Un broche de oro amarillo con diamantes talla baguette y gota y rub\u00ed talla coj\u00edn, firmado Van Cleef &amp; Arpels, se vendi\u00f3 por 3,8 millones de euros. Un anillo de platino con un diamante de talla brillante ovalada de 43,19 quilates ascend\u00eda a 3,1 millones de euros.
