Si bien es cierto que todos los diamantes brillan, no todas las gemas tienen fluorescencia. De hecho, los diamantes con esta propiedad son raros: menos del 6% de las gemas extra\u00eddas de la tierra tienen una fluorescencia de media a muy fuerte, y menos del 0,5% son muy fuertes.
